Elias was inspired to move to LA to pursue his composing and acting careers when George S. Clinton (composer of the Austin Powers and Mortal Kombat franchises) addressed the student body at Montana State University. Clinton subsequently told Elias that composing for film is like owning a fruit stand, but the only place to really sell the fruit is in Los Angeles. Elias moved to LA shortly thereafter.
Elias created the original score for the short film, "Water's Handle Music" which won the Medallion Award at the 2009 Washougal International Film Festival.
