Troy Gonzales was born in 1986 in San Antonio, Texas and raised in Camp
Wood, Texas. His mother, Ida Pannell, worked as a teacher and his
father, Joel Gonzales, was a police officer. He has an older sister,
Tasha Gonzales, an intensive care nurse. At Nueces Canyon High School,
he was a drummer, Varsity football player, and an award-winning actor
in UIL one act play. After graduating from high school, Gonzales
attended Texas State University, pledged and became a member of a
fraternity, and gained an Arts degree. He worked as a bartender in
Austin, Texas and, also, a lifeguard. His acting experience in numerous
comedic short films landed him a starring role in Love and Tambourines,
which made its world debut at the Austin Film Festival in 2009.
