Those of you who have yet to jump off the Asian horror bandwagon may be overjoyed to know that distributor Well Go USA has acquired Us rights to both of the recent “Ju-On” films — namely “The Grudge: Girl in Black” and “The Grudge: Old Lady in White” — with plans to release both pictures in one tidy little package on May 17th. No specifics have yet been release, though I suspect some DVD artwork and an official title to arrive shortly. After all, May really isn’t that far away. On your way out, be sure to read James Mudge’s snappy review by clicking right here. Here’s a quick synopsis for those in the dark: Chapter one, written and directed by Ryuta Miyake, stars Akina Minami as a high girl with a 6th sense named Akane who starts having disturbing visions of a childhood best friend who recently died in a family murder-suicide.

The official website for Colorful, the latest animated film by Keiichi Hara (Summer Days with Coo), has been updated with a full trailer. This one opens and closes with a live-action shot of actress Kumiko Aso reading from Eto Mori’s original novel.
The story involves a spirit referred to only as “boku” (me) who has recently died. “Congratulations! You’ve won the lottery!”, an angel informs him. In order to learn from his mistakes and to get a second shot at life, the spirit is put in the body of Makoto, a 14-year-old who recently committed suicide. While his life in this new body is pretty easy at first, it isn’t long before he understands why the previous resident chose his fate, as he’s now stuck in the same situation Makoto was and forced to deal with the confusing eccentricities of his family and friends. However, he...

The Ju-on series is one that just refuses to die. We previously had a look at the combo trailer for the two new entries in the franchise, Ju-on: Shiroi Roujo and Ju-on: Kuroi Shojo, and now a new version has hit the Net.
Nippon Cinema pointed us toward the Toei Channel for the recut trailers, which have subtle differences with what was released previously. Nippon also provided more detailed synopses for the films:
Ju-on: Shiroi Roujo, written and directed by Ryuta Miyake, stars Akina Minami as a high school girl with a sixth sense named Akane, who starts having disturbing visions of a childhood best friend who recently died in a family murder-suicide.
Ju-on: Kuroi Shojo, written and directed by Mari Asato, stars Ai Kago as a nurse named Yuko who cares for a young girl who has a strange cyst inside her body. The cyst turns out to be...
