[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for FBI: International Season 2 Episode 12, “Someone She Knew.”] The January 24 episode of FBI: International ended just as we thought it would when it came to the reassignment that Special Agent Scott Forrester (Luke Kleintank) was facing, but oh, did we love watching how it went down. The Fly Team’s least favorite person, Ken Dandridge (Michael Torpey), forced his way into their latest investigation, going so far as to give a press conference when he shouldn’t have and allowing the suspect to escape with the girls he’d kidnapped. At first, Deputy Director John Van Leer (R. Ward Duffy) and Senator Jenna Preuitt (Lorna Lowe) praised him for his transparency. As a result, Forrester finds himself having to weigh the value in following the lead of Dandridge (played by...

ABC is not moving forward with a second season of drama series The Crossing.
The Crossing premiered April 2 with American Idol as a lead-in, but that episode of the revived singing-competition series happened to match a series-low demo rating for a regular telecast. Post-Idol, the midseason drama managed to eke out a win in the 10 Pm hour with a 1.0 and 5.45 million viewers. It outperformed same night last year for ABC by double digits but fell short of previous week’s The Good Doctor wrapper and its season average, though that still left it ABC’s second-most-watched Monday 10 Pm debut, behind Doctor, in nearly three years.
The series stared Steve Zahn as the sheriff of a small fishing town in Oregon who must deal with dozens of refugees from a war-torn country who arrive on its beach. One twist: The country they’re from is America — and the war they’re...

Just like last year, the 2014 Daytime Emmy acting reels are being made available for public viewing online. The roundup of episode submissions continues with Best Younger Actress. I've watched all five; first-time nominee Kelley Missal ("One Life to Live"), who is also the first ever nominee for a digital series, could be a threat: -Break- Daytime Emmy nominees reveal episodes submitted to judges Length of Reel: 6:57 Synopsis: Danielle Manning (Missal) wakes up in the hospital after a drug overdose, but is surprised when her mother, Tea (Florencia Lozano), reveals that her supposed father, Victor (Trevor St. John), is back from the dead. She is then confronted by her real father, Todd (Emmy-winner Roger Howarth), to whom she confesses that she feels invisible. Analysis: Missal submitted the shortest reel in the category, but she arguably has the most range. She starts with a moment of strong impact, when Victor appear.

The race for Best Younger Actress at the Daytime Emmys could be historic thanks to the nomination for Kelley Missal. She is the only acting nominee for "One Life to Live," which makes her the first actor ever nominated for an online soap. And were she to win, she'd also be the first "Oltl" star to win that category. -Break- Follow Gold Derby on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Tumblr! I've written before about "Oltl's" misfortunes at the Daytime Emmys. It has won Best Drama Series only once in its history (2002) and been almost completely shut out of acting races, winning a paltry two performance awards since 1996: Best Actress for Erika Slezak (2005) and Susan Haskell (2009). But before its long drought began almost two decades ago, it performed well, winning at least once in five out of the six acting categories – all except Younger Actress. Sorry, soap fans: The painful economics of running soap operas on the internet have made it impossible to keep the shows alive after they’ve been yanked off of broadcast TV. Prospect Park announced today that its plan to move One Life to Life and All My Children to a planned Online Network in 2012 has been shuttered, dashing any hope of keeping Llanview and Pine Valley fans satiated.
The media and production company founded in 2009 by Jeffrey Kwatinetz and former Disney Studios head Rich Frank was unable to reach guild deals to make the soaps’ run on the internet a reality.
