CBS is aiming for teens with a new three-hour Saturday block titled “The CBS Dream Team, It’s Epic!”, which is set to launch September 28. The six half-hour shows targeting ages 13-16 are from Litton Entertainment, which already produces a Saturday block for ABC stations. The CBS block, which is compliant with the FCC educational/informational rules, includes shows from the likes of chef Jamie Oliver, boxer Laila Ali and omg!Insider host Kevin Frasier. For the past half-decade or so, CBS’ morning block was provided by Cookie Jar, which was aimed at the more industry-standard 2-11 demo. CBS has partnered with Litton Entertainment on a new Saturday morning programming line-up that will target teens with shows hosted by the likes of celeb chef Jamie Oliver, retired boxer Laila Ali and Insider personality/Espn alum Kevin Frazier.
The three-hour block is FCC educational/informational compliant and will carry a pro-social message aimed at viewers age 13 to 16.
The line-up — which is branded “The CBS Dream Team,” bows Sept. 28 and will replace the network’s current block (including Liberty’s Kids, The Doodlebops and Busytown Mysteries) — looks like this:
