Haranya
- Soundtrack
Haranya was an alternative band formed in the late 1990s towards the
early 2000s. Denmark Valdez (guitars) recruited Manuel "Noy" Martinez
(a current member of J.A.B.) to fill in for bass. Denmark's original
drummer "Alf" remained their drummer. After winning several battle of
the bands contests, they went to pursue a recording contract.
Haranya went through with several singers and managers, trying out different ways to get noticed by producers. It was then when they tried a female vocalist and added Sean Cesar Valera (college drummer of Manuel Martinez of their band Flatutoos) as keyboardist. Later on, Alf (drummer) left the band.
An event in Demnark's college required them to play in a rock concert. It was then that Sean Cesar Valera filled in as the band's drummer.
After recording several of their songs including "Sugar" and "Gitara", they were turned down by several recording companies claiming that the band scene wasn't as good and it would be difficult to promote them. The band later on disbanded.
Denmark Valdez sold most of Haranya's songs to different producers and artists/bands. "Sugar" was later heard on the movie "Forevermore" starring Jerico Rosales and Christine Hermosa. "Gitara" was later re-recorded by Parokya Ni Edgar and was noted as one of their hit songs.
