Well, Brellies, I have bad news and good news. The bad news is that we are unfortunately on the precipice of the fourth and final season of Netflix's adaption of "The Umbrella Academy." It's bad news because as much as we wish this show and all of the adventures of the Hargreeves Siblings would last forever, Netflix's decision to end the show after this season isn't going to change. The good news, fortunately, is that we've finally gotten a teaser trailer for the finale season, so we don't have to worry about the series facing a similar fate as "Glow" or "The Santa Clarita Diet." Based on the comic book series by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, "The Umbrella Academy" season 4 is bringing back all of our faves like Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya, and Colm Feore,...

The Umbrellas (and one Sparrow) are back in the first teaser trailer for The Umbrella Academy‘s fourth and final season.
The trailer, set to a remix of “The Final Countdown,” teases the show’s “final timeline” after three seasons of the main cast’s time-traveling, universe-saving adventures.
The Umbrella Academy season four will pick up after the climactic showdown at the Hotel Oblivion which resulted in a reset of their timeline and left the original crew stripped of their various powers.
The result leaves the fan-favorite siblings to “fend for themselves and find a new normal with wildly varying degrees of success,” the show’s description reads. “Yet the trappings of their uncanny new world prove too hard to ignore for very long. Their father Reginald, alive and well, has stepped out of the shadows and into the public eye, overseeing a powerful and nefarious business empire.”

Netflix has released the teaser trailer for the fourth and final season of its superhero series “The Umbrella Academy.” The footage, set to the tune of Europe’s 1986 song “The Final Countdown,” sees the Hargreeves siblings stepping out of their regular lives, prepping to band together one last time.
Based on the graphic novel series written by Gerard Way and illustrated by Gabriel Bá, the beloved series follows a family of adopted siblings with superpowers working to prevent the end of the world. This season, the Hargreeves are confronted with a new trial: living a normal life. Season 3 saw the siblings lose their superpowers after a complete universe reset.
Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya and Colm Feore all return to the series. Min’s Ben Hargreeves uses his octopus-like tentacles to fling a foe during a fight scene in the trailer.

As John Wick spin-off Ballerina goes back before the cameras, the cast expands for the movie, which is now set for release in 2025.
Earlier this year came the news that that first John Wick spin-off movie, Ballerina, was being delayed for a full year. Originally set for release this summer, and with a fan trailer already doing the rounds, Ballerina has now been put back to mid-2025. That’s to build in time for what sounds like fairly sizeable reshoot work.
Len Wiseman has directed the movie, and John Wick’s Chad Stahelski is now reportedly helping with fresh action sequences for the film. We also get news too that the reshoots are adding at least two new roles as well.
David Castaneda, of The Umbrella Academy, is taking one of them. Sharon Duncan-Brewster of Sex Education is taking the other. They’ll join an ensemble that’s led by Ana de Armas,...

Exclusive: Lionsgate’s female-driven John Wick spinoff Ballerina has added David Castañeda (The Umbrella Academy) and Sharon Duncan-Brewster (Sex Education) to its cast amid reshoots abroad, Deadline can reveal.
Word of the castings comes at a newsy time in the world of John Wick, as word has emerged of a Wick series in the works, alongside an animated series adaptation of Twilight.
Ballerina watches as a young female assassin (Ana de Armas) trained in the traditions of the Ruska Roma seeks revenge against the people who killed her family — as did Wick against those who have did him wrong, in films released between 2014 and 2019. After signing a new deal with Lionsgate expanding his oversight of the John Wick franchise, of which he was the architect, Chad Stahelski is working with Ballerina helmer Len Wiseman to shape new action sequences for the film.

If you’re looking for a cast good about talking around and making fans excited about what’s to come without revealing anything whatsoever, look no further than The Umbrella Academy. As part of Netflix Geeked Week, the streaming service released a new featurette with the stars alongside glances at a table read, as well as a new poster (look at it closely below) ahead of the fourth and final season premiering in 2024. The new season is filled with “excitement, surprises, [and] humor,” says Elliot Page (Viktor Hargreeves). “Twists, turns, action, of course.” Aidan Gallagher (Number Five) has fun acknowledging the fact that they can’t say anything, while others do try to tease what’s to come a bit. It’s “still very, very wacky,” according to David Castañeda (Diego Hargreeves), as well as “bittersweet.” Netflix Emmy Raver-Lampman (Allison Hargreeves) promises episodes “really, really packed with the classic Umbrella Academy...

The superpowered Hargreeves siblings (aka The Umbrella Academy) have saved the world three times now and can't seem to stop winding up in an altered timeline, but will they be able to do it again in their last hurrah? The original Netflix series exists in a world where one day in 1989, 43 infants were born at random to mothers who showed no signs of being pregnant that day before. Eccentric billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves (Colm Feore) managed to adopt seven of them and train them to be a part of a superhero faction called The Umbrella Academy. The siblings each have various powers and personalities, but this dysfunctional family finds a way to work together no matter what. After all, the universe depends on them.

We’ve seen multiple streaming companies remove titles from their service over the last year in a bid to save money, and Deadline has reported that Roku has joined them. The outlet reports that Roku has begun removing a handful of titles from their service, including Most Dangerous Game starring Christoph Waltz.
Most Dangerous Game began life as a Quibi Original (remember that mess?) before it was salvaged by Roku, who renewed the series for a second season. After learning that he will soon die from a terminal illness and desperate to provide for his pregnant wife, Dodge Maynard (Liam Hemsworth) accepts an invitation from a mysterious man (Christoph Waltz) to participate in a deadly game of survival. Each hour Dodge survives will earn him more money, for a total of $24.5 million if he survives the full 24 hours.

Exclusive: Roku has begun removing titles including scripted shows Most Dangerous Game starring Christoph Waltz and Slip from Zoe Lister-Jones.
It is the latest streamer to remove titles from its service following similar moves by Paramount+, Disney+, Warner Bros. Discovery’s Max and AMC Networks.
Roku revealed yesterday that it was set to remove some content as part of a cost-cutting drive that also saw around 300 employees laid off. It said that it would take a hit of between $55M-$65M for removing “select existing licensed and produced content from company-operated services on its TV streaming platform”.
The company will, however, continue to order original series and sources note that this process is part of its regular review of programming.

One of the hottest Emmy contenders for the 2023 comedy categories is “Poker Face” for NBC and Peacock. Created by Rian Johnson, the mystery show stars Emmy nominee Natasha Lyonne as Charlie, who has an extraordinary ability to determine if someone is lying. That is not good news for the murderers she encounters on her cross-country escape from a threat in Las Vegas.
Each guest star is virtually a lead performer for their one and only episode of the 10 first season installments. We see who is killed in the opening moments of an episode, and then Charlie enters to figure things out. The show is much in the style of the landmark mystery series “Columbo,” with touches from “Murder, She Wrote,” “The Incredible Hulk” and “The Rockford Files” as well.

Manjeri (Kerala), April 12 (Ians) A sublime finish from Rilwan Hassan and a stunning volley from captain David Castaneda helped I-League runners-up Sreenidi Deccan Football Club cruise past Isl heavyweights Kerala Blasters Fc 2-0 in a Group A clash for the Hero Super Cup at the Ems Stadium, Kozhikode on Wednesday.
Sreenidi Deccan head coach Carlos Manuel Vaz Pinto had stressed in the pre-match interaction that his side had everything to prove against the team from Kerala. And on the day they did so in style, kicking off with the same confidence which earned them a precious point against Bengaluru Fc in their opener.

Manjeri (Kerala), April 5 (Ians) I-League runners-up Sreenidi Deccan Fc left it late to edge past Neroca Fc 4-2 in the Hero Super Cup Qualifiers at the Payyanad Stadium here on Wednesday.
With this win, Sreenidi Deccan joined Bengaluru Fc, Kerala Blasters Fc and I-League champions RoundGlass Punjab Fc in Group A of the Hero Super Cup, which begins on April 8.
It was smooth sailing for Sreenidi Deccan for the opening hour as they were two goals up through their usual target men Faysal Shayesteh and David Castaneda.
However, Neroca, who came from behind to eliminate Rajasthan United on penalties in the qualifying play-off less than 48 hours ago, had no intentions of going down easily.
The Orange Brigade levelled things up at 2-2 with just 10 minutes to go, but their fightback went in vain when Rilwan Hassan put the game to bed with two injury-time goals for Sreenidi.

Panchkula, March 13 (Ians) Already crowned champions a week ago, RoundGlass Punjab ended the I-League season in style with yet another convincing 2-0 victory over Trau Fc here at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium.
Staikos Vergetis’s men finished with 52 points from 22 matches, becoming the first champion side to cross the 50-point mark since Churchill Brothers in 2012-13.
Aiff president Kalyan Chaubey presented the prizes in a simple ceremony. Aiff Executive Committee Member and Aiff Futsal Committee chairman Vijay Bali was also present.
The icing on the cake for RoundGlass Punjab was Slovenian forward Luka Majcen’s brace on the night, which allowed him to surpass David Castaneda’s tally and win the Golden Boot with 16 goals.
Tiddim Road Athletic Union (Trau) knew before kick-off that they would finish fourth even if they manage to beat this season’s I-League champions, as Gokulam Kerala cemented third place by beating Sreenidi Deccan earlier in the day.

Kozhikode, March 12 (Ians) Gokulam Kerala secured third place in the I-League 2022-23 after registering a 1-0 victory against Sreenidi Deccan at the Ems Stadium, on Sunda.
In the penultimate game of the season, Gokulam Kerala’s Sergio Mendigutxia’s second-half penalty proved to be the decisive goal. The hosts however also owed their victory to the heroics of Shibinraj Kunniyil in goal. Kunniyil was rightly adjudged the Hero of the Match for his outstanding performance, reports I-League.
Both Gokulam Kerala and Sreenidi Deccan started the game cautiously, with nothing much to separate them. Ramhlunchhunga was the standout player for the visitors and made some promising moves in the final third, but unfortunately, he couldn’t convert the chances that fell his way.
For the hosts Noufal was a hub of activity on the right wing, providing service to the Gokulam forwards, who failed to capitalize on his deliveries. In the 25th minute,...

Warning: This article contains major spoilers for the eighth and ninth episodes of "Poker Face" season 1.
If you scroll through the "Poker Face" subreddit or any other fan forum around the show, you'll often find viewers (who otherwise seem to enjoy the series) complaining about one recurring aspect: Doesn't Charlie (Natasha Lyonne) think it's strange that people keep getting murdered everywhere she goes? "The way she just keeps stumbling upon murders/attempted murders in each episode really takes me out of it," one Reddit user wrote. "I hope they offer some sort of explanation for this in season 2...even if it's fantastical."
Indeed, the show has yet to provide any explanation for this strange phenomenon Charlie's found herself in the middle of. Not only are there no answers provided, but Charlie herself doesn't seem to notice what's going on either. She appears to remember the events of previous episodes, sure,...

The penultimate episode of "Poker Face" season 1, "Escape From S*** Mountain," saw our favorite lie-detector Charlie Cale (Natasha Lyonne) avenge three murders and narrowly escape an early grave herself.
This episode is also the third and final episode that creator Rian Johnson personally directed this season. Johnson wears his filmmaking influences on his sleeve, like how "The Last Jedi" includes a casino-set crane shot homaging 1927 silent classic "Wings." Johnson is also the first director to get a "Vertigo" dolly-zoom into a "Star Wars" movie. [This story contains spoilers to the penultimate episode of season one of Poker Face, “Escape From Shit Mountain.”]
By the time Poker Face viewers hit play on “Escape From Shit Mountain,” the audience for the Natasha Lyonne-starring murder mystery series knows what to expect: There will be a murder, and Charlie Cale (Lyonne) needs to solve it.
But, what happens when the target is Charlie Cale?
The ninth and penultimate episode in the first season of the hit Peacock series created by Rian Johnson plays with the show’s howcatchem format, bending its own rules the most yet. There have been surprises in previous episodes (“The Future of the Sport” saw zero deaths, while last week’s installment, “The Orpheus Syndrome,” claimed three fatalities). But none have put the show’s protagonist closer to death’s door than “Escape From Shit Mountain.”

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Poker Face, Season 1, Episode 9, “Escape From S**t Mountain.”] Poker Face delivered one of its darkest entries yet with the stakes-heavy “Escape from S**t Mountain,” in which Charlie Cale (Natasha Lyonne) is fighting for her life after a hit-and-run accident lands her in a precarious position. The episode reunites episode writer and director Rian Johnson with Brick and Looper collaborator Joseph Gordon-Levitt who plays house arrestee, Trey. Relegated to the confines of his cushy mountain-set mansion, a power outage knocks the signal from his ankle monitor prompting him to take a reckless joy ride in his fancy sports car. After narrowly avoiding a deer, he ends up hitting Charlie who is stranded in her broken-down car. Knocked unconscious, Charlie is transported in Trey’s trunk to a nearby motel where he seeks help from an old friend, Jimmy (Umbrella Academy‘s David Castañeda) who reluctantly assists the jerk-ish man...

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers from “Poker Face” Episode 9, “Escape From Shit Mountain,” now streaming on Peacock.

Exclusive: Peacock has an ace up its sleeve with Rian Johnson‘s Poker Face.
The series jumped to No. 2 on Nielsen’s U.S. streaming originals list for the week of January 30 to February 5 with 641M minutes viewed. That’s up from the 547M viewing minutes it managed in its first week on Peacock, with its four-episode debut.
The No. 1 spot on the streaming originals list once again went to Ginny & Georgia, though it’s worth nothing that the Netflix series had 20 available episodes to help bolster its 900M viewing minutes for the week.
In terms of average audience, Poker Face takes the top spot since the series only had five episodes available at the time.
Poker Face, which hails from MRC and T-Street and stars Natasha Lyonne, scored an early Season 2 renewal in February. New episodes of Season 1 are currently debuting every Thursday through March 9. This week’s episode is directed by Johnson.

[Editor’s Note: This article contains spoilers for “Poker Face” Season 1, Episode 9.]
After more than 15 years of working together, it’s only fitting that Rian Johnson would give the most pivotal “Poker Face” cameo to longtime collaborator Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Gordon-Levitt appears in the penultimate episode of “Poker Face” Season 1 as Trey, a white-collar criminal under house arrest who turns out to be guilty of multiple murders — and brutally stabbing protagonist Charlie Cale (Natasha Lyonne).
“That scene was just a classic well orchestrated crescendo from Rian,” Gordon-Levitt told IndieWire ahead of the Episode 9 premiere. “He had such a clear vision of exactly what he wanted, especially down to this moment… I don’t know if I’ve ever quite got to do that ultra-cinematic image of stabbing another person in the chest with a knife, and it stands to reason that it would be on a Rian Johnson set that I finally got to do it.”
Unlike the chaotic fight between Lyonne,...

[This story contains major spoilers to the penultimate episode in season one of Poker Face, “Escape From Shit Mountain.”]
After delighting audiences with his unsuspecting cameos, Joseph Gordon-Levitt finally steps back into Rian Johnson’s frame on Poker Face.

For the penultimate episode of Poker Face‘s first season, Gordon-Levitt was able to take on a starring guest role for the pivotal installment, “Escape From Shit Mountain,” which was written by showrunners Nora and Lilla Zuckerman and directed by Johnson.
