If you didn't 'gram it, did it really happen? When it comes to summer, we won't lie: A lot of our plans are decided based on whether or not there's a bonus opportunity to get a really effing great Instagram. Deciding where to go for dinner is a breeze (some restaurants simply cater more to filtered photos, pun intended) and doing anything during sunset is a no-brainer. If you didn't post these 17 Instagrams, did you even have a summer? 1. The Beach Pic Because the beach is a staple of any good summer. Without it, you are no one. Plain and simple. (Lake beaches count.) 2. The Ferris Wheel Pic Something about a carnival screams good vibes and good weather (and a...

“The Ferris wheel is coming!” Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros frontman Alex Ebert is reassuring himself as much as he’s boasting about the second most visible attraction of the inaugural Big Top festival. Front and center is the actual big top -- a traditional circus tent complete with sawdust and bold primary colors -- under which the 12-member band will perform on a rotating stage. Outside on the grounds of Los Angeles Historic State Park, food vendors, magicians and performers of all stripes will entertain the hundreds expected to show, bringing to life a dream Ebert has been mulling since

Fans attending San Diego Comic-Con 2013 got their first taste of "Divergent" when Summit Entertainment premiered the first clip from the film at the convention. For those of you who didn't get to see what was unveiled, star Shailene Woodley discussed one of her favorite scenes to shoot in the movie.
"The Ferris wheel scene was bada** because how often in real life do you get to climb a Ferris wheel?" she tells Zap2it of the fan-favorite scene, in which she and Theo James' Four have to climb to the top of a Ferris wheel. When asked which of them won climbing up it, she gave the practical response, saying, "I was in front so I did."
In terms of what scene she can't wait to share with fans, Woodley says, "I'm excited for them to see the end of the movie. No scene attached. I'm excited for them...

The hour has finally arrived. This year's San Diego Comic-Con is in full swing as of today, and kicking off the movies lineup is dystopian young adult drama Divergent.
Based on the first novel in a futuristic trilogy by Veronica Roth, Divergent follows Tris (Shailene Woodley), a teenage girl who gradually begins to rebel against the restrictive rules of her society, which divides people into factions according to their personality traits.
Digital Spy is on the ground in San Diego, and we'll be bringing you live updates from the Divergent press conference, where Woodley, Roth, director Neil Burger and co-star Theo James are due to appear.
23:37And that's a wrap, as Woodley and co dash off for their panel appearance in Hall H.
23:32"The Ferris wheel day was pretty special," Woodley says of the night shoot sequence. "It was a full moon, it was so beautiful. It was just a magical moment,...

Veronica Roth’s Divergent is not a book that comes off as unfilmable. From its opening pages to its dramatic, action-packed conclusion, this dystopian tale seems like it was always designed to be turned into a movie — which may be why Summit Entertainment bought the book’s film rights months before the novel was even published.Given this, it’s not tough to pick out five scenes from Divergent that I can’t wait to see rendered on the big screen. (Caution: Book spoilers follow, of course.) Specifically:Tris’s big jump into Dauntless The story’s first real action setpiece — minus the aptitude test,...

Dante Will Rise.
Chances are, if you are reading this review, you have already made up your mind about whether or not you will buy Devil May Cry. Capcom’s decision to hand the reins of one of the most beloved game series of the last decade to new developer, Ninja Theory, immediately divided fans. Some were happy to accept the changes – anything to see Dante’s demonic adventures continue. Most however, were incensed. Even before any solid details had emerged, fans had seemingly decided that this was not the direction they wanted for Dante and friends. Not since Mass Effect 3 has there been such a venomous backlash from gamers. As a huge fan of the series, I’d be lying to say I, too, wasn’t initially cautious. Ninja Theory have changed a lot of what made me love the originals. And as in all reboots,...

When writer-producer Oren Peli is talking about the thing he loves most -- horror movies -- he's like a child opening gifts on Christmas Day. His eyes light up, and it's obvious this is something he'd be more than happy to talk about all day long.
You probably know about Peli's feature film debut "Paranormal Activity," which he wrote and directed; last we heard, it made a bajillion dollars and got two sequels (and counting!). Peli wrote and produced the new horror movie "Chernobyl Diaries," about six tourists who get stranded in a city called Pripyat, one of the cities in Chernobyl that were affected in the nuclear explosion in 1986. Peli sat down with us to talk about how the film's dialogue was improvised, why he didn't direct the film himself and how he tried to approach the sensitive subject matter.
