Welcome to this review of 2023’s All Out pay-per-view, which once again emanated from Chicago and the United Center. Welcome back to another review of Aew Dark: Elevation, which features only Four(!) matches this week and a show that only runs twenty-two(!) minutes. Once again we’ve got Elevation regulars Paul Wight and Matt Menard on commentary. So let’s get into the review!
Match #1: Maki Itoh def. Ashley D’Amboise
My Thoughts: Always good to see Ashley D’Amboise in an Aew ring and on top of that we get the legend that is Maki Itoh in this match too! If I’m honest this one felt a little “off” – which can often occur when styles clash or aren’t as compatible as they could be.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Jericho Appreciation Society def. Mike Magnum, Jack Tomlinson, and Zack Clayton
My Thoughts: I’ve got to be honest, the Jas is getting really old now. And no disrespect to the trio involved in this match...

Match #1: Skye Blue def. Tfa (Taryn from Accounting)
My Thoughts: This was a pretty decent and competitive opener for this week’s show and both women delivered throughout the match. Great to see Tfa get some exposure via Aew too.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Jake Hager def. Adam Knight
My Thoughts: Adam Knight looked like he might give Jake Hager a run for his money, especially given how competitive the previous match was, but no. This was a squash of the highest order with Hager eventually hitting Knight with a Vader Bomb to get the win!

Match #1: Emi Sakura def. Zyra
My Thoughts: Once again Emi Sakura lets her opponent show what she’s got in a quasi-squash match for Aew. Sakura could totally dominate her opponents week after week but the fact she doesn’t says a lot about the wrestler she is. I’m digging this singles run Sakura is on right now too!

Another week, another episode of Aew: Dark which this week features seven matches… Including a Women’s Roh title match! Anyway, on with the review.
Match #1: Juice Robinson def. Travis Williams
My Thoughts: Juice Robinson makes another appearance for Aew and faces some decent competition in Travis Williams. This was a well-paced, competitive, start to Dark.
My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #2: Ruby Soho & Willow Nightingale def. Emi Sakura & Diamante
My Thoughts: The new team of Ruby Soho & Willow Nightingale get another outing, this time against the heel team of Emi Sakura & Diamante, who have worked together before and delivered each and every time. And the same is the case here, with Soho and Nightgale really gelling – I’d definitely like to see them stay together as a team for a while longer even though I’d like to see Willow Nightingale make her way up the singles scene too.

Another week, another episode of Aew: Dark which features 7 matches on the card this week (thankfully; I do love a shorter show)… On with the review!
Match #1: Varsity Athletes (Tony Nese & Josh Woods) def. Rosario Grillo & Dean Alexander

My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Willow Nightingale def. Marina Shafir
My Thoughts: Who would’ve thought that it would take Willow Nightingale to get a great match out of Marina Shafir?! Good to see such a good match and Willow get the win!

My Thoughts: This was a short and sweet match, with Wheeler Yuta once again coming out of the match looking strong.

A 6’4 tall All-American American wrestler who seemed to be this generation’s Kurt Angle. When Jake Hager aka Jack Swagger made his presence known in the Ecw brand, you can instantly tell that the company was grooming him for greatness. It didn’t take long for Swagger to win the Ecw Championship. Though the company fumbled by having him drop his undefeated streak in a non-title match, Swagger still carried a lot of momentum thanks to the careful booking of the up-and-coming superstar. However, a key thing about Jack Swagger was he had a clear lisp, which did hamper his promos

Before the existence of All Elite Wrestling, another wrestling company came along and revolutionized the business: Lucha Underground. For four seasons, the professional wrestling promotion featured premiere athletes fighting in the underground temple by using action, characters, and cinematic presentation. Before cinematic matches existed in WWE, Aew, or Impact Wrestling, they were born in Lucha Underground. Plenty of big names came and went throughout the 127 episodes. Former WWE Champion Rey Mysterio, former WWE United States Champion Ricochet, former Aew World Tag Team Champion Pentagon Dark, Jake Strong (Aew’s Jake Hager), Brian Cage, Johnny Mundo, Fenix, Killshot (Shane Strickland), and

Welcome to this review of this weeks episode of Aew: Dark, I’m editor Phil and this weeks episode of Dark is Not from Aew Universal, instead this was filmed on the road in St. Louis and the larger crowd definitely makes a difference. Oh, and we’re back to nearly two hours of wrestling this week too!
Match #1: The Gunn Club def. Dark Order
My Thoughts: You’ve got to feel sorry for the Dark Order having to give up a winning streak to the Gunn Club of all people. I have no idea why Aew is insisting on having Billy Gunn and his two sons have an undefeated streak – it’s not like they’re remarkable wrestlers, they personify the midcard/jobber role perfectly and Dark Order are way above that station; and they have great skills to back that up. Uno, Reynolds and Cabana made this match work.

There were several good matches on All Out, but the bad (three 0 matches and Matt Hardy’s injury debacle) just brought the show down to some-thing I just couldn’t rate well at all. There were some growing pains, but All Elite Wrestling has been able to hold its own during the days of Covid. In their last PPV, Double or Nothing 2020, they played up the situation with what’s probably the best ever use of the cinematic wrestling match gimmck with the Stadium Stampede. Now they’re getting ready for their next big PPV, Aew All Out 2020.
There’s some history behind the name of this PPV. Aew’s prototype show back in September 2018 was called All In, which centered around various wrestling promotions and indie talent working together. Aew officially launched a few months later and around its anniversary they had the first All Out. It gave us the crowning of the first Aew Champion in Chris Jericho, an all-women Casino Battle Royal, the surprise debut of Orange Cassidy, and the first (and hopefully not last) Cracker Barrel Clash.

Chris Jericho’s Inner Circle faction in Aew has a lot of similarities to the nWo in WCW. It’s headlined by a main-event level wrestler, who made the unforeseen jump to the new promotion, and Jericho, like Hogan in 1996, demands and expects to be treated like a god.
Much like how the nWo started — before it grew into an over-inflated group of egomaniacs — the Inner Circle has the star (Jericho), the tag team (Ortiz and Santana) the up-and-comer (Sammy Guevara) and the muscle (Jake Hager).
The group is also starting to take on some less-than-desirable nWo characteristics. Perhaps the most glaring is the silliness. Ever since the Covid-19 pandemic forced Aew and the rest of pro wrestling into shows without live audiences, Jericho’s group seems to be getting goofier and goofier.

The nWo did some comedy in the late-90s. But for the most part, the butt of...

I…aw crlrlrlrlrlrlrlrlrlap, they brlrlrlrlrlrlrlrlrlrlrloke. Match #1: #Ftr (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) def. The Butcher & The Blade The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
“A lot of people are interested in this team,” said Jim Ross about #Ftr. “They’re the hottest free agents!” added Jericho. Tully Blanchard was shown scouting them from the seats, as was Arn Anderson. #Ftr tagged in and out and worked over The Blade’s arm, cutting off the ring in half. The Butcher and Cash Wheeler slugged it out. Cash lured in...

Welcome to this week’s Aew: Dynamite review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we’ve got more phantom zone matches to get to, which is actually quite entertaining to me. Having no crowds has been very liberating and I hope it starts to become a trend when the crowds do get to return. Okay, we’ve got a Aaa title match to get to, so shaddup and…read? That’s a let-down. Just go watch the matches instead, you kook.
Match #1: Cody Rhodes defeated Jimmy Havoc The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
Brandi Rhodes was the ring announcer tonight! She gave Cody a kiss as he entered the ring. Havoc got Cody down with some leg sweeps, and an arm drag. Cody used his bulk and brawn to push Havoc into the corner, but Havoc rolled through for a near fall. “I think the...

Welcome to this week’s Aew Dark review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and no, I’m not prettier than Margot Robbie. On this episode of FBI, Chuck Conners guest stars as Nick Maylor, a career criminal whose plans to assassinate the new mayor of Houston, Texas, the African-American radio host-turned politician Victor Jones Namath, must be stopped before it’s too late. That didn’t sound too bad coming from a second-rate hand-jockey like me, but you’re just stuck with my Aew review instead. I bet you wish that FBI episode was up next, rather than this s—, don’t you? Well, not as much as I wish that I was getting paid to write that episode…$5000…(drooling). At least I have this TalkTech s— here to dictate whatever I write…except it won’t delete any of the dumb things I say (which is...

Welcome to this week’s Aew Dynamite review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and Jenna Fischer is not married to me. Are you kidding? That woman would kick my ass if she had to wake-up to my slab of bacon schmuck mug. Okay, we’ve got Chris Jericho’s big-ass hissy fit for losing the World Title and Jon Moxley celebrating like a pirate in Alabama.
Match #1: Colt Cabana & Scu defeated The Dark Order The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
“The Dark Order are the #1 ranked tag team in Aew,” noted Tony Schiavone. After some classic catch-wrestling, Colt took down Grayson with head scissors. The Dark Order swarmed Colt, until Colt finally got the tag and Scu evened up the odds. Silver isolated Daniels while the Dark Order began to work over CD in their corner. Grayson stomped down on Daniels chest, then tagged Silver...

Match #1: Dark Order defeated Scu The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
The Dark Order vs. SoCal Uncensored (Scorpio Sky and Frankie Kazarian) was the opening contest of Aew Revolution’s Buy In! Seasoned vet Frankie tried to cut the ring in half with offense. The Dark Order outmanned Frankie on the outside, and they began stomping a mud hole in him. The crowd was chanting “Spooky perverts!” at the Dark Order. Sky got the hot tag and caught Grayson with the Manhattan drop! The Dark Order used...
