Welcome to this week’s review of Nxt, right here on Nerdly. Let’s get straight into it and see what went down in this episode…
Match #1: Michin def. Tatum Paxley The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Michin is one step closer to making history as she defeated Tatum Paxley in a Women’s Nxt North American Championship Qualifying Match. Before the bell could even ring, both Superstars battled it out as Paxley tried to grab the newly unveiled title from the grasp of rapper Sexyy Red, and Michin didn’t take kindly to the disrespect. Michin looked as impressive as ever as she hit a huge dive to the outside as well as a devastating pounce, but the resilient Paxley absorbed every big shot and came just seconds away from winning the match herself. The two Superstars matched each other’s energy, but a perfect counter from...

Match #1: Rey Fenix def. Komander The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
There was a bit of a stalemate in the early goings after some excellent chain wrestling. Fenix ran the top rope and tried for a punt kick, but Komander dodged it. Match #1: The Acclaimed & Billy Gunn def. Rush, Preston Vance & Dralistico
My Thoughts: This was another average match from The Acclaimed who don’t seem to be able to kick things into top gear at all recently. Every match feels like the trio of Max Caster, Anthony Bowens and Billy Gunn are just going through the motions and sticking to a Very familiar playbook that gets them over with live audience but does nothing for them personally. If I’m truly honest, The Acclaimed should’ve lost this one – Rush and co. are much more on point these days and have been dominant for real, unlike The Acclaimed,...

Welcome back to another review of Aew Dark: Elevation, which features just matches this week. We’ve got regulars Paul Wight and Matt Menard on commentary as usual. So let’s get into the review!
Match #1: Tony Nese and Ari Daivari def. Lane Summers and Campbell Myers
My Thoughts: This was an incredibly dull opening match and a squash match at that too. Nese and Daivari are, unfortunately, pretty much charisma-free and that doesn’t help their matches in the slightest; and with this match we didn’t even get any words from Mark Sterling to cover that fact up!

Match #1: Skye Blue def. Tfa (Taryn from Accounting)
My Thoughts: This was a pretty decent and competitive opener for this week’s show and both women delivered throughout the match. Great to see Tfa get some exposure via Aew too.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Jake Hager def. Adam Knight
My Thoughts: Adam Knight looked like he might give Jake Hager a run for his money, especially given how competitive the previous match was, but no. This was a squash of the highest order with Hager eventually hitting Knight with a Vader Bomb to get the win!

We had another Aew pay-per-view this past weekend, so you know what that means… A bonus Saturday episode of Aew: Dark which thankfully only features a handful of matches rather than the growing number of the regular Dark features! Anyway, on with the review…
Match #1: The Acclaimed def. The Workhorsemen
My Thoughts: A great start to this special extra episode of Dark, with one of my favourite tag teams taking on one of Aew’s most popular tag teams in a match that ended up being a exciting back and forth that thankfully didn’t have The Workhorsemen just lying down and eating the pin.

Match #1: Emi Sakura def. Rachelle Riveter
My Thoughts: Nice to see Emi Sakura Open an episode of Elevation, though as usual she’s squashing her opponent. Well I say this is a squash, but this is the trademark-pending “Aew quasi-squash”, with Sakura giving Rachelle Riveter just enough space to get some offence in and not look totally weak. Which, if I’m honest, is always a trait of Sakura’s matches – she allows her opponent, no matter who it is, to show off their skills. Unlike some other people on the roster!

Welcome back to another review of Aew Dark: Elevation, which features a sub-1 hour show this week, with only 8 matches on the card, which pleases me a Lot! We’ve got Paul Wight and Matt Menard on commentary, so let’s get into the review.
Match #1: Emi Sakura, Marina Shafir and Nyla Rose def. Johnnie Robbie, Vipress and Zyra
My Thoughts: This match saw a return to the Shafir/Rose/Vickie squabbles that we’ve seen previously – they’re obviously building to the split between the trio but at the same time I’ve enjoyed the teaming of Nyla Rose’s intensity with Vickie Guerrero’s brash attitude and I’ll miss it when the split does happen. As for this match? It felt more like an angle than a match but still, an Aew quasi-squash is still an Aew quasi-squash!
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Daniel Garcia def.

Another week, another episode of Aew: Dark which this week features seven matches… Including a Women’s Roh title match! Anyway, on with the review.
Match #1: Juice Robinson def. Travis Williams
My Thoughts: Juice Robinson makes another appearance for Aew and faces some decent competition in Travis Williams. This was a well-paced, competitive, start to Dark.
My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #2: Ruby Soho & Willow Nightingale def. Emi Sakura & Diamante
My Thoughts: The new team of Ruby Soho & Willow Nightingale get another outing, this time against the heel team of Emi Sakura & Diamante, who have worked together before and delivered each and every time. And the same is the case here, with Soho and Nightgale really gelling – I’d definitely like to see them stay together as a team for a while longer even though I’d like to see Willow Nightingale make her way up the singles scene too.

Welcome back to another review of Aew Dark: Elevation, which features 11 matches on this week’s show – urghhhh, I’m not a fan of these longer cards, especially given most matches are usually squashes! We’ve got Paul Wight and Matt Menard on commentary, so let’s get into the review.
Match #1: Brian Cage def. Schaff
My Thoughts: As this started I thought “here we go, another Brian Cage squash” but that is Not what we got! The crowd in attendance were clearly behind Schaff and so we actually got something of a competitive match, with Cage letting Schaff showcase his stuff for those unfamiliar with his work. In the end that made for a great match!
My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #2: The Kingdom (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) def. Bollywood Boyz (Harv and Gurv)

Match #1: Bryan Danielson def. Ethan Page The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
Before the match began, Aew World Champion Mjf’s music hit! Mjf was in a skybox and he began to taunt Danielson on the microphone! Ethan Page used the distraction to ambush Danielson. Ethan Page bodyslammed Danielson. Bryan fired back with a running elbow, and then he chopped Page in the corner. Danielson continued the attack with round kicks. Danielson stomped on Page’s ankle. Page used his size advantage to take down Bryan. Danielson headbutted Page and then followed up with a dropkick. Hathaway jumped onto the ring apron to scream at Danielson. Welcome back to another review of Aew Dark: Elevation, which this week keeps the match count low, with only 6 matches on this week’s card! We’ve got Matt Menard and Paul Wight on commentary, so let’s get into the review.
Match #1: Marina Shafir def. Jazmin Allure
My Thoughts: Shafir dominated this match, squashing Allure in less than two minutes. Short and sweet but very effective.
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Emi Sakura and The Bunny def. Lady Bird Monroe and Gigi Rey
My Thoughts: Another squash match. Not much to say about this one other than Emi Sakura and The Bunny made for a good team – both of them have evil streaks that really added to the storytelling of this one.

Match #1: Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale – Winner: Ricky Starks The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
The winner will face the Aew World Champion Mjf at a later date for control of the Dynamite Diamond ring. Dustin Rhodes eliminated Kip Sabian after a Canadian Destroyer! Butcher and Dustin duked it out on the ring apron until Butcher blasted Dustin with a lariat to eliminate Rhodes. Starks eliminated the Butcher after ramming him with a shoulder. Jack Perry took out Lee Moriarty with a hurracanrana over the top rope. Jungle Boy was trying to hold onto the rope when W. Morrissey clubbed him down and then choke slammed Jungle Boy on the ring apron.

Welcome back to another review of Aew Dark: Elevation, this week features more main roster names than usual and another 9-match card! We’ve got Tony Schiavone, Paul Wight, and Matt Menard on commentary, so let’s get into the review.
Match #1: Nick Comoroto def. Hagane Shinno
My Thoughts: Interesting to see Comoroto booked as a monster once again, with Shinno booked as the plucky underdog who could not get the big man down. That’s not to say Shinno didn’t put in the effort but it was like watching a fly trying to beatdown a bulldog! Comoroto spent a bit too much time playing to the crowd but still, this was an Ok start to the show.
My Score: 1.5 out of 5 Match #2: Nyla Rose and Marina Shafir def. Kitty Lafleur and Alice Crowley

Sting left Darby before the match, confident that Darby could do this alone. Darby had a baseball bat and bludgeoned Comoroto with it. Darby rocketed from the ring to Cole Karter, who was outside the ring. Darby blasted Cole with a shotgun dropkick. Darby climbed to the top turnbuckle but Cole shoved him off, knocking Darby to the arena floor. Cole powerbombed Darby on the edge of the ring. Cole whipped Darby into the turnbuckles. Welcome back to another review of Aew Dark: Elevation, and yes, given how much wrestling we had to cover last week I missed last week’s show! This week features seven matches and a number of big-name stars! We’ve got Ian Riccaboni, Matt Menard and Jose the Assistant on commentary, so let’s get into the review…
Match #1: 10 def. Baron Black
My Thoughts: Baron Black jumped 10 before the bell and 10 totally no-sold it, along with everything else Black tried to throw at him. I do wonder what the plan is for 10… He is being head-hunted by Jose the Assistant on behalf of the Lfi, yet when he gets a decent singles match Aew throw Orange Cassidy into the mix?! Then he goes and has squash matches like this. What is the plan? What It It?!

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is continuing to expand in unexpected ways post-"Avengers: Endgame," but few could have predicted one of the next heroes to get a Disney+ adaptation would be Simon Williams aka Wonder Man. The series was announced earlier this summer with "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" and the upcoming "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty" director Destin Daniel Cretton attached to executive produce with Andrew Guest serving as the head writer. The series is still in the early stages of production, but it was recently announced that Ben Kingsley would be reprising his role as Trevor Slattery, thereby connecting "Wonder Man" to the story of "Shang-Chi."
As it stands, only Kingsley's casting on the show has been confirmed so far, which leaves the titular character a mystery. Wonder Man is a lesser-known Marvel character created in 1964 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, first introduced as a...

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation, the opening salvo in the Aew wrestling week. This time round we’ve got Tony Schiavone and Caprice Coleman on commentary (with Anthony Ogogo joining them in the later matches), which makes for a refreshing change to proceedings. Let’s see what the show has to offer!
Match #1: Emi Sakura def. Paris Van Dale
My Thoughts: Surprise, surprise. Emi Sakura finally gets to have a singles match on one of Aew’s YouTube shows. She’s been stuck in women’s tag/trios whirlygig for weeks now, so it’s weird to see her in a one-on-one match. Though this wasn’t really a match, this was a typical Aew quasi-squash, with Paris Van Dale getting a couple of big spots in – a running bulldog, a open-leg faceplant – but nothing that gave Emi anything to worry about.
My Score:...

It helps that you’ve got someone like Reckless as an opponent – she can really sell a move!

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew: Dynamite, which was broadcast live from the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Mo! As usual, we have Tony Schiavone, Excalibur, and Jim Ross on commentary And a huge hair vs. hair match to open the show!
Match #1: Chris Jericho def. Ortiz The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
William Regal joined the commentary team for this match. They brawled outside the ring but Ortiz placing Jericho in the barber’s chair and dropping right hands. Back in the ring, Ortiz blasted Jericho with a shotgun dropkick. Ortiz began to bite Chris Jericho’s forehead. Jericho gouged Ortiz’ eyes. Jericho attempted a hurracanrana off the top turnbuckle but Ortiz countered into a powerbomb. Ortiz was about to connect with a top suicida but Jericho blocked it with a forearm. Jericho followed up with a suplex off the ring apron onto the arena floor.

Another episode of Aew: Dark, which this week was apparently taped around an episode of Rampage so we get a decent crowd and bigger names on the card. Let’s join Taz and Excalibur, commentators for Dark as usual, and see what this week’s Eight matches have in store… Those match counts are getting bigger and bigger the further we get from Double or Nothing.
Match #1: Qt Marshall def. Alan Angels
My Thoughts: Wtf?! We closed this week’s Elevation with Dark Order versus The Factory and open this week’s Dark with Alan Angels versus Qt Marshall… Running out of ideas much? I’m really starting to wonder what the hell the plan is, if there is a plan, with these recurring Dark Order/The Factory matches? Feuding on YouTube shows but not referencing them outside of YouTube. Hell, I’m expecting to see both teams start...

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation, we’re back to just Mark Henry and Paul Wight on commentary and this week’s show is another short card, featuring 6 matches this week. Let’s get right into the action!
Match #1: Ethan Page def. Jd Griffey
My Thoughts: Griffey had a decent showing here in this quasi-squash match, but this one was Ethan Page’s to lose. It’s good to see Page actually wrestling on Aew television and not just cutting promos. Maybe now Scorpio Sky has the TNT Title spotlight that some of the spotlight will rub off on Page. Here’s Hoping!
My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: Roh Women’s Title Match – Mercedes Martinez def. Hyan
My Thoughts: Mercedes Martinez gave Texas local Hyan a Lot of room here. It even looked like she was doing Hyan’s moves for her at one point!

It’s Monday morning, so you know what that means… it’s time for our review of Friday night’s episode of Aew: Rampage, which this week emanated from the Ubs Arena at Belmont Park in Long Island, New York. We’ve got Excalibur, Taz and Chris Jericho on commentary so let’s get right to the review!
Match #1: Trios Match – Death Triangle def. The Butcher, The Blade, & Marq Quen The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
Penta Oscura and the Blade began for their respective teams. Blade clocked Penta Oscura with a haymaker shot. Penta fired back with a kick and then tagged in Pac. Pac blasted Blade with stiff kicks and forearms. Butcher pulled Pac outside the ring and dropped Pac on the ring apron! Back in the ring, Pac countered an Irish whip with a dropkick to Butcher’s knee. Pac used a shotgun dropkick off...

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew: Dark which comes from Aew Universal and features 11 matches this week. Once again we’ve got Taz and Excalibur on commentary… Let’s get into the review!
Match #1: Jay Lethal def. Jake Something
My Thoughts: It’s Jay Lethal. You should know my thoughts on him by now. As for his opponent, Jake Something was great in Impact so I had hoped he wouldn’t get jobbed out like this, even more so to someone like Jay Lethal. At least Jake was allowed to get some offence in and not just roll over like you’d expect Lethal to want his opponents to. And the post-match beatdown was unnecessary Imho.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Alex Reynolds def. Jake Manning
My Thoughts: Man-Scout Jake Manning made some impact in this one, even though the outcome was never ever in doubt.

It’s time for this week’s review of Aew: Dark, which like last week features a mere 6 matches. But it’s a Stacked set of matches with some of Aew’s biggest names making an appearance on the show this week – And we’ve got a live paying and excited crowd (this was taped at the same time as Battle of the Belts 2 apparently). Let’s get into it!
Match #1: Toni Storm def. Gigi Rey
My Thoughts: Great to see Toni Storm open an episode of Dark, made the entire show feel more like a big deal. As did the appearance of Jamie Hayter on commentary for this match, really building towards the duo’s upcoming match against each other. Hayter, as I’ve said to people plenty of times before, needs more time on the mic – she has shown more personality in her appearance on Ethan Page...

We’ve got a bonus show from Aew this week, Battle of the Belts 2, which emanated from the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas. Let’s get to it!
Match #1: TNT Championship Match – Sammy Guevara def. Scorpio Sky The following is courtesy of allwlitewrestling.com:
Sammy rushed Sky into the corner and battered Sky with elbow strikes and stomps. Scorpio Sky fired back, battering Sammy with a ground and pound attack. Sky bit down on Sammy’s forehead, punishing him in the corner. Sammy rallied back with elbows of his own, and then he bit down on Sky’s forehead. Sammy tried to leapfrog Sky but Sky caught him and attempted the Tko. Sammy escaped and they traded chops! Sammy backflipped over Sky and then blasted him with a quick dropkick. On the outside of the ring, Scorpio Sky dropped Sammy throat-first on the steel ring barricade. Sky body...

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation, we’re back to Paul Wight and Mark Henry on commentary (with Excalibur thankfully joining them) but a bigger 9-match card this week… but still only running around 45 mins again? Let’s get right into the review and the action!
Match #1: Lee Moriarty def. Serpentico
My Thoughts: Nice to see Serpentico back in singles action and nice to Not hear too much from Luther in his corner. As I’ve said before, Serpentico is great as a singles competitor though he had some really stiff competition in Lee Moriarty, whose skill and Taiga style eventually got the better of his opponent.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Abadon def. Danni Bee
My Thoughts: Another squash match for Abadon, this time against a debuting Danni Bee. As I said last week, seeing Abadon obliterate her opponents in a solid squash is so satisfying!
