Chicago Fire Season 12 has come to an end, and now we're turning our attention to the next installment.
Was this season our favorite? No, definitely not.
But it had its moments, and it certainly set us up for some major drama when the show returns in the fall.
After the stunning revelation that Eamonn Walker will not be returning (at least not in the same capacity), we're left to wonder how 51 will handle a leadership change.
Plus, several huge relationship-related bombs were dropped during the season finale that season 13 will have to address.
Does Violet love Carver back? Will next season deliver a Stellaride baby? How will Kelly deal with the news of another long-lost half-sibling?
Chicago Fire Season 2 Episode 7 Review: No Regrets
Hopefully, all these questions and more will be answered when the show returns.
For now, here's everything we know about what to expect from Chicago Fire Season 13.

Many Chicago Fire characters have been missing in action this season, leading to questions about their whereabouts.
The absences became particularly pronounced during the latest episode (Inside Man), where Kelly Severide (played by Taylor Kinney) got taken for a ride by some domestic terrorists.
Truck 81 was stolen from Firehouse 51, forcing the remaining people on shift to work together with Chicago P.D. to track down and save Severide.
With Chief Boden still on leave and Severide mysteriously gone, it fell upon the other leaders of the firehouse to lead the rescue.
The action helped shift some of the focus away from the fact that Mouch (Christian Stolte) and Sam Carver (Jake Lockett) were also gone.
Within the storylines, Mouch was at a training session, Carver was on furlough, and Boden was off helping his stepson.
Why are so many characters missing from the Chicago Fire episodes?

The Chicago Fire hiatus ended Wednesday night with a new episode called The Wrong Guy.
Paramedic Lyla Novak (Jocelyn Hudon) was introduced in the previous episode as the new partner for Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith).
Novak stepped in after Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker) sent Jared Lennox (Wesam Keesh) packing. Lennox didn’t fit at Firehouse 51, as the team sought a replacement for Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer).
Violet wasn’t sure about Novak at first, but she was won over by Novak’s skills in the field and outgoing personality.
Rome Flynn has also departed from the Chicago Fire cast. He played firefighter Jake Gibson, the character replacing Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende).
More casting changes are in store this season, so be ready One Chicago fans.

Chicago Fire Season 12 has added a new firefighter who will appear in the final episodes this year.
The show took a long spring hiatus but finally returns on May 1 with new episodes and a new cast member.
Rome Flynn ended his run as firefighter Jake Gibson, with the character failing to finish the season.
Gibson entered the picture with a troubled past, including accidentally killing someone in the boxing ring. His demons caught up with him, and a drug problem caused Gibson to leave Firehouse 51.
That character was added as a replacement for Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende), who left Chicago to spend time with his newly-found family.
Gallo had been a fan-favorite on Chicago Fire, so it was a difficult task to replace him. The next man up now enters the revolving door at this particular firehouse.

Paramedic Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) married Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer) and then moved to Portland. Her exit was a tough one for the fans.
New Paramedic Jared Lennox (Wesam Keesh) dropped in for two episodes but wasn’t a good fit at the firehouse. Chief Boden sent him packing – a decision that could lead to repercussions later.

The Chicago Fire cast added soap star Rome Flynn for Season 12.
Following the exit of Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende), a new firefighter joined Firehouse 51.
Former boxer Jake Gibson became the new man at the house, but he had big shoes to fill. Gallo was a fan favorite and was integral to many storylines.

Firehouse 51 has lost another one of its own. New Chicago Fire cast member Rome Flynn has exited the NBC drama after six episodes.

Flynn joined Chicago Fire at the beginning of season 12 as new recruit Derrick Gibson, an ex-boxer with a troubled past. He took a spot on Truck 81 previously occupied by Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende), who left the show in the season premiere to move to Detroit.
Unfortunately, Gibson’s time at 51 was brief. As he eventually revealed to Carver (Jake Lockett), he’d embarked on a career as a firefighter after accidentally killing a man during a boxing match. But the trauma from that incident still haunted him. He was also abusing drugs in an attempt to cope with his mental health issues.

Chicago Fire season 11 ended with plenty of personal and professional drama. A sniper attack left Mouch clinging to life. And Stella Kidd set out to discover what exactly Kelly Severide was doing during his extended absence from the Windy City.
So, what’s next for the crew at Firehouse 51? Fans have been left to speculate for months, thanks to the actors’ and writers’ strikes delaying the show’s return. Now, with the season 12 premiere just weeks away, these are the questions we hope are answered in the first episode.

There’s another shakeup coming for 51 in Chicago Fire Season 12. Alberto Rosende will be leaving the NBC drama, with his last episode as firefighter Blake Gallo coming in the January 17 premiere, according to Deadline. Rosende’s Gallo was introduced in Season 8 as a candidate who seemed to take too many risks, and slowly, he’s revealed more about his tragic past (he lost his family in a fire when he was a kid) and has settled in as a staple at the firehouse. Gallo’s exit means yet another change coming for Truck 81. The series began with Casey (Jesse Spencer) in charge, and after he left, that was up in the air until Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) took over. Also on Truck are Mouch (Christian Stolte) and Carver (Jake Lockett). Last season did not end with a possible exit strategy for Gallo, though it did for Mouch: He was injured...

Chicago Fire cast spoilers reveal that actor Jake Lockett will be playing a firefighter named Crockett during Season 11 of the hit show.
There is still a lot of mystery about how the character will get introduced, but we now know that Lockett is playing Sam Carver, and he is credited within the first two episodes of Season 11 (so far).
The image above is from a call that takes place during Chicago Fire Season 11, Episode 2 (which is called Every Scar Tells a Story). That episode is set to debut on Wednesday, September 28.
According to his IMDb bio, Lockett graduated from Texas A&m University with a degree in Aerospace Engineering.
Lockett’s acting credits include an episode each of Seal Team, NCIS: Los Angeles, and Community, but this stop on Chicago Fire may be considered his big break within television.
