Luxury fashion house Valentino and Pierpaolo Piccioli have announced their joint decision to end their collaboration.
“Since 2016, Piccioli, in the role of creative director, has significantly influenced the path of the Maison with his vision, dedication and innovative spirit, influencing a crucial chapter in the history of the company,” said the company in a statement.
Piccioli joined the company 25 years ago and was appointed creative director of the luxury fashion house in 2016. During his tenure, he dressed stars like Florence Pugh and Rihanna for the Met Gala and Zendaya, Emily Blunt and Carey Mulligan for the Academy Awards. He also became known for the bright hue he dubbed Pp Pink, which became a phenomenon and part of the rage for the Barbiecore shade.

It ain’t easy being a power woman in entertainment, media and tech — which is why our annual executive vacation report “Moguls on a Boat” is devoted this year to high-profile women who deserve to play as hard as they work.
This list isn’t as long as in years past, which should probably tell you something about gender parity in the executive ranks of these industries, but our bosses are fierce.
They are spiritual and thought leaders, CEOs, philanthropists, underwriters of art and culture and definitively in charge. They also rake in substantial incomes — the list includes the richest woman in the world, Forbes’ reigning most powerful woman in media and three brand titans who leveraged multimillion-dollar companies based on their celebrity.

Gwyneth Paltrow and fiancé Brad Falchuk spent the weekend in Italy, enjoying some fun in the sun, not to mention luxury. During their time on the yacht, Paltrow and Falchuk enjoyed swimming in the crystal blue Mediterranean water and being wined and dined. One day, they dove in to the ocean in sync and swam for a few minutes, then emerged, smiling. When they got out, yacht staff were waiting for them with towels, an eyewitness told E! News. Anne Hathaway explored the Swiss town of Gstaad today with her husband Adam Shulman. The newlyweds have been in Europe vacationing with their good friends the designer Valentino Garavani and his longtime partner Giancarlo Giammetti. On Monday, Anne took in the sights with Valentino and Giancarlo while Adam was elsewhere. Valentino is especially close with Anne, and actually designed Anne's wedding dress for her and Adam's September 2012 wedding. Anne wasn't the only famous guest of Valentino's for the holidays - Madonna reportedly joined Anne at Valentino's Nye bash. 2012 was full of major milestones for Anne. Not only did she tie the knot in September, but she turned 30 in November and has been racking up critical acclaim for her role as Fantine in Les Miserables. The movie was No. 1 at the Christmas Day box office, making it a hit with audiences, too. View Slideshow ›...

As the longtime C.E.O. of Disney, Michael Eisner was one of the most influential media moguls of the past 30 years. Since leaving the company in 2005, however, Eisner has been just as busy. Among his recent endeavors is his book Working Together: Why Great Partnerships Succeed, which was published in September and examines 10 of the most successful duos in business history, including the producing team of Ron Howard and Brian Grazer, the fashion empire builders Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giammetti, and Eisner and Disney president Frank Wells. Last week Eisner’s company released a social game called FameTown, in which players assume the role of a Hollywood actor trying to make it to the A-List. (Like the wildly popular games Farmville and Mafia Wars, it is played through Facebook.) Eisner spoke to Vf Daily about success, coming from money, and the changing face of media. Dear Friends,
As the summer comes to a close, I wanted to send you a note to let you know that I'm eagerly anticipating the release of my book, Working Together: Why Great Partnerships Succeed, which will be published by HarperCollins on September 14th.
This all began about a decade ago when I found myself trying to figure out why my partnership with Frank Wells at Disney was so magical for us. Then I started thinking about partnerships in general, about great combos in business and in life, about the elusive nature of "working together." We're all brought up in a world of sharing, from birth to at least through 6th grade,...

Filmed just before the duo left the label in 2008, the doc boasts drama, drama and more drama. There's bickering between Giammetti and Garavani over which side of the street they originally met, a baddie in the shape of business owner Matteo Marzotto and, of course, plenty of choice lines. Valentino: The Last Emperor Directed by Matt Tyrnauer Valentino: The Last Emperor is like any fashion show - lavish, beautiful and entertaining, but with little depth. The documentary, directed by Vanity Fair's Special Correspondent Matt Tyrnauer, attempts to work as a profile piece on Valentino Garavani, the now 77-year-old designer and head of the so-called "last" haute couture house, yet it is unsuccessful in its focus. The film centers on the end of Valentino's career, which includes an extravagant event for his 45th anniversary of being in the business, coinciding with his 45-year relationship with his business and personal partner, Giancarlo Giammetti. The lifestyles of the rich and famous abound here. The film is shot in many of Valentino's houses and villas, with his five pugs following him from party to runway to office to yacht. The most entertaining parts of the film include the exchanges between Valentino and Giancarlo.

Another lion of the industry gets kicked to the curb. It.s a love story that began with the business. Valentino and his lover and business partner Giancarlo Giammetti co-founded the design house and ran it together until 2007. The house of Valentino defined the 80.s and 90.s and counted among its clients royalty, Hollywood stars and oil rich Arabs. Every gown was meticulously hand stitched, sequined, embroidered and loved. Valentino: The Last Emperor, a movie I directed about the design icon, Valentino, and his partner of 50 years, Giancarlo Giammetti, came to theaters in the United States this spring. Currently, the movie is expanding its run to many cities across the country, and has become the highest grossing documentary of the year. Theatrical distribution, let alone audience acceptance for a documentary is rare, so this has been a pleasant month of traveling the nation, and doing press and events around the movie in cities from New England to California. Valentino and Giammetti, the stars of the show, joined me for several of these premieres and events, most notably in New York City, where they attracted a celebrity juggernaut, headed up by Gwyneth and Madonna.
