- Michael Boder was born on November 9, 1958 in Darmstadt, Hesse, Germany. He is known for Mussorgsky: Khovanshchina (2007), Medea (2011) and Le Grand Macabre (2012). He died on April 7, 2024 in Vienna, Austria.
- Boder was a German conductor of opera and concert who worked internationally.
- Michael Boder was the chief conductor of the Royal Danish Theatre from the 2012/13 season. He also conducted regularly at the Vienna State Opera, including the world premieres of Cerha's Der Riese vom Steinfeld and Reimann's Medea.
- He served as an assistant conductor under Michael Gielen at the Frankfurt Opera, and at just 29, he was named the chief conductor of the Basel Orchestra in Switzerland.
- Boder conducted the Vienna production of "Das Schloss" for a recording on the Wergo label in 1999.
- Some of his operatic premieres were in 1991 Penderecki's "Ubu Rex" for the opening of the Munich Opera Festival, in 1992 Reimann's "Das Schloß", in 1998 Manfred Trojahn's "Was ihr wollt" at the Bavarian State Opera, and in 2007 Henze's "Phaedra" at the Berlin Staatsoper Unter den Linden.
