Andrena Hale is a show runner and executive producer of premium non-fiction programming whose body of work includes Hip Hop Treasures, The Black Beauty Effect, American Gangster: Trap Queens, and Time of Essence. She has developed and produced shows for a variety of broadcasters including ABC, CBS, Netflix, Fox, MAX, BET +, A&E, Bravo, VICE, and WeTV, and has worked with major production companies including Pulse Films, Fremantle Media, A. Smith & Co., eOne, and Jesse Collins Entertainment.
Prior to television, Hale worked with her cousin, the legendary Broadway producer Woodie King, Jr., as an Associate Producer at his New Federal Theatre. There she wrote and produced shows including I Do, and With Certain Regrets starring the late Michael K. Williams, Andre Royo, and Yolonda Ross. Her written work has been featured at the Samuel French Short Play Festival and at the Ensemble Studio Theatre in New York City.
Andrena started in entertainment as the youngest music video Directors Rep in the music industry representing Fab 5 Freddy, Gus Van Sant, and Roman Coppola. She went on the produce iconic videos for Nas, Mobb Deep, KRS One, and Big L among others under the umbrella of her own production company before moving into music management where she was recruited to manage Bad Boy Records' multi-platinum selling Hitmen production crew.
Andrena, a product of Manhattan's School of Visual Arts film program, sits on the advisory board of the U.K. based music media hub SO.CO, and is in development on a slate of documentary and scripted projects with various producing partners including platinum-selling recording artist and television star, Joey Bada$$. She splits her time between Los Angeles and her hometown of Detroit.
