Robert Haussmann is the founder of Nanotechniq, Inc., a Los Angeles-based technology firm that specializes in state-of-the-art product and workflow solutions to maximize productivity and efficiency across the creative spectrum. It is Robert's passion to solve the complexities that arise in the integration of new technologies using pre-existing methods and practices. Robert has developed his research through years of direct experience in computer sciences and digital media entertainment, and has lent his working knowledge of media formats and editorial workflow to some of Hollywood's big budget productions. He has consulted for a number of Hollywood studios, bringing his knowledge and results-oriented approach to virtually every aspect of film and digital post production - line production workflow, digital dailies management, online / offline editorial, color correction, asset management, sound design and mixing, studio deliverables preparation, and encoding / authoring for DVD and Blu-ray.
Robert began his career as Chief Art Director for Cheetah Records in the early 1990's. He successfully developed the brand and image for the record label, which at the time was the world's largest independent label for the Miami Bass music genre, and one of the largest independent worldwide labels overall.
Following his success at Cheetah, Robert shifted gears toward the emerging DVD-Video medium and developed, designed and authored the Cartoon Crazys series, which began distribution in 1998. The series continued through 2007, and was one of the first independent DVD releases to be distributed nationwide without major studio support.
Robert continued to lend his technological talents to expanding the capabilities of DVD, designing and authoring several independent DVD releases until 2001, when he started serving as Principal Technology Strategist for the Walt Disney Company's Worldwide Technical Services division in Burbank, California. From 2001 through 2007, Robert spearheaded workflow solutions to improve DVD features and functionality, managed 3rd-party facility quality control, and designed & implemented Walt Disney's very first semi-automated digital menu asset creation laboratory for DVD and Blu-ray. In 2004, he was awarded the patent and title of Primary Inventor for Disney DVD's "Fast Play" technology, a user-friendly, auto-playback workflow for DVD designed to simplify and enhance the viewing experience for families with young children.
Through Nanotechniq, Robert has continued to develop effective workflows and post production & digital intermediate solutions for feature films. He has worked with a variety of studios on major release titles, providing post production and digital intermediate services for clients that include Relativity Media (The Fighter, Mirror Mirror), Sony Pictures (Felon), Lionsgate (Still Waiting...), Heavy Duty Entertainment (Redemption Road), Hyde Park (Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li) and Automatic Entertainment (Avengers of Justice: Farce Wars).
