Natalia Grace’s adoptive mother Cynthia Mans opened up for the first time following the shocking revelations in the second-season finale of The Curious Case of Natalia Grace.
In a recent interview with The U.S. Sun, Cynthia shared that their family are actively working through their issues after claiming to see concerning behavior from their daughter.
“We are absolutely perfect. No, she doesn’t live with us but we are fine,” she told the outlet, adding that Natalia is currently “living with friends,” but they’re still in regular contact following their fallout revealed in the bombshell finale of ID’s docuseries.
Though Cynthia admitted that it has been “rough” since the show aired, she said that “with God, we gonna make it. I am in prayer.”

Matt Roloff wants answers. Like many TV viewers, the Little People, Big World star has been captivated by the story of Natalia Grace, the Ukrainian orphan whose adoptive parents abandoned her after they became convinced she was actually an adult. But unlike many people who tuned in to watch The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: Natalia Speaks, Matt has a more personal take on Natalia’s situation. Both Matt and Natalia have dwarfism, and he wants the judge who agreed to legally change her age from 8 to 22 to be held responsible for his actions.
Who is Natalia Grace?
Natalia’s story first made headlines several years ago, when her adoptive parents, Kristine and Michael Barnett, were charged with neglect after abandoning their daughter. The cast drew renewed attention in 2023, when the docuseries The Curious Case of Natalia Grace aired on ID. The first part of the series focused on Kristine...

The second season of ID’s The Curious Case of Natalia Grace concluded Wednesday night with a surprise ending that left audiences with even more questions about the story of Ukrainian orphan Natalia Grace.
The six-episode series, The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: Natalia Speaks, is a follow-up to the 2023 docuseries that focused on Natalia’s adoptive parents, Kristine and Michael Barnett, and their claim that the child, who’d been diagnosed with the rare dwarfism condition spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita, was actually an adult woman who terrorized their family from 2010 to 2013.
Over the course of the three-night special, Natalia tells her side of the story as she seeks to find answers to questions of her own about her real age and why no one in the Indiana community where she alleges she was in fact victimized by the Barnetts intervened, including Michael, whom she confronts face-to-face for the first time...

It all led up to this: a no-holds-barred confrontation between Natalia Grace and her adoptive father Michael Barnett. After a false start on Monday night, The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: Natalia Speaks delivered in its final two episodes, which saw Natalia and Michael sit down to discuss the alleged abuse she suffered after she was adopted by Michael and his wife Kristine in 2010, when she was six years old. Each entered the conversation with a specific goal in mind — Natalia wanted "a full apology" from Michael and some acknowledgement of his role in her trauma, while Michael sought Natalia's forgiveness, believing it would allow him to put this period of his life behind him and walk away with a clear conscience.

As the title suggests, The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: Natalia Speaks serves as a continuation of Investigation Discovery's true-crime docuseries, which became one of the network's most-viewed shows of all time when it premiered in late May. Natalia's perspective was notably absent from the original series, but in the six-part sequel, she sits for extensive interviews that shed new light on her journey from a Ukrainian orphanage to the Indiana home of Kristine and Michael Barnett, who adopted Natalia in 2010, when she was six years old.
For the first time, Natalia, who has a rare form of dwarfism called spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita, details her experience with the Barnetts, the alleged abuse she suffered under their care, and their successful effort to have her legally re-aged from 8 to 22, at which point they sent her to live alone in apartments that were difficult to navigate due to her limited mobility.
