Rock en español veterans Maná revived one of their greatest hits on Friday with an assist from Colombian balladeer Sebastián Yatra. Originally released on their 1995 album Cuando los Ángeles Lloran, Maná’s latest, “No Ha Parado De Llover” is one of many upcoming remixed classics from their great era rockera.
A 2018 Latin Grammys gala first sparked the clean-cut collaboration where the Latin Recording Academy also honored Maná with a Person of the Year award. On that night, Latin Grammy-nominated balladeer Yatra performed an evocative version of “No Ha Parado De...

According to Variety, Sony has nabbed Robot and Frank, a sci-fi film that stars Frank Langella as Frank, a retired ex-burglar whose kids give him a robot servant (voiced by Peter Sarsgaard) to act as a caretaker. Early reviews indicate that, from this point forward, things get very sweet and funny — or, exactly what I’d want from a movie about an old man and a robot. The rest of the cast is an impressive lineup, one which is led by Susan Sarandon, James Marsden, Liv Tyler, Jeremy Sisto, and Jeremy Strong.
Senior VP of acquisitions, Joe Matukewicz, called it a “winning film [that] strikes a special chord with audiences,” going on to say that they’re “delighted to bring Robot & Frank into the Sony Pictures family. Director Jake Schreier, meanwhile, sounded mutually enthusiastic about working with the studio, but you should expect that by now. Personally, I only have interest...

You can tell how massive and diverse a festival like Tribeca is by the fact that I saw 10 features and a whole bunch of shorts, yet only one film I saw won an award and none received special mention. I want to congratulate Rider & Shiloh Strong for winning best online short for their amazing film, The Dungeon Master. I have been pushing it as my favorite short of the festival and apparently many people agreed with me. Below is the list of all the winners & special mentions. Congratulations to all of them and congrats to everyone who just played at the festival, which is a huge honor by itself.

In an event held at the Union Square W Hotel in Manhattan, the 10th annual Tribeca Film Festival announced its major prize winners (with the Heineken Audience Award to be announced on Saturday, April 30). The festival has been influential in recent years in finding the best documentaries of the year, and often also in helping to bring them to fruition.
Consequently, the judges’ choices of winners of the documentary categories should be taken seriously, and those films tracked down as must-viewing over the year/s ahead.
For the filmmakers, one of the true rewards that sets this festival apart, in addition to the cash and in-kind prizes that come with these awards, are the Tribeca Film Festival Art Awards sponsored by Chanel, which gift original pieces of art to the winners below. Any endeavor where art inspires art across different media is worthy of support, and nothing could be more New York.

Director Pablo Croce Tribeca: Tell us a little about Like Water. Pablo Croce: Like Water takes audiences on the journey of reigning Ufc champ Anderson Silva. It's a look into the most private and honest day-to-day life of the man behind the fighter. It's a great doc that minimizes the use of talking heads to tell the story. Nothing can truly recreate reality as it is. We get close very close in arts, but the unpredicted chain of events of reality is never surpassed. This film uses a cinema verite approach to narrate the events, subtle moments and facts of this man's journey from one controversial fight to the other. I must say our editor Andy Grieve was fundamental on achieving this. What an amazing editor! Tribeca: What is the inspiration for the title of the film? Pablo Croce: It comes from Anderson and an interview with Bruce Lee...
