Neil Colango is a Vancouver-based Production Designer, Art director, and Props master in the Entertainment Industry. He focuses on Props as his primary function in feature and TV productions. Born and raised in Bacolod City, Philippines, he was mentored by legendary Filipino filmmaker Peque Gallaga, theatre director Gabriel Fernandez, and renowned Production Designer Rodell Cruz during his formative years. Their influence has helped him develop into one of the top young Art directors of his generation, specializing in Advertising and Feature films.
Because of his diverse background in production and performing arts, Neil is a hybrid Film industry technician in the Properties and Art Department, recognized by his peers for his speed, creativity, and resourcefulness under pressure. Neil is an accomplished member of the Properties and Art Department within the jurisdiction of IATSE Local 891 in British Columbia and the Yukon Territory. In addition, he also has a sister local membership with IATSE 212 in Alberta, Canada. As a member of the Properties Department, he has worked with the likes of Senior Propmasters David Dowling, Spencer Louttit, D. Martin Myatt, Haida Harper, Dean Goodine, Max Matsouka, Santino Barile, Kenny Gibbs, Andrea Tully, Jason Hedley, Robin Stooshnov and Michelle Hendriksen.
His credits include high profile projects like Universal Pictures "Bourne Legacy", HBO's "Peacemaker", Apple's "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters", Netflix's "Voir", "The Mother" & "Midnight Mass", CW's "The 100", and "Survivor USA & Survivor Philippines". He is passionate about teaching younger film technicians and engaging with Art students through projects by using his practical experience & education. He has designed short films "Alien: Ore", "Parabola", "Sol", "In Loving Memory", "Gemini", "The Day We Met', "Karaoke Mamas", And "Jane" among others.
When he isn't on set, he enjoys spending time with his friends and family or travelling when he can in his downtime.
