Brandt Hackney
- Cinematographer
- Camera and Electrical Department
Brandt Hackney's cinematography has been honored by the likes of ShotDeck and viewed by millions. His global debut as cinematographer was Thailand's first Netflix Original film, The Maid (2020), quickly followed by The Lake (2022) and Kitty The Killer (2023). Upcoming works include The A-Frame, Definitely Not A Monster, and The Snake Queen.
Brandt usually divides his time among Los Angeles, his home state of Kentucky (where competitive tax incentives bring in numerous opportunities and compelling stories), and Southeast Asia, while continually expanding his work in various markets.
He gives credit to summer boredom, which led to picking up a JVC camera in his teens, and his time in film school and the friendships he made there, for putting him on a fulfilling path in film. Brandt met his wife Audra Todd on the set of The Hopewell Haunting and the two have collaborated on many projects since.
