Disney’s “Goosebumps” series scared up solid opening figures after premiering its debut episode at Nycc on Friday, delivering 4.2 million total views for its first episode in its first three days of availability streaming on Hulu and Disney+.

Based on the popular books by R.L. Stine, the new series follows a group of five high schoolers who, after unleashing a host of supernatural forces on their town, must combine efforts to save it.
While it’s not an exact comparison, “Loki” Season 2 garnered 10.9 million views in its first three days of availability after premiering earlier this month. The measurement, which has been recently adopted by Disney and Netflix,...

Spoiler Alert: This post contains details of tonight’s The Walking Dead 11C midseason debut, the first of the final eight episodes of the series.
“Okay, this ends now,” exclaims murderous Commonwealth deputy governor Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton) in the first of the final eight episodes of The Walking Dead that debuted tonight on AMC. Of course, this being the zombie apocalypse series careening towards its November 20 series finale and a trio of spinoffs to come, it isn’t really over. At least not when Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) suddenly has a knife to Hornsby’s neck and ambushes the ambush.
Kicking off with new opening credits and cranking up the gore and betrayal volume, the Greg Nicotero directed, and Julia Ruchman penned “Lockdown” picked up not long after the events of April 10’s Acts of God episode. The Walking Dead Season 11 Episode 17
The opening moments of this week’s The Walking Dead premiere reach deeply into the show’s history, showing a selection of moments that go back to the very first moments of “Days Gone Bye” and carry forward to the current day, with Daryl clearing Walkers while attempting to hide from the show’s latest in a long line of smiling threats, Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton). One of the fun realizations from the cold opening is that the cavalcade of villains, from Shane Walsh through to Negan Smith, tend to be smiling more often than not, while our heroes look serious about the business of survival in a world dominated by the dead. There must be some sort of appeal to giving into the darkness that thrives in petty power-hungry wannabes like Hornsby and Sebastian Milton (Teo Rapp-Olsson...

The Walking Dead Season 10 Episode 20
The Walking Dead has made a lot of hay with their six bonus episodes following the pandemic-shortened season 10. Rather than doing a ton of world-building or doing too much to push into territory best covered in season 11, they’ve doubled down on character pieces. Maggie, Daryl, Aaron and Gabriel, and now Princess have all come into focus, allowing the show’s creative team to work on digging into their characters, rather than providing much elaboration on big world-building events. I can’t speak for everyone else, but for me, those episodes have been the best kind of bottle episodes. They’re creative, despite being contained in small areas, and they’ve provided crucial enrichment for characters, filling in time gaps without forcing a whole story arc to grind to a halt for a side-quest.

The Walking Dead Season 10 Episode 15
Here in the United States, I’ve been working from home for three weeks. I’ve gone to grocery stores and to pick up take-out meals, usually about once a week, but except for those few limited escapes and the occasional walk around my neighborhood (keeping appropriate social distance), I’ve been inside. I work, hang out, then I go to bed within the same four walls. Even for someone like me, who loves canceling plans and staying home, it’s getting to be a bit much, so I completely understand just why Princess (Paola Lazaro) makes such an immediate, aggressive attempt to make friends with Ezekiel, Eugene, and Yumiko. She’s lonely, she’s been talking to no one but the walkers she’s used to make dioramas, and humans are social creatures by default.
No one’s built for solitude.

[The following story contains spoilers for season 10, episode 15 of AMC's The Walking Dead, "The Tower."]
And that's a wrap on The Walking Dead season ten — for now, at least.
From director Laura Belsey and writers Kevin Deiboldt and Julia Ruchman, "The Tower" was originally (and technically still) designed to serve as the penultimate episode of the AMC zombie drama's tenth season. Instead, it's the last episode for the foreseeable future, as the global pandemic has made it impossible to complete post-production on the season finale in time.
The result: "The Tower,...

Spoiler Alert: This post contains details of tonight’s The Walking Dead Season 10 midseason finale.
“There’s more story to tell with Michonne within the season coming up, but that’s been one of the things that’s been really fun to work on,” The Walking Dead’s Angela Kang asserts of the much-anticipated departure of Danai Gurira’s sword-wielding character. “We spent some time mapping this out, because she only had limited episodes with us this year,” the showrunner added as Michonne took to the seas in tonight’s Season 10 midseason finale search of a promised arsenal of weapons that could ensure a last peace for the cadre of survivors on the AMC zombie apocalypse drama.
Coming off the killing of the traumatized Siddiq (Avi Nash) in last week’s second to last Twd of 2019, tonight’s Julia Ruchman-penned “The World Before” not only opened the door to...

The Walking Dead Season 10 Episode 8
“The World Before” leaves The Walking Dead in a strange spot. On one hand, it sets up a couple of effective cliffhangers, but on the other hand, it also seems to drag its feet a lot getting to those cliffhangers, introducing a new character out of the blue and taking what feels like a long time to get the other characters trapped in their cliffhanger situation. In between that, there are a lot of probing conversations between characters about feelings, usually bookended with a big hug and teary eyes after the fact.
The emotions playing on the surface make sense. The survivors have been trapped in a stressful situation for months, if not years, and the...

Covert Affairs is a surprisingly smart espionage procedural which is simultaneously built on the unrealistic TV tradition of Bond Girls and a more realistic tradition of espionage procedurals.
Female spies on TV have always been heavily influenced by Bond Girls, although TV influenced Bond as well. Two of the earliest female spies on TV, Cathy Gale...
