When Olympic gold medalist Cullen Jones was 5 years old, he almost drowned during a trip to a Pennsylvania water park with his family. "My inner tube hit the pool at the bottom of the biggest slide in the park and flipped over," Jones, 32, tells People. "I had never had swim lessons, I didn't know what to do and I wasn't strong enough to pull myself out of the water." Jones held on to the inner tube trapped under the water until he lost consciousness. He says he was out for 30 seconds before a lifeguard pulled him out and resuscitated him.

The odds of having a baby on February 29, which only occurs every four years, is already low enough. But the odds of having two leap day babies? Astronomical. On Monday, Jennifer Ginn of Lakewood, Colorado, gave birth to a baby boy, Antonio, 12 years after her first son, Giovanni, who was also born on a leap day. (The odds of being born on a leap day are roughly 1 in 1,461.) "They're going to be lucky, and they're going to bring us luck," said Anthony Ginn, Jennifer's husband. People talked to leap day babies about what it's like to only have a "true" birthday every four years.

Every four years, Feb. 29 happens, prolonging the ordinarily 28-day month. These leap years - 2016 included - have an extra day in order to keep our clocks and calendars in sync. (We'll spare you the detailed mathematics of why.) The chances of being born on a leap day are 1 in 1,461; leap babies' true birthday land just once every four years. Here's what that's like, according to the (grown) leap babies themselves: "Most people were shocked, they have never met someone born on leap year. You instantly feel special, and no one ever forgets your birthday. On years where I don't have...

On Monday night’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Brandi Glanville made a comment directed at Joyce Giraud that was ignorant at best and racist at worst.
Brandi Glanville: 'You're a black person'
At Giraud’s Palm Spring residence, Glanville urged the host to join her in the pool. When Giraud declined, Glanville persisted until Giraud admitted she couldn’t swim. Glanville then replied, “You’re a black person.” After the tasteless quip, an awkward silence followed.
In the testimonial part of the episode, Kyle Richards wondered, “Did that really just come out of your mouth?”
When Glanville’s testimonial came on, she was far from apologetic. In fact, she offered a rationalization for her remark, and implied that her company had overly sensitive reactions. “It was a joke, and my black friends would have laughed crazy because they don’t go in the pool because...

Lochte has been in Vegas for a belated celebration of his 28th birthday. He and teammate Cullen Jones have been spotted at Tao in the Venetian and Azure at the Palazzo. Prince Harry stopped in Vegas after a charity event in San Diego.
Up next for Lochte is a guest-starring role on "90210" and he says he's eyeing possibly being the next "Bachelor" for ABC.

Let’s just start off with U.S Olympian Hope Solo and see how she fared over her weekend. Hope got her medal on (again) at the VH1 Do Something Awards yesterday, in Santa Monica, winning the “Do Something Athlete” trophy. And she did so wearing a simple black sheath and black pumps. Simple, non-intrusive and when compared to fellow Olympian, Ryan Lochte, boring. Seriously, these two could not have gone in two more different directions this weekend. Ryan’s had his calendar full these past few days. His run started on Thursday night, where he made an appearance at the WWE SummerSlam VIP Kickoff party at the Beverly Hills Hotel. But his time is precious these days, so he flew off to Vegas, the very same night, for Worship Thursday at Tao nightclub where People reports that, “Camera phones went crazy, and a bevy of ladies turned their heads to his table,...

And it looked like he made the most of his belated birthday party (he actually turned 28 August 3rd). After posing on the carpet in patriotic swim trunks and one of his gold medals from the London Games, the 90210 guest star stripped down to a pink speedo and kicked off the party, popping champagne and mingling with ladies in the pool. Friday night was far from the sexiest night for Olympics coverage — especially when you compare it to the previous night, with the explosive women’s all-around finals. NBC must have realized this, which is probably why the first half hour of primetime coverage was dedicated to reliving the 1996 Women’s Gymnastics Team Finals, in which the Magnificent 7 walked away with the U.S.’s first gold in the event. (Well, most of them walked.)
But while it was no Gabby Douglas Night of Awesome, there was a good amount of action. So here’s the best recap I can muster.
