Mrunmayee Lagoo, the writer of the streaming show ‘Scoop’, has shared the reason behind the show going beyond the scope of the book ‘Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison’ which is the source material for the book.
She told that the world of print media intrigued the makers and a lot of meat for the show’s story was in the events that predated the jail time of Jigna Vora, the author of the book who was also a crime reporter.
Mrunmayee said: “To go beyond the book, we realised quite early that we will have to focus on the lead character’s journey and to see the kind of person that she was and what she was chasing and then see her go through all of this. It would be safe to say that she was made a scapegoat and the reason we wanted to go beyond...

In every show we watch lately, regardless of the genre, there are plenty of characters that come across as gray, which means we cannot seem to decide if we like the person or not. But there are times when there are inherently good characters, and what makes them respectable is the way the person in the show is structured by the writers. Mrunmayee Lagoo, Hansal Mehta, and Mirat Trivedi gave us Imran Siddiqui through Scoop, who was the epitome of a good person. Creator and director Hansal Mehta showcased Imran in the hope that there would be people who would pick up some of the strength he showed and take the path of righteousness, but was it easy for Imran to do that?
The show begins with Imran Siddiqui being showcased as a friend and mentor to Jagruti Pathak, who has been working under him for years and has grown...

Immediate reaction when the end credits roll
Thappad is Anubhav Sinha?s biggest and most excellent contribution to cinema. This unforgettable, unmissable, triumph of humanity and womanhood is a masterwork of great symbolic art on screen, with Tapsee Pannu in a role to die for.
The Story of Thappad
Amrita ((Taapsee Pannu) underlines the word ?routine? with her life as a housewife. She loves her husband Vikram (Pavail Gulati), who is not willing to even put the alarm off in the morning. Amrita does that but before doing so,...

Film: ‘Hello Zindagi’; Cast: Mrunmayee Lagoo, Milind Gunajee, Kitu Gidwani, Neena Gupta, Kanwaljeet Singh; Director: Raja Unnithan; Rating: ** 1/2
A rebellious teenage daughter Kavita (Mrunmayee Lagoo) of a traumatised couple doesn’t know what to do with her life. So she takes off on a journey away from home with a lonely, neglected but brave middle-aged woman to Goa where she saves turtles… and herself.
Kavita goes home redeemed. We are not so sure about ourselves. We remain partly involved but largely distanced from this ambitious but flawed look at life through the eyes of teen rebellion.
Director Raja Unninathan has his heart in the right place. He creates a world of gossipy,.

Hello Zindagi Cast: Mrunmayee Lagoo, Kittu Gidwani Direction: Raja Unnithan Rating: * She (Mrunmayee Lagoo) has posters of Jim Morrison and Bob Marley on her walls: rather belated icons for someone her age. On a random night-out — “Can we go to the disc tonight?” — a stranger offers her a drink. She gulps it down. On another night at a club, upset with her friends, she meets the same ...
