Guest House is a new comedy that feels like a real throwback to the likes of Road Trip and American Pie, depicting a rivalry between a home-owner, and a nightmare neighbour. We had the pleasure in speaking to the former, the affable comedian Mike Castle, who talks about his cinematic feud with Pauly Shore.
Castle spoke to us about playing the straight guy, and how it was shooting scenes with the likes of Shore, Steve-o and Billy Zane. He also tells us whether he has ever had a feud in real life, and talks about one day collaborating properly with his wife, the talented actress Lauren Lapkus. We also ask him about Brews Brothers, and his thoughts on the series sadly not being renewed.
Watch the full interview with Mike Castle here:
Synopsis
An engaged couple’s new dream home comes with one small catch — a perennial party animal who lives in the guesthouse.

"Just get rid of the guy." Lionsgate has released a trailer for a comedy titled Guest House, the latest from actor / filmmaker Sam Maccarone. This looks as stupid as they come, which should surprise no one. A newly engaged couple finally finds the home of their dreams, but it all quickly becomes a nightmare when the previous owner's friend continues squatting in their guest house. It soon leads to a turf war that ultimately ruins their house, their marriage and their lives. Starring Pauly Shore, Mike Castle, Aimee Teegarden, Billy Zane, Steve-o, Charlotte McKinney, Erik Griffin, Felipe Esparza, and Bobby Lee. With this cast, and with this redundant "outrageous, raunchy comedy" concept, this movie is straight out of the 90s – and belongs there. It looks like Jackass meets Neighbors, but much dumber than both of those. Have fun... Here's the first red band trailer (+ green band / poster) for Sam Macaroni's Guest House,...

Scrolling through Netflix’s “suggested shows” section and finding a programme called Brews Brothers was one of the most unusual recent finds I have to admit… Tasing a chance on another Netflix original this turned out to be entertaining and a bit of fun but if I had to chance to, I probably won’t watch it again.
To start with, the characters are almost too relatable. I did see myself and people I know in the characters which at times did make the comedy even funnier as I know someone who would do something that stupid but apart from this the characters were all a bit boring. They are ordinary people, with none of them really possessing any features I aspire for. The thing with relatability...

Chances are, no matter how much television you normally watch, you’ve been watching more than usual lately. A lot more. Coronavirus has brought the world screeching to a halt.
Flights are grounded, international borders are closed and, in an effort to mitigate the loss of ticket sales, major Hollywood studios are fast-tracking new projects so that their theatrical release and VOD premiere are effectively one and the same.
Earlier this week, for instance, Universal announced plans to bring The Invisible Man and The Hunt to VOD platforms – this Friday, in fact – whereas Sony just confirmed that the Vin Diesel actioner Bloodshot will release via digital and mobile on March 24th. That’s next week.
Yes, Covid-19 has completely upended the very concept of ‘normal life’ for so many people. And with the World Health Organization urging folks to stay indoors and self-isolate, there is one thing that can help ease the angst of quarantine: Netflix.
And sure enough, the streaming giant has just compiled a list of new releases headed to the platform in April.

Exclusive: ABC untitled Mandy Moore comedy pilot has decided to revamp a supporting character after the table read. As a result, James Pumphrey, who had been cast in the part, is being replaced with newcomer Mike Castle. The single-camera project, directed by Shawn Levy, centers on newlyweds Annie (Moore) and Ben (Nelson Franklin), who get the opportunity of a lifetime to run a hip, new restaurant in Annie’s hometown bringing her closer to her needy and high-maintenance family. The character that is being reworked is Annie’s younger brother Zach. I hear that early on the pilot’s producers were interested in Castle for the role. However, the character underwent significant changes in subsequent drafts, which led to auditioning other actors, with Pumphrey winning the part. But after the table read, the producers revisited the original concept for Zach and opted to revert to it, casting Castle in the role.
