2017-04-03T04:41:09-07:00John Cena Makes Big Announcement at Wrestlemania.
After having his love for Nikki Bella publicly questioned by The Miz before their match at WrestleMania 33, John Cena proposed to his longtime girlfriend on pro wrestling's biggest stage Sunday.
The proposal came after he and Nikki beat The Miz and his wife, Maryse, in a tag-team match.
The Wrestling Observer's Bryan Alvarez joked it finally answered one of the biggest questions about Cena's in-ring career.
Cena's failure to propose earlier was a part of the rivalry that led him and Nikki to cross paths with The Miz and Maryse at WrestleMania. During the buildup to the show, The Miz and Maryse ridiculed the couple and said Cena loved himself rather than Nikki.
Not only will Cena's proposal be a patented WrestleMania moment, but it could be a fitting send-off for Nikki, much like when her...

This time of year the WWE makes every effort they can to step up their performance. With Wrestlemania around the corner, they want to make sure as many eyes as possible are watching the Granddaddy of Them All. It’s also a time to reflect and honor the past as this is usually the time of year they start announcing the next WWE Hall of Fame class. Thanks to Bryan Alvarez from the Wrestling Observer, we may have some clue as to who will be a part of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2017. Let’s discuss the picks now but remember, until they’re confirmed by the WWE, these choices are strictly rumor at this point.
Diamond Dallas Page
A deserving choice if there ever was one. Starting off as a manager, he worked his way up in his late 30’s to become a wrestler and eventual WCW World Champion.

The actual attendance for WrestleMania 32 was just under 94,000.
Venue officials at Dallas’ At&T stadium confirmed the number to Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, with Bryan Alvarez tweeting “Dave got the actual number from the building, legit did just under 94,000 and $17 million gate. Legit broke fake record!”
WWE had unsurprisingly announced a figure of over 100,000 for the event, naming 101,763 during the event, with The Rock claiming it was the new record. It is standard for WWE to provide a worked number, and the previous record, WrestleMania 3’s 93,173, was also an exaggeration.
Roman Reigns and Triple H can now claim to have headlined the most successful wrestling show of all time, although the truth is that the ‘Mania brand name is what draws. Tickets were being sold in extremely large volume long before a single match had been announced for WrestleMania 32.

Every year, there’s speculation as to which of the huge matches announced for WrestleMania will close out the show, and this year is no different. While The Undertaker-Shane McMahon Hell in a Cell match has drawn the most interest for the event and potentially has the highest stakes, Triple H versus Roman Reigns is for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and represents the culmination of more than a year of Reigns’s monster push.
According to F4WOnline’s Bryan Alvarez, the current plan is to have Shane McMahon and The Undertaker headline the show. Of course, decisions such as those are subject to constant change, and nothing is set it stone until it actually happens.
If this bout were to go on last, it would mark The Undertaker’s fourth WrestleMania main event (after WrestleManias 13, 24, and 26) and Shane’s first. It would also be only...

There’s a major internet rumour making the rounds that Goldberg will be returning at WWE WrestleMania 32 on Sunday.
We must stress, rumour… but nevertheless, the chatter is strong.
The well-connected Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com disclosed on Wrestling Observer Radio that a least one major WrestleMania 32 surprise was planned for Sunday that very few WWE employees know about.
He stressed that this wasn’t in relation to the highly expected and heavily reported debuts of Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson as part of a new Bullet Club (likely re-named to Balor Club) but something else entirely.
Alvarez added that by Saturday night, the surprise could be out of the bag and many people could become aware of who the returning star could be.

The return of Shane McMahon to WWE television this week coincides with a major shift in relation to the company’s philosophy heading into WrestleMania 32 in just over a month’s time.
According to recent reports, WWE television is about to become more “edgy” over the next several weeks to build some momentum up toward the biggest show of the year.
Discussing the topic on Wednesday’s edition of Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez spoke of sources telling him that the product would see this change in philosophy, at least until WrestleMania. There were several aspects of this shift during Monday night’s show which would seem to be evidence that indicate this is indeed the case.
Vince McMahon openly dropped an “f-bomb” during his segment with Shane, causing the censors to have to mute the sound for a couple of seconds. With Vince being the owner of the company,...

There have been rumours swirling of Braun Strowman versus either The Undertaker or Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, but LordsOfPain are reporting that The Beast versus The Black Sheep won’t be happening. Instead, it is expected to be The Undertaker versus Strowman, with PWInsder reporting that’s the plan as of this week.
Apparently Vince McMahon had been keen on Strowman against Lesnar, but was talked out of it. Ironically, that would have been a safer bet than Strowman and The Undertaker. Trusting the rookie giant with the fifty year old veteran’s damaged body is a bit of a risk. Nevertheless, LordsOfPain quote Bryan Alvarez as saying that Vince McMahon loves the idea of Strowman facing The Deadman. What’s worth noting is that earlier in the week Alvarez said the bout was still speculation.

Despite reports over the weekend claiming that Bryan Alvarez had said The Undertaker would be facing Braun Strowman at WrestleMania 32, the news is premature. Alvarez has taken to Twitter to confirm that he was only speculating that could be a possibility.
The false report was brought to the attention of Dave Meltzer, who replied “Wow, another story I didn’t write.”
Alvarez then retweeted a fan who said “no, Bryan speculated it because braun was protected in the rumble, it’s Speculation.”
Alvarez then tweeted “I am going to start blocking people who do this.”
The truth of it is, nobody knows what exactly WWE has in mind for The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32 yet, which is fairly stunning. Braun Strowman was protected at the Royal Rumble, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll be the one chosen to face the deadman. The rumours have swirled for months...

Our worst fears have been confirmed.
Yesterday on the Wrestling Observer Live radio show, Bryan Alvarez indicated that he’d heard from a source within WWE that the plan is for Braun Strowman to square off with The Big Show at Fastlane and beat him, which will then set up a WrestleMania showdown with The Undertaker.
Dave Meltzer has spoken at length in his Wrestling Observer Newsletter about The Undertaker’s scheduled WrestleMania match with John Cena, which was scrapped due to Cena’s recent shoulder injury and surgery.
With a lack of top level opponents for The Deadman, it seems the choice has been made to go with the huge monster of the Wyatt Family.
In the early days of ‘Taker’s WrestleMania career, he would work with larger opponents like Giant Gonzalez and King Kong Bundy which resulted in generally awful bouts that fans still complain about over twenty years later.

The male winner of 2015’s WWE Tough Enough, Josh Bredl, made headlines this week when he made some disparaging comments on Twitter about The Social Outcasts during Monday’s edition of Raw. Bredl called them the “Social Jobbers,” and he received some serious blow-back from several WWE stars, including Stardust and Kevin Owens.
Bredl then dug an even deeper hole for himself when he responded to Kevin Owens’ tweet about blocking him with a “Lol.” Owens, a man known for always getting the best of people in Twitter disputes, responded appropriately:

Josh Bredl could debut in WWE at this Sunday’s Royal Rumble. F4wonline reports that all Nxt talent will be there at the event, and people in the company want to see him debut in the Rumble match.
The reason for that, is all the heat he has courted this past week. As we noted earlier, Bredl made a comment about the Social Outcasts being “Social Jobbers”, which caused Stardust and Kevin Owens to hit back at him on Twitter. “Probably going to be a long day for young Josh,” Bryan Alvarez stated in his update about Bredl being backstage at the Rumble.
The wrestlers will want to see him in the Rumble match so that they can chop the hell out of him. That’s what happened with Tough Enough winner Daniel Puder back in 2005, with Chris Benoit and Hardcore Holly legit beating the hell out of the arrogant rookie.

As we gear up for this Sunday’s Royal Rumble, traditionally the third biggest event of the year for WWE, the wrestling world is abuzz on possible surprise entrants for the trademark battle royal. Especially interesting this year is the possibility of some big-name New Japan Pro Wrestling stars, rumored to be signing with WWE, entering the match.
It is indeed a possibility for two of them, while the other two have no possibility of appearing in front of the fans in Orlando at the show.
The biggest name people are wondering about is Aj Styles. The latest information going around is that WWE is thinking of holding Styles’ WWE debut off until next week’s Raw, rather than having him appear at the Rumble. Aj Styles won’t be appearing for WWE in the Royal Rumble, and will instead debut on the post-Rumble Raw. Bryan Alvarez reports that WWE are looking at that scenario, based on the worry that fans simply won’t have a clue who he is.
It is a fair point, the majority of WWE’s audience (and Vince McMahon) know nothing about Aj Styles, and it would be a terrible start if he showed up to the sound of silence at the Rumble. The internet wrestling community is a vocal minority, and his work in New Japan / Ring Of Honor is just a niche compared to WWE’s mainstream. Buzz around his signing doesn’t reflect the reality of how he will be perceived live.
Instead, there’ll be a vignette, and then he’ll turn up on the post Rumble Raw. As of right now,...

WWE are completely redoing WrestleMania, Dave Meltzer is reporting on Wrestling Observer Radio.
This is following the news that John Cena has a shoulder injury, which WWE believe will rule him out of the April 3 show.
“They are redoing WrestleMania, they’re going with the idea he’s not going to be there,” Meltzer said.
However, Meltzer did point out that Cena has demonstrated amazing recovery times in the past. There’s always the slight chance that the same miraculous rehab could happen again, but it isn’t very likely this time around.
Bryan Alvarez added “Vince had six matches for Mania a year in advance, they all fell apart.”
The reason for the recent swathe of injuries is thought to be WWE’s training style. Meltzer and Alvarez criticised the olympic style weigh lifting that goes on amongst WWE superstars. It perhaps isn’t a coincidence that...

The Miz has spoken about WWE’s drug testing policy, revealing details about its thoroughness. It isn’t something you hear WWE superstars talking about often, given the negative associations of WWE and drugs in the past.
Miz told the “Allegedly with Theo Von & Matthew Cole Weiss” show that WWE is now tested more than most major American sports, and he went on to really put over the health checks;
“We are tested more than an NFL [player], Major League Baseball player, or in the NBA. I mean, we are tested nonstop, all day, every day. We’re not allowed to have Sudafed. And kudos to WWE because they took an interest in our health. We get tested. Our hearts get tested.

WWE has hired the son of Mick Foley as a Creative Writer’s Assistant.
Dewey Foley, 23, will star work with the company in January and tweeted his thoughts on the matter over the weekend, stating; ‘while my last name is beneficial, my work ethic is unparalleled and my creativity is something that I’ve shown off all my life’.
This is likely in response to critics who hit out at Dewey’s appointment on social media, citing nepotism as a key factor. Mick himself took to Facebook to discuss his son’s hiring, and responded to these claims in defiance, explaining:
‘My son was not given this job because of his last name. He earned it. He earned it by working for hundreds of hours in solitude, with no compensation, to prove his writing skills and mind for the business. There are no piece-of-cake jobs in WWE.’

‘My son was not given this job because of his last name. He earned it. He earned it by working for hundreds of hours in solitude, with no compensation, to prove his writing skills and mind for the business. There are no piece-of-cake jobs in WWE.’

An illness ruled out Kevin Owens from appearing on WWE Raw this past Monday.
Wrestlezone’s Justin Labar received confirmation that he was sent home sick on Monday;
“WWE sent him home after few hours. He also had his son with him who came down with sickness.”
Vince McMahon infamously doesn’t believe in sick days, but this was one appears to have been serious for WWE officials to write him off the show. Labar mentioned on Twitter that his sources said Owens looked pretty sick.
Owens is expected back next week, in order to continue his feud with Dean Ambrose for TLC.
Lots of fans took to social media on Monday, expressing their disappointment that Owens wasn’t featured, while Wrestling Observer Radio host Bryan Alvarez said that he felt Owens should have been used as a member of The League Of Nations.

Lana has “nuclear heat” within WWE right now, according to Dave Meltzer.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer’s co-host Bryan Alvarez added that he’d be surprised if we ever see her again, though Meltzer believes she will be back at some point, as she is training at the WWE Performance Center right now.
The reason for all the heat is down to Lana’s social media. Firstly, she upset Vince McMahon when she posted photos of her engagement ring from Rusev on Instagram a couple of months ago. That basically killed McMahon’s storyline in which she was meant to be feuding with Rusev.
Then this past week, she posted a series of personal shots at Paige on Twitter. She accused Paige of being a bully, which resulted in several other divas and Paige firing back. Whether there was any truth in Lana’s accusations or not,...

WWE and Sting could be having problems with each other, Bryan Alvarez has speculated on Wrestling Observer Radio. He said that maybe something will come out in the next few days.
Alvarez’s comments stem from the fact that WWE played a video highlight package on Raw that showed last year’s Survivor Series main event. However, they totally erased Sting’s major role in the proceedings. Dave Meltzer agreed with Alvarez that he found it a little weird. Why would they erase Sting from history like that, but still remind the audience of the woeful Authority being removed angle?
It is a strange situation, one which will hopefully become clearer soon. Sting is currently injured, having been unable to cope with the physicality in his Night Of Champions main event against WWE Champion Seth Rollins. Could that be the reason WWE are now covering up his huge...

There was a backstage commotion in WWE’s gorilla position during The Undertaker versus Brock Lesnar, Dave Meltzer is reporting on Wrestling Observer Radio. This was most likely over the fact that Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker were bleeding.
The blood loss came via a hardway, there was no blading involved. However, it did look like both men did bleed intentionally, they went after the hardway cut.
Although there was a “commotion”, it isn’t too likely that Taker or Lesnar will be in too much trouble. They are on huge money and Vince McMahon wants to keep in good graces with them.
“There was stuff going on in the back, there was a commotion in the gorilla position,” Meltzer says,”but Lesnar isn’t going to get yelled at like he’s a Dolph Ziggler. There was no blade involved.”
“Vince freaked out, Kevin Dunn freaked out,” Bryan Alvarez added.

John Cena will be filming something during his time off, Bryan Alvarez has confirmed on Wrestling Observer Radio. However, that isn’t necessarily his main reason for taking time off. And the filming isn’t necessarily the fitness show that has been rumoured.
The rumour of a Cena TV project came out on Monday, however he asked WWE for the time off months ago and the Observer reported it as “personal reasons.”
WWE officials continue to be very quiet on why Cena will be away. The rumour of the fitness TV Show should be taken as speculation for now. What sounded odd about that story, was the time-frame, as well as the fact that it was supposedly for the Fox Network. Plus, if Cena was involved in some sort of new television show, there’s no reason why WWE wouldn’t just announce it.

As WWE’s dull autumn season continues to plod on, many fans are already turning their attention to WrestleMania 32. A few of this week’s questions will discuss Mania plans. Judging by the recent booking of Raw, WWE’s attention is also distracted towards the April 3rd megashow. It is like no attention is being paid to short term booking, as Raw continually throws up illogical segments.
That resulted in one of the worst Raw ratings since 1997 this week, in a show that Bryan Alvarez described as one of the baddest Raw shows of the year.
One solution has been the suggestion that Raw should call up some of the Nxt talent, so let’s get straight to a question on that subject!
10. When Should The WWE Bring Sami Zayn And Finn Balor On To The Main Roster? And How? WWE.com
Thanks to Joe Pickford @joe_pickford for the question.

According to Bryan Alvarez on today’s Wrestling Observer Live show, Jericho is expected to be a regular on WWE programming all the way through to WrestleMania 32, including working January’s Royal Rumble PPV.
It’s expected that Y2J will be present on WWE Raw tonight and that he could pick-up the story from where it was left off on Sunday’s show with the tension between Jericho, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose brewing over after losing to the Wyatt family in a six man tag. The long term plan for the feud is for Jericho to turn fully-fledged heel.

WWE superstar Bo Dallas could be undergoing a gimmick change in the near future, according to Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.
There were some slight changes to the Dallas character on Smackdown this past week. He debuted a new finish (a neckbreaker while his opponent’s legs are on the ropes) that looks much stronger than his “Running Bodog” move that he was doing before.
Following his win over R-Truth on Smackdown, Dallas did a backstage interview. He complained about how he was turned into a joke after all he’s done to try to help “them.” He said that what he did to R-Truth (attacking him after the match) was really funny while noting that he will be a lot more humourous in the future. He had a lot of sarcasm in his voice when he said “really funny” and “humorous” there.

Brock Lesnar versus The Undertaker looks like it will be left on hold until WWE WrestleMania 32, reports Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer on wrestling observer radio.
“It looks like no Undertaker for a while and they’ll just hold it off until WrestleMania 32,” Alvarez stated.
“Yep, that’s what it looks like,” Meltzer replied, “Lesnar’s not advertised for anything other than the Garden.”
There had been some speculation that the match could take place at Survivor Series, as Undertaker is booked for a WWE tour of Mexico in October. But holding it off until Mania always seemed the likelier option, as in WWE’s mind the final chapter of this trilogy will be one of the biggest matches in company history.

It could have been Paul Heyman who came up with SummerSlam’s controversial main event finish, Dave Meltzer has suggested on Wrestling Observer Radio.
“The second that thing happened I thought it was a Paul Heyman,” Meltzer said, “he has came up with a lot of finishes based off Mma.”
Bryan Alvarez added “It was a Ufc finish with a Steve Mazzagatti referee.”
Mazzagatti was the Ufc referee who missed Brock Lesnar tapping repeatedly to Frank Mir at Ufc 81. The often criticised ref did eventually see Brock’s tap, but the incident left Lesnar furious. The other Mma themes in Lesnar and Taker’s match were obvious, they did a lot of boxing and submission styles, with both men using Mma techniques as finishers.
Heyman was likely the one who suggested it, as it is pretty notorious that Vince McMahon and others in WWE creative are completely ignorant of Ufc.

WWE are going to feature a huge surprise on tonight’s Raw, and it could be WrestleMania 32 related.
“Something big is happening, probably WrestleMania related,” Dave Meltzer commented on wrestling observer radio, as he and Bryan Alvarez previewed tonight’s Raw.
Alvarez then offered an alternative theory, suggesting that Ufc Interim Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor could be appearing in a segment with Sheamus. However, Alvarez then quickly shot down his own theory. The two Irishman had a war of words on Twitter earlier in 2015, but McGregor is very unlikely to appear on WWE television. He’s arguably Ufc’s biggest star behind Ronda Rousey, and it wouldn’t make sense for him to risk his star power.
So a Mania 32 announcement is the likely surprise. Logically, it would be the announcement of Brock Lesnar versus The Undertaker as WrestleMania’s main event. The two men had a disputed finish at SummerSlam,...

Kane is scheduled for an imminent return to WWE, states Dave Meltzer on wrestling observer radio.
He told co-host Bryan Alvarez that “The one thing I see in the Lesnar match, is Kane coming back. I don’t like the idea, but it could happen.”
Alvarez then mentioned how it made sense, with Kane having been sidelined since Lesnar “broke” his leg. Meltzer pointed out that before the injury angle, WWE had deliberately tied Kane and Undertaker together as brothers in several scripted lines.
“If Taker’s going to be a heel and win, that’s a way to be a heel and win, is to have outside interference.”
It does make sense, but it would be an unbelievably disappointing finish. Which ironically makes even more sense, as WWE may be wanting to get boos. On the flip side, a reuniting of The Brothers Of Destruction could just as easily provoke cheers.

The feud has been teased ever since Rollins started bragging about how he’s the greatest WWE Champion ever and was ramped up when he started using the Pedigree as a finisher.

The likely scenario would be for Rollins to turn babyface with Triple H staying in the heel role because if Hunter is going to be on television it makes sense to keep him heel, especially if he’s going to face The Rock at WrestleMania next year.

A WWE source has told PWInsider that Daniel Bryan’s injury was expected to take a month to heal. That was the time frame when WWE first sent Bryan home from the European Tour last week. It could still change, with wwe.com currently stating that Bryan is undergoing “diagnostic testing” to determine if he’ll be fit to defend the Intercontinental Title against Bad News Barrett at Extreme Rules this Sunday.
The source told PWInsider that the injury occurred on the April 9th event in Dublin, Ireland. The match was Bryan teaming with Dolph Ziggler and Erick Rowan against the team of Barrett, Sheamus and Bray Wyatt.
There’s no exact word on what the injury was, other than that it was initially thought it would take a month to heal. That’s good in some ways, as four weeks suggest it isn’t anything too bad.

Daniel Bryan was sent home from WWE’s european tour due to a concussion, reports Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio. This was stemming from the rough Sheamus match that Bryan worked on Smackdown two weeks ago.
“He suffered a concussion,” Alvarez states, “there’s concern he had suffered a concussion in the Sheamus match.”
However, Alvarez does state that there could be more to the story. If Bryan had suffered a concussion two weeks ago, why was he working for the first week of this tour? Either it wasn’t initially diagnosed or there’s more to this situation than we know.
In some ways, it is good news to hear that the reason for pulling Bryan was just a concussion. That’s not to say that a concussion isn’t serious, but it certainly isn’t as serious as a neck injury. The initial fear, and...

WWE Divas were subjected to a string of sexually suggestive chants at the Raw taping in San Jose the night after WrestleMania.
Paige, Aj Lee and Naomi were taking on Natalya and The Bella Twins. During the match, the crowd chanted “You suck Cena” at Nikki Bella. They followed up with “You suck Bryan” at Brie Bella, “You suck Tyson” at Natalya, and “You suck Uso” at Naomi. There were also reports that some fans chanted “You suck Punk” at Aj Lee.
For fans who don’t know, Nikki is John Cena’s girlfriend. Natalya is married to Tyson Kidd, Brie Bella is married to Daniel Bryan, Naomi is married to Jimmy Uso, and Aj Lee is married to Cm Punk.
The chant was crude and obviously unpleasant for the ladies in the ring. The WWE were attempting to present a serious divas contest, following the internet wrestling community calls to #GiveDivasAChance.

WWE held an all talent meeting before Monday’s Raw broadcast. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, management told the crew that if they had a problem, as in the problems that were experienced with Bill DeMott, that they should be coming to management and letting them know first.
On the idea of talent going to WWE management, Bryan Alvarez hilariously quipped “it did wonders for a lot of people.”
This is a reference to the unhelpful attitude of WWE’s management structure. The people who run the company are wildly out of touch, and tend to blame the talent before stopping to consider their own positions and structures. Based on their past experiences, the talent have no reason to trust the management to resolve difficult situations.
This is why talent end up leaving the company and then speaking out. They know that internally they are wasting their breath, but...

WWE’s main roster is growing discontent with the freedom given to Nxt wrestlers, according to Bryan Alvarez on The Bryan And Vinny Show. An inside source told Alvarez that the WWE Divas are particularly frustrated at the freedom Nxt Divas are getting to perform big spots and long matches.

The WWE top brass likely already know The Undertaker’s decision on working and confirmation could come very soon. That leaves Daniel Bryan even more out of the picture. It had looked like Wyatt vs Bryan was established for a Mania programme, but Observer Radio host Bryan Alvarez has now predicted that it will in fact be Bryan vs Sheamus.

WrestleMania 32 will be held at the Cowboys Stadium (At & T Stadium) in Dallas, Texas. WWE confirmed the news after Monday’s Raw from Dallas. The company also revealed the date for the show as Sunday April 3rd 2016. A press conference with Vince McMahon, John Cena and Hulk Hogan is scheduled for later on Tuesday.
This news was long expected and it will have major implications for the WWE and WWE fans. The big talking point is the attendance capability, which hosts 80,000 fans for football games and is expandable to 105,000 when the pitch is converted to standing room. The likelihood is that WWE will use WrestleMania 32 to establish a new attendance record of 100,000 WWE fans.
If demand is less than 100,000, the WWE could save face by setting up for as little as 70,000. However, the global appeal of WrestleMania will surely fill the full capacity. The company record attendance is currently 80,676 from WrestleMania 29.

The decision to add Seth Rollins into the WWE Title match at Royal Rumble was made in the past two weeks, reports Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Meltzer added to the report that his belief was that John Cena would win in the originally planned Cena vs Lesnar match. He then thought that Rollins was going to cash in Money In The Bank to steal the title. That angle would’ve also involved a heel like Lesnar or Rusev attacking Cena in his post match victory, thus helping Rollins pull off the cash in. Also, if Lesnar had signed a new WWE deal, something else would’ve been planned.
WWE has now made the match Cena vs Lesnar vs Rollins. Maybe they did that because they’ve lost faith in Cena vs Lesnar as a feud, given how disappointingly it performed in commercial and critical stakes at Night Of Champions.

Cm Punk is set to be the major talking point of Stone Cold Steve Austin’s interview with Vince McMahon on WWE Network tonight.
Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Radio believes that Austin will ask McMahon about Punk’s exit issues, but in a manner that doesn’t reference last week’s specific Punk interview with Colt Cabana. Alvarez thinks that McMahon will respond to the Punk issue with a brief and politically correct statement.
That’s the sensible thing to do. Austin and McMahon can work together to informally brush up last week’s Punk mess. A small section of soundbites will suffice. This will be a PR measure that corrects Punk’s accusations of incompetent behaviour in the WWE.
Alternatively, McMahon may judge that it is best to say nothing at all about Cm Punk. The problem with that is it makes Steve Austin’s credibility as a podcaster look really weak.

Triple H wants to kill Cm Punk, reports Bryan Alvarez on Figure Four Daily Radio.
Alvarez has talked with his sources within WWE, with one text from an insider matter of factly stating “Triple H wants to kill Punk.”
This is following Punk’s interview on Colt Cabana’s podcast, where Punk disparaged Hunter and the WWE in general.
As for Vince McMahon, he is described as calm. He wasn’t happy with some of Punk’s comments, but it wasn’t as if he was over the top angry or upset.
On the other hand, Stephanie McMahon is “fuming”.
“Hunter and Stephanie have such an abject hating of Cm Punk. They are fuming” Alvarez reveals.
Punk has been placed on the “ultimate no call list” and will never be welcomed back to WWE by Triple H or Stephanie. There’s a chance that Vince could look at doing business,...

The rumour that Aj Lee will retire at WWE’s 2014 Survivor Series has now been mentioned by Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio. There really isn’t anything to confirm or deny the speculation, but the fact that the rumour has gained so much attention could be telling. Apparently, if she loses to Nikki at Survivor Series, it will be a strong indication that she’s done.
Indeed, just last week, I stated “It will be interesting to see how 2015 plays out – the WWE may not suit her or her employer.”
That was following the news that Aj was rebranding herself online as Aj Brooks. The WWE aren’t keen on their talent having outside ventures, so it was definitely a curious move for Aj to make.
Brooks is of course the name she took when marrying Cm Punk. By trading on Aj Brooks, she is potentially providing...

The WWE Network is running as normal and was only down briefly this week due to technical difficulties. There had been some speculation as to what had caused a brief outage on Wednesday night, with Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio saying that one rumour was a hacking.
That rumour was false. The WWE Network was not hacked. This was just a brief outage, which can be normal for services of this type. Technical difficulties are sometimes unavoidable and this was in no way a security breach.
Fans will be glad to see the Network back running as normal. This is Ecw Week and the content has been a brilliant journey through the land of Extreme. It all started with the brand new ‘Ecw Exposed’ show on Monday night, in which Paul Heyman and Joey Styles gave an insightful explanation of Ecw’s history. Several old Ecw shows...

The WWE Network has experienced a major failure in the last twenty four hours. The service went down and was unavailable for a time, in what is being reported as a hack.
“This is unofficial right now, but someone in WWE said the Network was hacked,” Bryan Alvarez said on Wrestling Observer Radio.
Further details on the shutdown haven’t emerged. It’s just the source that talked to Alvarez, so there’s no way of knowing if this really was a hack or a case of a technical failure.
As of right now, the Network is back up and running.
This has been just the latest embarrassment in WWE’s Network history. The service has been much derided for lack of content updates and failure to deliver fresh content. From the commercial standpoint, it has been a real struggle to attain the target million subscriber goal. Currently there are only 731,000 subscribers,...

Randy Orton is scheduled to start filming the WWE Films movie The Condemned 2 on November 11. It’s a date that was confirmed by Orton on Twitter last week. Next week’s Raw takes place in England and Orton has already been taken off the European tour, so he won’t be there. Because of that, there’s a chance that he could be taken off television tonight on Raw according to Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez from their last radio show on F4Wonline.com.
Due to his movie commitments, which usually take about 4-5 weeks as we’ve seen with others in the last year like The Miz, Summer Rae, Kane and Dean Ambrose, there’s speculation that Orton may be taken out on Raw this week and that he may also miss Survivor Series on November 23. However, Meltzer also noted that since it’s a WWE...

Last night’s Raw was another show that left WWE fans scratching their hands about some of the things that happened. It seemed like the goal was to push Dean Ambrose and his return, which is fine, but everything else on the show just seemed off.
During last night’s Wrestling Observer Radio at F4WOnline, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez talked about some of the creative issues with the show. They noted that Paul Heyman was originally booked for Raw to talk about the WWE Title situation, but if you watched the show then you know that there was no sign of him all night.
Brock Lesnar was also not on Raw. He never booked for or advertised to be at the show, so that’s to be expected, but fans also expected to at least here from one of them to talk about the previous night...

Cm Punk and WWE’s parting of the ways could turn into a legal dispute, reports Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio. The situation between both sides is very bad, with WWE reportedly very upset with how things have gone down. As for Punk, he has vowed never to wrestle again.
The exact nature of any potential legal action is unknown. What we do know is that Punk walked out on his contract in January of this year. In July the contract expired, leaving Punk a free man, but also leaving WWE shy of six months work from their former star performer.
“This thing could turn into a major legal issue – and it may already have been” Dave Meltzer states.
“There was nothing filed as of two weeks ago, but there’s people bracing for it that something might end up there.”
Whatever the legal implications, there’s...

After the reveal of a disappointing WWE Network subscriber account, the WWE has looked to fix flaws as it pertains to the service. Pretty soon, you may not have the luxury of sharing your Network password with your friends and family.
According to Figure 4 Weekly, the WWE has finally acknowledged a major issue with the Network, in that users can share their passwords with multiple users. On a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez revealed that someone e-mailed him stating that they shared it with up to ten users at once, without any problem. It’s more than likely that WWE will be looking to fix this soon, in an effort to increase subscribers.
WWE also recently sent a survey to fans in an effort to check fan interest in the possibility of running WWE Fantasy Camps at their state of the art Performance Center in Orlando.
