Krapopolis has a new trailer — watch it above.
The Dan Harmon-created animated series will launch on Sunday, September 24, on Fox. It will launch with a special two-episode preview following the NFL doubleheader on the network.
Krapopolis then will become part of the network’s Animation Domination block from Sunday, October 1, where it will air at 8:30 p.m. after The Simpsons and before Bob’s Burgers and Family Guy.
This comes after the series scored a third-season renewal before a frame of the toon has been seen by the viewing public.
Fox previously shifted Krapopolis to the 2023-24 season, shaking up its plans to premiere the series in a four-episode, two-hour block in May.
Krapopolis has had a very long gestation period. Harmon signed a direct deal with the broadcast network in July 2020 with a series commitment. In February 2021, the then-untitled show was handed a formal series order, making it...

The series will debut with a special two-episode preview on Sunday, Sept. 24 immediately following the NFL doubleheader that night.

After being publicly fired from the show he created, it seemed Dan Harmon was done with "Community" forever. Rarely, if ever, had a mainstream U.S. television network rehired a volatile showrunner after parting ways with them. Then again, "Community" always had a David and Goliath spirit and a surprising resilience to it, so anything was possible. Still, when NBC and Sony Pictures TV decided to bring Harmon back and hand him the keys to his show once again after an underwhelming fourth season without him, Harmon didn't have time to take a victory lap. Instead, as he relayed to Uproxx in an interview, he had one question: "Who the hell is gonna write the show"?
Because the negotiations to get him back took a little while to iron out, Harmon and his core team felt like they were already behind the eight ball when it came to season 5. "So...

Updated: The network upfronts are once again front-and-center for the television industry as major players gather in New York May 15-17 for the springtime ritual of presenting programming plans for the upcoming TV season.
Upfronts are always a hectic time, but this year it’s even more so because of the writers strike that began May 2. Writers and many actors are sitting out the upfront presentations in solidarity with the Writers Guild of America. The promise of WGA pickets surrounding all major events spurred Netflix to make a hasty decision to switch to a virtual presentation rather than an in-person event at the company’s Paris Theater.
As content chiefs outline their plans for the 2022-2023 television season, here is a running list of new drama and comedy series orders handed out by ABC, Disney, CBS, Warner Bros. Discovery, NBC, Fox, the CW and other major players in the upfront.

For a good long while, it seemed that the parody had become the lowest possible form of comedy. With such abhorrent cinematic garbage piles like the works of Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer dominating the form for nearly a decade, it felt like almost no one even knew how to make a decent parody anymore, let alone a good one.
Enter Dan Harmon. Thanks to his groundbreaking sitcom "Community" and its numerous episodes that parodied everything from specific classic movies to genres, he and his writers proved that parody could be more than just empty references and callbacks. Putting down-to-earth characters who go to a community college inside a pseudo-zombie apocalypse, as in one episode, is an extension of the way Edgar Wright made films first and parodies second in his early work like "Shaun of the Dead" and "Hot Fuzz."

Update 2/25: Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw and Simon Kinberg’s Genre Films have issued a statement about the end of The Twilight Zone series.
We greatly enjoyed our time working on The Twilight Zone — particularly when the real world around us often felt more and more like another dimension. We cherished the opportunity to collaborate with so many talented writers, actors and crewmembers. After 20 unique episodes, we have told the stories that we wanted to tell, and CBS All Access was gracious in their understanding of our decision. It was an honor and a privilege to bring audiences a modern re-imagining of Rod Serling’s iconic creation.

Seth MacFarlane is reviving the age old rivalry between jocks and nerds. The comedic actor is developing a reboot of the seminal ’80s comedy “Revenge of the Nerds” at 20th Century Studios.
Keith and Kenny Lucas, identical twin brothers best known for their scene-stealing roles in “22 Jump Street,” are set to write and star in the film. They are co-writing the script with Alex Rubens. MacFarlane will produce the reboot through his production company Fuzzy Door, along with Erica Huggins, who brought the project to the Lucas brothers and is spearheading development.
The upcoming version won’t be a remake of the 1984 comedy, which hasn’t aged all that well and has been criticized in recent years for depictions of rape. Instead, the contemporary reimagining will pontificate about today’s nerd culture and what even constitutes a geek in the 21st century.

This The Twilight Zone review contains spoilers.
The Twilight Zone Season 2 Episode 9
Time loops are awesome. Time loops are usually your favorite episode of any given sci-fi show, or, in the case of Russian Doll, the premise of a great sci-fi show. That said, because of the circular nature of time loops, it’s hard to do something new with time loops. In the penultimate episode of season 2 of the new Twilight Zone, writer Alex Rubens tries—and mostly succeeds—in giving a new edge to a time loop story. In “Try, Try” the Zone presents a spin on the usual time loop premise: What if a bad person was caught in a time loop?
The writing of “Try, Try” is fairly tight and interesting, but you can’t really talk about why this episode works without talking about its two stars, Kylie Bunbury and Topher Grace. The emotional rollercoaster...

The Twilight Zone Season 2 approaches rapidly like an ominous signpost up ahead, pointing to your next stop, CBS All Access, and now we know when and what to expect.
CBS All Access has released the trailer for the second season of The Twilight Zone, revealing its heretofore secret premiere date of Thursday, June 25, on which all 10-episodes will be available to stream; a strategy the diverges from Season 1 last year, which rolled out episode on a weekly basis. Check it out just below!
The trailer—a morose montage of mind-bending minutia set to the musical accompaniment of a haunting cover of Santo & Johnny’s 1959 classic, “Sleep Walk”—is appropriately rife with Rem-resembling insanity. While short on plot specifics, since the clip covers the entire season, we are introduced to the lineup of guest stars for this season’s anthology entries, with names like Billy Porter, Morena Baccarin, Jimmi Simpson, Jenna Elfman,...

“Community” fans, prepare to break out your #SixSeasonsAndAMovie battlecry once more: Dan Harmon says conversations are “happening that people would want to be happening” about a reunion movie and that he’s “very, very excited about the coming months.”
“I can tell people for sure that the enthusiasm for ‘Community,’ both for all of this time and the resurgence of it [on Netflix], there’s always an aspect of that affects the marketplace,” Harmon, who created the series, told TheWrap on Friday. “And when the marketplace gets affected, conversations happen. And when conversations happen, things happen.”
“I mean, when you’re part of the ‘Community’ family, you learn never to raise expectations, keep ‘em nice and low and then be pleasantly surprised,” he continued. “So I can say that there are conversations happening that people would want to be happening and that I’m very, very excited about the coming months.

[Editor’s note: The following post contains spoilers for “The Twilight Zone” first season finale, “Blurryman.”]
As the host of CBS All Access’ “The Twilight Zone” reboot, Jordan Peele has admirably taken on the Rod Serling role of providing the intro and outro commentary of each episode. Peele’s appearance before the opening and end credits has kept alive a tradition first started by Serling in October 1959, but it’s one Peele blows up entirely in the reboot’s first season finale, “Blurryman.” The episode’s script, written by Alex Rubens, takes a meta approach to the entire franchise in order to debate popular entertainment and art and figure out how and if “The Twilight Zone” represents an intersection of these terms.

The signpost ahead reads “The Twilight Zone,” ushering viewers to a realm that at once feels familiar and yet is almost entirely new. Executive producers Jordan Peele and Simon Kinberg have reimagined Rod Serling’s classic horror/science-fiction/fantasy series from the ‘60s for a whole new generation.
At an event in Hollywood this year, Kinberg revealed why it was the perfect time to bring back the show. “I think the world all of a sudden was in desperate need of ‘The Twilight Zone,’” he said. ‘If you said three, four years ago that like a reality star who had no political experience will be the leader of the free world with access to the nuclear button, you think that’s a crazy ‘Twilight Zone’ episode.”
Kinberg also said that the vision Peele and CBS All Access had meshed with how to tell stories while pushing it to the limits.

What price fame? Kumail Nanjiani is about to find out when he steps onto the stage of “The Twilight Zone.” CBS All Access revealed the trailer for the first two episodes of its anthology series reboot on Monday.
In the trailer below, Nanjiani plays the titular standup comedian Samir Wassan who frequents a little comedy club called Eddies (as in eddies of water perhaps). He’s struggling to find his voice when a mysterious man played by Tracy Morgan appears and seems to offer him the answer to his dreams. Sounds too good to be true? Of course! When one fan says that Samir “totally killed it,” it’s a foreboding sign of what’s in store for Samir and his ambitions. We’re getting dangerously close to getting to the point where it’ll be quicker to list all the intriguing names who aren’t a part of CBS All Access’ upcoming reboot of “The Twilight Zone.” Add to that ever-growing list Seth Rogen, who’ll appear in one episode of the series, which premieres April 1.
The unnamed episode will be scripted by “Key & Peele” alum Alex Rubens, who is writing for the new series that features Jordan Peele stepping into the Rod Serling roles as both narrator and executive producer.
Rogen is the latest addition to the cast following the first trailer, which also revealed the involvement of Tracy Morgan. The rapidly-expanding ensemble for the series also includes Kumail Nanjiani, Sanaa Lathan, Alison Tolman, John Cho, Jacob Tremblay, Rhea Seehorn, Jessica Williams, DeWanda Wise, Adam Scott, Steven Yeun, Greg Kinnear, Luke Kirby, and Chris Diamantopoulos.

Kumail Nanjiani (Silicon Valley) is headed to The Twilight Zone. The actor is set to star in one of the episodes that Jordan Peele is developing with writer Alex Rubens.
There are no details on what the episode will entail, but I like Nanjiani and it’ll be interesting to see what episode he’ll end up starring in. He will join Adam Scott, who was cast in the remake of the classic episode “Nightmare At 30,000 Feet”.
As far as the other episodes of the series goes, we know that they are also developing remakes of “Nick of Time” and “Rewind”. I hope that the series isn’t just remakes of classic episodes! I hope that they throw some original stories in the series as well.
Peele isn’t only producing the series, but he’s also hosting it and stepping into the shoes of the great Rod Serling. When previously talking about the series,...

Jordan Peele is on fire right now, following the insane success his directorial debut, Get Out. Get Out, the first of his planned social thrillers, only cost $4.5 Million to make and has gone on to gross $230 Million worldwide. As a result, Universal Pictures struck a first-look film deal with Peele's Monkeypaw Productions. The deal not only gives the studio first dibs on any movie created by Jordan Peele, but also has him producing other titles for the studio, including more micro-budget horror projects with Get Out producer Jason Blum. Peele also just signed on to help create and produce Lovecraft Country for HBO.
If you loved Get Out and were wondering when you will have the chance to check out Peele's next film, wonder no more! Deadline reports that Universal has set a release date of March 15, 2019 for Peele's Untitled Social Thriller. Peele will write, direct, and...
