Alvaro Galvan is a Spanish filmmaker who moved to the USA in September
2009. He got a conservatory degree in filmmaking from the New York Film
Academy and since then he has written and directed several short films,
including "Door to Door" which is his official presentation as a
director to the film festival's circuit.
Back in Spain, he got a degree in Audiovisual Communication from Universidad Complutense de Madrid and also a master in Design and New Media. He started working as a graphic designer but after some time he decided to focus his career only in filmmaking.
He took his first steps as a director with the theatre company "La Ratonera" where he wrote and directed two plays, "Robot's Dreams" -based on three Isaac Asimov' short stories- and an adaptation of Bram Stocker's "Dracula". He enjoyed the experience of working with actors so much that he decided to keep on developing his skills and finally he entered the world he had been passionate about since he was a child: the movies.
He works and lives in New York City as a freelance filmmaker, editor, art director and designer.
