Disgraced former two-term Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich is scheduled to arrive at a Colorado federal prison today to begin his 14-year sentence on a corruption conviction. (The sentence for his hair crimes, however? Incalculable.) Blagojevich was convicted by a jury on 18 counts, including attempting to sell President Barack Obama’s Senate seat.

In about two weeks, former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich will report to prison in Littleton, Colo. where he is expected to stay for about 14 years. Despite two trials and convictions on 18 corruption charges, his wife maintains that her husband is innocent.
In an interview with Rosie O'Donnell scheduled to air Wednesday, Patti Blagojevich tearfully tells the talk show host and actress that she is "positive" her husband is not guilty.
"He was found guilty of getting advice and having routine conversations," she told O'Donnell, according to CBS Chicago. “I was there, and I’ve heard all the conversations. I know his heart. So much of this case was intent — what was his intent? And I know his heart.”
O'Donnell, who hosts her own show on the Oprah Winfrey Network from Chicago's Harpo Studios, told Patti Blagojevich that she "can't fathom" what she was going through as a mother. The former...

Not even a gig on reality television can save former Gov. Rod Blagojevich. Today he was convicted on 17 of 20 counts of abusing the powers of his office in a series of attempted shakedowns captured on undercover government recordings. Blagojevich was stoic as the jury announced their decisions. His wife Patti Blagojevich was crying and shaking her head "no" as the jurors left the courtroom according to the Chicago Tribune. Blago's trial last summer found him guilty of lying to the FBI, though that panel deadlocked on all the other counts. This time the verdict given by the jury of 11 women and one man found Blagojevich guilty on 17 out of 20 criminal counts he faced, including...

Donald Trump boasted that the upcoming season of "The Celebrity Apprentice" is the best ever and promised the star power of its cast "blows `Dancing With the Stars' away."Yes, it's a new cycle for the Trump-hosted competition show, which won't premiere until March 14 but threw an introductory news conference way back last October, with sworn-to-secrecy members of the media meeting the contenders. Now NBC says it's time to unveil that roster of 14 participants, who will likely spur responses ranging from "Wow!" to "Huh?"Maybe the most interesting (to use Trump's pet adjective) participant is former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich. Vaulted to infamy by headlines and punch lines, he is charged with scheming to auction off President Barack Obama's former U.S. Senate seat, campaign fundraising abuses and other offenses. He was removed from office last January, but has denied wrongdoing.

In her TCA session to promote her new CBS show The Good Wife, about the wife of a state attorney who tries to build her life and career after her husband has a Spitzer/Sanford/Edwards kind of downfall, Julianna Margulies was asked if she thought Rod Blagojevich should count in the pantheon of "Good Wives."
She said that Mrs. Blago's situation was different because her husband cheated on the people of his state, not on his wife. "Then she goes on a reality show. I mean... god..."
Ok, so Mrs. Blago doesn't belong in the same company as Silda Spitzer and Elizabeth Edwards. Would any of them be willing to give her advice on how to play the role of a wronged political wife? "I think all those women are too classy to grumble about anything."Continue reading Margulies...

Even though NBC’s “I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here” ranked 17th in the Nielsen ratings for the week ending June 21 among viewers age 18-49, there is a certain amount of local curiosity about contestant Patti Blagojevich. In the week ending June 14, the Wednesday and Thursday editions of “I’m a Celebrity” landed in the Windy City’s Top 10, according to Nielsen Media Research. Eight months ago, Patti was known, if at all, as the wife of then-Gov. Rod Blagojevich. Seven months ago, she was heard on a federal investigators’ audiotape uttering four-letter words, and soon thereafter...
