The X Factor knows how to create drama. From the blast of 'O Fortuna' as Simon Cowell and his buddies enter the stage, to former voiceover man Peter Dickson hamming it up, they've got the atmosphere nailed.
One of the most exciting elements of the show will always be the big Sunday night eliminations, especially if the dreaded Deadlock comes into play. Most of the time, the judges get it right, but sometimes there are downright shocks. Here are the biggest to date, brought to you in association with TalkTalk's new Bopheads app:
1. Laura White (series 5)
Wigan lass Laura was tipped for X Factor success in 2008's early stages, but found herself in a tough girls group with the public's favourite indie fairy Diana Vickers and future victor Alexandra Burke. Even so, no-one expected her to leave as early as the fifth week, especially with Ricky Gervais lookalike Daniel Evans still knocking around.

Dannii Minogue is scheduled to return to The X Factor later this summer, however insiders say the star is worried about uprooting her family and moving to the UK for six months.
The Australian presenter is currently enjoying some maternity leave, after giving birth to her first child Ethan earlier this month. Dannii is due to film the judges houses stage of the show at her new home in Melbourne in August/September and to return to the UK for live shows in October, however friends close to the star say that she is starting to have second thoughts.
A pal told new! magazine:

X Factor’s John and Edward Grimes have lost their record deal after releasing just one single.
After their debut track ‘Under Pressure (Ice Ice Baby)’ failed to claim the number one spot and slipped to number 12 the next week, Sony decided to drop the hyperactive twins.
An insider told The Sun:
“We tried our best to make the lads credible recording artists but punters just weren’t that bothered.
“They are great lads but haven’t got the greatest voices, so they’re something to see rather than listen to.
“Record companies are going through major upheaval so we have to be very careful what we throw our weight behind. I’m sure Jedward will be able to make a buck touring as a novelty act.”
Louis Walsh is standing by the boys and told the newspaper:
“I’m completely committed to Jedward and I know they still have a great career ahead.

The X Factor acts are getting ready to unveil their new charity single, ‘You Are Not Alone.’ However I wonder how they will feel when they find out that Simon Cowell actually hates the song?
Laura White sang the song during last year’s X Factor week, in his critique of her performance Simon said (jump to 4.49 on the clip above):
“The fact you managed to make that song sound good is a miracle.”
I wonder why he chose the track for this years charity song then? Surely he isn’t playing up to the current Mj hysteria….

The 21-year-old singer, who was voted off in the fifth live show last year, explained that she wants to repay her supporters by passing over control of her career. Speaking to the Leigh Journal, she revealed: "It's been absolutely amazing, and the fans are just really excited. I honestly decided to do this because the fans kept me going after the show, as it was just such a shock when my time at The X Factor came to an end for me and of course my fans. The X Factor contestants will reportedly get paid as little as £100 per gig on their forthcoming UK tour. According to The Mirror, boyband Jls will only get £100 each at some gigs. Meanwhile, acts such as Daniel Evans, Eoghan Quigg and Laura White will apparently receive £250 per show. The report alleges that all their wages will be taxed, while they must also give 20% commission to their agents and even have to pay their own expenses. "The acts are worth much more, especially when you think how much money the tour generates," said a source. "A show at London's 20,000-capacity O2 arena will make as much as £600,000 in tickets alone, and more when lucrative (more)...
