Taylor Swift receives the award for Best Pop Vocal Album at The 66th Annual Grammy Awards
Women absolutely dominated the 2024 Grammys, from winning the top awards to delivering the most memorial performances of the February 4th broadcast. Miley Cyrus took home her first-ever Grammy wins, while Taylor Swift made Grammy Awards history for the most Album of the Year wins ever.
Swift also made Swifties worldwide happy by announcing she’ll release her 11th album, The Tortured Poets Department, on April 19, 2024.
Tracy Chapman brought down the house with a stunning performance of “Fast Cars” alongside Luke Combs. Joni Mitchell earned a rousing ovation for her first performance on the Grammy stage, singing “Both Sides Now” while backed by Brandi Carlile, Allison Russell, Sistastrings, Lucius, Jacob Collier, and Blake Mills. And Celine Dion, who is suffering from stiff person syndrome, put in a surprise appearance as presenter of the Album of the Year award.

Iggy Pop and Josh Homme have released the first trailer for their new documentary “American Valhalla,” which showcases their collaboration on Iggy’s latest studio album, “Post Pop Depression,” and the world tour the two embarked on following the release of the album. The punk legend and the Queens Of The Stone Age frontman recorded the album with Homme’s band member Dean Fertita and Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders. The documentary takes its name from one of the songs from the album.

Jack White has penned and produced a funky instrumental theme song for Maya Rudolph and Martin Short's new NBC variety show, Maya and Marty.
Along with White — who handles drums on the track — the Maya and Marty theme features Third Man Records musicians Dean Fertita on organ, Dominic Davis on bass, Fats Kaplin on pedal steel guitar and Lillie Mae Rische, who lays down the cut's charming, wah-wah warped guitar. The Maya and Marty theme marks the first time White has written music for a TV show.

Sixty-eight-year-old Iggy Pop, godfather of punk and a pioneer of art rock, recently revealed that he collaborated on an album with Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme and Dean Fertita and Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders. The record, called Post Pop Depression, could be his last, the often-shirtless icon says in a new interview for Apple Music. "I feel like I’m closing up after this," he said. "That’s what I feel. It’s my gut instinct."He'll still sing "Happy Birthday," though ... maybe. "If you call me and you want to work out a deal to come and sing 'Happy Birthday' at your mother’s, something like that I’ll refer you to someone. But to really make a real album you really have to put everything into it and the energy’s more limited now." He went on, "The kind of artist I am, I...

The New York Times reports that Iggy Pop and Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme made a now-not-so-secret album, slated to drop March 18, and are prepping their first round of promotional shows. Titled Post Pop Depression, the nine-track project was put together independently in a total of three weeks, with the help of Dean Fertita, from Qotsa; Matt Helders, from Arctic Monkeys; and other still-unnamed musicians. Judging by the tone of the Times story, Ppd might serve as a kind of coda (or beginning of a coda) to Iggy's already-lengthy career. "What happens after your years of service?" Iggy told the Times, when asked about the record's theme. "And where is the honor?" A brief tour with the new material and band (which will add the likes of Troy Van Leeuwen, from Qotsa, and Matt Sweeney, from Chavez) will take place in March as well, at a set...

Jack White is challenging his ex's claims he is violent. Following a restraining order granted to his ex, Karen Elson on July 19, the rocker's attorney Cathy Spears wrote in response: "Mr. White vehemently denies Ms. Elson's allegation that she is fearful for her safety, as well as the safety of the parties' two minor children." Pointing out emails from Elson, 34, to White, 38, as examples of amicability between the pair, Spears goes on to say that after signing in support of the restraining order, "Ms. Elson left the children with White for 10 days and traveled to New York for a work/pleasure trip.

It’s been six years since the California stoner rock band released their last LP, Era Vulgaris. Suffice to say, it wasn’t their best effort and instability in the band at the time (and since) has proven to be a large obstacle for Queens of the Stone Age.
It even required the band asking Josh Homme to come back and record after knee surgery that left him bedridden for a few months. After apparently experiencing death momentarily he must have had some sort of refreshing epiphany that made him write some brilliant new music. And that’s the background for their latest album, …Like Clockwork.
Extremely catchy and original guitar riffs show that the band are back on top form and Homme’s lyrics are brilliantly put across by his trembling baritone vocals. Every song clearly has input from each member of the band, including the subtle keyboard from Dean Fertita.

Mark Lanegan has been recording with Queens of the Stone Age as they work on their new album. The band confirmed on their Facebook and Twitter pages over the weekend that Lanegan - who has appeared on three previous Queens of the Stone Age albums - has been recording vocals. "Lanegan came by. He didn't say much, but he sang good. Troy Van Leeuwen said to Dean Fertita as overheard by Mikey Shoes," the brief message read. His appearance means that the core Songs for the Deaf-era lineup of Josh Homme, Nick Oliveri, Lanegan and Dave Grohl have all recorded contributions for (more)...
