WWE’s Nxt won out in the so-called Tuesday Night War against Aew’s “Dynamite.”
According to the Nielsen overnight ratings, Nxt pulled in 921,000 viewers on Tuesday night with 396,000 in the key adults 18-49 demographic. “Dynamite” averaged 609,000 viewers with 346,000 in the demo. While that is a far cry from the numbers seen during the Monday Night Wars between WWE (then WWF) and WCW, it is still a resounding victory for WWE, with Nxt up approximately 7.5% compared to last week’s show.
The two shows do not typically air against each other. Nxt currently runs on Tuesdays on USA Network, while “Dynamite” airs on Wednesdays on TBS. But the Major League Baseball playoffs on TBS this week meant that “Dynamite” needed to shift nights, putting them once again in direct competition with WWE’s developmental show.
Both companies tried to pull out all the stops to draw viewers. Aew announced what they called “Title Tuesday,...

Match #1: The Acclaimed & Billy Gunn def. Rush, Preston Vance & Dralistico
My Thoughts: This was another average match from The Acclaimed who don’t seem to be able to kick things into top gear at all recently. Every match feels like the trio of Max Caster, Anthony Bowens and Billy Gunn are just going through the motions and sticking to a Very familiar playbook that gets them over with live audience but does nothing for them personally. If I’m truly honest, The Acclaimed should’ve lost this one – Rush and co. are much more on point these days and have been dominant for real, unlike The Acclaimed,...

Big Bill and Darby locked up, but Big Bill hurled Darby around the ring like a rag doll. Darby and Orange used tandem offense on Bill and Lee, flying out of the ring with tope suicidas. Before the match began, they walked down the arena steps, kicked fans out of ringside seats, and then claimed them as their own. Danhausen was dressed as an usher and checked on their tickets. Welcome back to another review of Aew Dark: Elevation, which features 9 matches on this week’s show – the first Elevation of 2022! We’ve got Paul Wight and Matt Menard on commentary, so let’s get into the review.
Match #1: Hikaru Shida def. Tyra Russamee
My Thoughts: This was a typical Aew squash match of the highest order, with Tyra Russamee taking a beating from Shida – only avoiding Shida rather than offering any of her own offence.
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Varsity Athletes (Tony Nese and Josh Woods) def. Pillars of Destiny (Hunter Grey and Paul Titan)
My Thoughts: This was decidedly average. Both teams seemed to struggle making this one feel like a smooth wrestling match and instead felt too scrappy to make any impact.
My Score: 1.5 out of 5 Match #3: Matt Hardy and Isiah Kassidy def. Manny Lemons and Atiba

He followed up by dropkicking the can against Kenny’s groin area. Death Triangle nailed Matt Jackson with triple dropkicks. Penta El Zero Miedo stuck Nick Jackson with the sling blade clothesline outside the ring. Pac and Rey Fenix set up tables on the arena floor. Penta El Zero Miedo propped up an artificial Christmas tree in the ring and Matt and Kenny were hit with the artificial pine needles.

What better way to usher in the festive season than bodyslams and superkick parties? All Elite Wrestling will be serving up a big helping of both during its “Holiday Bash” and “New Year’s Smash” shows closing out 2022. The festivities begin during the December 21 of Dynamite with match five in the “Best of Seven” between Death Triangle and The Elite, as well as Jamie Hayter’s first women’s title defense against Hikaru Shida. Rick Ross is also meditating a face-to-face between Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland. For Tony Khan, this time is about celebration, reflection, and looking to close the year on an impactful note. The enthusiastic founder couldn’t be happier about what the company has been able to accomplish. For this entrepreneur, the truth is in the numbers. Here Khan runs us through the data. He also opens up about the accomplishments, challenges, and future of Aew.

Another week, another episode of Aew: Dark which features 8 matches on the card this week (thankfully; I do love a shorter show)… On with the review!
Match #1: Lee Johnson, Qt Marshall and Cole Karter def. Justin Corino, Ryan Mooney and Steven Josifi
My Thoughts: I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the new additions to The Factory faction have given the group a huge boost. Case in point, this match. Johnson and Karter work well as a duo and even made Qt Marshall a new edge!
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Zack Clayton def. Chris Wylde

Match #1: Lance Archer def. Alec Odin
My Thoughts: Two matches in a row for Archer, this was even more of a squash than his Elevation match this week! Odin did get a move or two in but this was very much Archer’s match.
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Penelope Ford, Serena Deeb and Jamie Hayter def. Jordan Blade, Trish Adora and Brittany Blake

My Score: 1.5 out of 5 Match #2: Lance Archer def. Papadon

It’s Toni time in All Elite Wrestling. The popular Toni Storm became Aew interim women’s champion by defeating Jamie Hayter, Hikaru Shida, and Britt Baker at September 4’s All Out. The match came after the New Zealander’s original opponent and incumbent title holder Thunder Rosa was sidelined with an injury. Storm, who left WWE late last year in hopes of more opportunity, is looking to show what she can truly do with the proverbial ball. Next up for the champ is another four-way challenge against Serena Deeb, Athena, and Baker during the special September 21 episode of Dynamite Grand Slam from Arthur Ashe Stadium. For Storm, it’s a huge night with a big stage to solidify herself at the top of the mountain. “I’m going to go into this confidently,” the Kiwi told TV Insider. “I’ll be walking out still champ ready for the next.

My Thoughts: Another strong match for the former cheerleader turned [possible] leader of the House of Black. She squashed her enhancement talent opponent with ease.
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #3: Dante Martin and Matt Sydal def. Zack Clayton and Serpentico
My Thoughts: What the actual f*ck?! Less than one minute...

All Elite Wrestling star Jade Cargill poses outside for an Instagram pic. Pic credit: @ms_cargill/Instagram
All Elite Wrestling’s Jade Cargill is set for another championship defense match, with a formidable opponent looking to dethrone Aew’s first and only TBS Champion.
Ahead of the big match, Cargill took to her official Instagram to show off a photo with her “best friend” while rocking a stunning look.
Cargill wore all white for her outfit, with tight white jeans that hugged her curves as part of the attire. For her top, Cargill wore a fuzzy white strapless crop top.
A pair of high heels were slightly visible in a quick video clip that Cargill included as her second slide. In the clip, the champ is all smiles as she playfully raises her knee to the display case in front of her.
Her Aew TBS Championship belt sits on a shelf in that display case.

All Elite Wrestling’s Toni Storm continues to sizzle in stunning bikinis as she shows off the content from her sizzling beach photoshoots.
The 26-year-old professional wrestling star took to Instagram to share the latest image, which features her posing in a unique black and white bikini.
The tiny top and bottoms each feature the yin-yang symbols all over them for an eye-catching two-piece swimsuit.
Storm is kneeling in the sand with both hands on her head as she leans back and enjoys the beach as light waves appear in the background.
The Australian wrestling star has sand all over her legs, feet, and midsection, suggesting she may have been sprawled out on the beach for other poses during the shoot.

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation, the opening salvo in the Aew wrestling week. We’ve got a repeat of last week’s commentary team, Excalibur and Matt Menard, for this episode so let’s see what the show has to offer!
Match #1: Dante Martin def. Wes Barkley
My Thoughts: After last week’s match I was expecting Dante Martin to thoroughly squash his opponent here but that wasn’t the case, Wes Barkley managed to hold his own for a short while, even getting a 1-count on Martin. Still, we were in quasi-squash territory with this one!
My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: Julia Hart def. Arie Alexander
My Thoughts: Another strong match for Julia Hart, who now feels like she’s really relishing in her heel persona. This one was another quasi-squash, with Arie Alexander getting just enough offence in for this to...

Match #1: Anna Jay def. Nikki Victory
My Thoughts: Another short and sweet squash match for Anna Jay, who traded in the fin and happy mood of the Dark Order for a more serious and more importantly vicious attitude. And it works. Now she just needs to get more competitive matches under her belt.
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Ruby Soho & Ortiz def. Queen Aminata & Mickey Midas
My Thoughts: Interesting… Undoubtedly because of Sammy and Tay’s championship, it seems Aew are getting into the mixed tag match scene – giving Ruby and Ortiz some practice before their match against the aforementioned Sammy and Tay at All Out.

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation, the opening salvo in the Aew wrestling week. We’ve got a new duo on commentary this week, Excalibur and Matt Menard..?! Let’s see what the show has to offer.
Match #1: Josh Woods and Tony Nese def. Arik Cannon and Tristan Davis
My Thoughts: Dull quasi-squash and a waste of the talent involved.
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Dark Order def. Tug Cooper, Drew System, Rylie Jackson and Adam Grace
My Thoughts: Fun multi-man squash. Dark ORder did their thing with aplomb as usual.
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #3: Serena Deeb def. Sierra
My Thoughts: Sierra put in a decent showing last week and despite facing the queen of the enhancement talent squash, she also managed to showcase herself her too, breaking out of a number of Deeb’s moves. More from Sierra please Tony Khan!
