Starfield is a dream come true for Bethesda Game Studios. The developer has crafted several iconic franchises like Fallout and The Elder Scrolls but this new ambitious space title was a passion project for the team. However, the game lacked one key feature for an open-world game.
It is bizarre to believe that Bethesda Game Studios didn’t include a proper interactive map system in the latest title and instead allowed the players to wander aimlessly to let them figure it out for themselves. Fortunately, an upcoming update later this month will remedy the problem and then some.

Starfield is a dream project for Bethesda Game Studios, and the Fallout developers have shed blood, sweat, and tears into developing this ambitious space title. However, the technical drawbacks have overshadowed the game and the studio will be releasing a much-needed update soon.
Patches and updates are common for video games nowadays, and some of them greatly improve the quality of life from a visual standpoint. And now it seems Bethesda is taking a page out of Cyberpunk 2077’s book, making the game look even better than it ever did before.

Bethesda Game Studios will fix one major issue fans had with Starfield.

The Super Bowl will once again feature ads promoting Jesus, thanks in large part to the billionaire family that leads Hobby Lobby.
He Gets Us, the billion-dollar campaign to further raise Jesus’ profile, will be back at the big game this year to spread the good word. According to Greg Miller, a spokesman for the campaign, a 60-second spot will appear in the first quarter of the matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers, followed by a 15-second spot in the second half of the CBS and Univision broadcasts.

Fans of superhero cinema showed up at theaters on Thursday to find out if DC’s Black Adam is going to “change the hierarchy” of the genre. New Line and DC‘s super-powered slugfest starring Dwayne Johnson as the titular anti-hero, earned 7.6 million in Thursday Night Preview screenings. The opening total marks a new high for the former wrestler turned Hollywood superstar when stacked against the following films: Fast and Furious 6 (7.5M), Hobbs and Shaw (5.8M), Jumanji: The Next Level (4.7M), San Andreas (3.1M) and Rampage (2.4M).
Analysts have adjusted Black Adam’s opening weekend total from 70M to 60M based on early reviews and the temperature of social media posts about the film. Black Adam is taking a beating from critics, with many saying the movie is a mediocre spectacle that crumples under its weight. On the other side of the spectrum, casual audiences and comic book fans enjoy the film much more.

While you’d think that the long-awaited debut of the new Nintendo Switch would be cause for nearly universal celebration among Nintendo fans, the Nintendo Switch Oled is already proving to be incredibly divisive.
In case you missed its surprise reveal earlier today, the Nintendo Switch Oled is an upgraded version of the “base” Nintendo Switch that’s currently scheduled to be released on October 8 for $349.99. As you probably gathered from the name, the console’s headline feature is its new Oled screen which is not only 0.8 inches larger than the base Switch screen but will offer improved picture contrast. The Switch Oled also features expanded internal storage, a new Lan port built into its dock, better speakers, and a wider (and much more versatile) stand.

The biggest week on the gaming calendar is back! E3 has returned after last year’s trade show was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Things are a little different for E3 2021, which won’t have a show floor at the Los Angeles Convention Center like in past years. Instead, the convention will take place completely online as an all-virtual event featuring a whole list of live streams hosted by the industry’s biggest publishers and studios, including Microsoft, Bethesda, Nintendo, Capcom, Bandai Namco, Ubisoft, and Take-Two Interactive. (Sony PlayStation is once again skipping this year’s event.)
E3 2021 will be held from Saturday, June 11 to Tuesday, June 15. The four-day event will be hosted by Alex “Goldenboy” Mendez, Jacki Jing and Greg Miller, and will also feature industry panel discussions as well as celebrity appearances. You can check out a list of E3 panels here.

One of the more notable talking points in the early days of the Xbox Series X vs. PS5 debate has been load times. After all, each console boasts a high-end Ssd that could eventually change the way that developers approach game design and will certainly reduce video game load times in the short-term.
While Microsoft and Sony are both clearly excited by the many ways that SSDs will change console gaming, the PlayStation team has been especially vocal about the PS5’s Ssd as one of the console’s biggest selling points. We’ve spoken before about why the PS5 Ssd is unique and we’ve heard developers theorize that the PS5’s Ssd could eventually force third-party developers to compromise for the comparative limitations of the Xbox Series X.

It’s time at last: the PlayStation 5 is now out in the wild, which means that fans will soon be able to get their true first look at Sony’s next-gen console in action. Media outlets and influencers have started receiving the PS5 for review and already posting pictures of the console’s retail box as well as the packaging for many of the accessories. One YouTuber has even unboxed the new DualSense controller, opened the controller up, and even tried it out…with Microsoft’s xCloud gaming service.
While the PS5’s official launch is still a few weeks away, we’ve compiled what outlets and influencers are saying about the console so far. We should note that most of these early posts pertain specifically to the packaging and what PS5 hardware these outlets are going to be able to try and show off in more detail at a later date.

As if 2020 wasn’t bad enough already, it may also be the most divisive year in the history of American politics. The controversial presidency of Republican incumbent Donald Trump has created great divide in the country, and with the ongoing Covid-19 coronavirus and social justice at the forefront of voters’ minds, things aren’t looking particularly great for him. Meanwhile, this year’s Democratic nominee Joe Biden is up in the polls by a historic margin and even has the support of a significant portion of lifelong Republicans.
Of course, anything is possible, as Trump defied the odds when he won his first term in 2016 against then Democratic nominee Hilary Clinton despite her huge lead in polling. And with the current President spreading fears about this year’s widespread mail-in voting, it’s almost guaranteed to be a stressful election regardless of who wins.

I think it’s a pretty good indicator of how much The Joker has entered into popular culture that he now merits his own Anniversary Special. He’s been pretty popular since the days of the Batman TV show back in the 1960’s of course, though Cesar Romero’s Joker bears little resemblance to today’s. The Joker has gone from being a clownish villain, a villain who uses humour as his calling card, to more often than not a representation of pure anarchy in human form, fighting back against the law and order of society, personified in Batman. I’ve read articles before where we are told to see The Joker as the hero, embracing freedom of thought and action, and Batman has an instrument of control and repression. It’s been nearly two and a half years since Warner Bros. released Justice League in theaters Aka one of the most disappointing superhero movies of all time. DC fans just wouldn’t accept the muddled team-up flick they ended up with though and the result was the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement, which has been very present on social media ever since. Rumors have been brewing for months now, but today it was finally revealed that Zack Snyder is working on his version of the film to be released on HBO Max. And, as you’d imagine, Snyder Cut campaigners are ecstatic over the news.
There’s no doubt about it, this is only happening because of the constant fan demand for WB to share Snyder’s original vision for Justice League, as made clear in the director’s statement.

Poor Superman. While Batman gets the Arkham series of critically acclaimed video games and Spider-Man’s new title is one of the most hotly anticipated Fall releases, he’s still primarily known for Superman 64, one of the most famously terrible games of all-time.
While that’s the nadir, ol’ Supes has never had an interactive outing that properly captured the essence of what it’s like to be the Man of Steel. The common argument is that accurately representing Superman in a game would make for an overly powerful player character. After all, he’s invincible, super strong, can fly at supersonic speeds and has laser and X-ray vision. Just how do you construct a compelling, challenging game around someone like that?

Marvel Games has booked its place at San Diego Comic-Con. And don’t we know all about it.
The video game publisher is bringing its big guns to Hall H on Thursday, July 19th, with Insomniac’s open-world Spider-Man game expected to top the bill. Greg Miller of Kinda Funny will be hosting the panel in two weeks’ time, where fans will seemingly get a glimpse of “many unannounced surprises” from Marvel Games.
Some new gameplay footage of Spider-Man is all but certain, what with Insomniac’s PS4 exclusive slated for release in September, but that Sdcc’s official listing (h/t Cbm) alludes to the fact that “attendees will see exciting sneak peeks of Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel Powers United Vr, and Marvel Battle Lines, with many unannounced surprises and panel exclusives” tells us that Square Enix’s Avengers project may be making an appearance, too.
