Sade is that rarity in Grammy history -- a Best New Artist living up to their potential. in 1985, this English R&B band fronted by the silky-voiced Sade Adu prevailed against A-Ha, Freddie Jackson, Katrina and the Waves and Julian Lennon. Since then, the group has preferred to concentrate on quality over quantity, releasing just four more studio albums. In 1993, Sade won Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals for "No Ordinary Love" from "Love Deluxe" over tunes from Boyz II Men, Earth, Wind & Fire, En Vogue and Tony! Toni! Tone!. And In 2001, they won Best Pop Vocal Album for "Lovers Rock" besting discs by Nelly Furtado, Janet Jackson, Elton John and 'Nsync.
