Steve Nevills graduated from Full Sail University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Film Production. After spending a year as a production assistant in New York, working on national commercials and reality TV, he returned to post education. He earned a Master of Science in business from Full Sail University in 2010. From there, he spent time working in many different facets of production around the country. Some formats included short film, features, news and retail television. Currently, Steve is a Production Manager for the online media publication company Fatherly.
Steve has always had a passion for creative writing and fictional storytelling. In 1994, at the age of 9, he began writing short films with a group of friends. These projects were shot on his family's home video camera and edited by connecting two VCRs together. In 2000, at the age of 14, he wrote his first feature film 'Nonsense'. He continued to pursue both short and long form storytelling throughout his early years by writing countless short stories and screenplays.
After completing his bachelor's degree, he wrote his second feature screenplay 'My Secret Life' (2009) and still has the determination to get the film funded and completed. In 2018 he completed work on his third feature screenplay 'The Swap'. The project was written in an effort to create a script that was capable of being independently produced on a menial budget.
Long form is not the only format Steve has continued to practice. He also completed drafts of short form projects such as a dark thriller 'Sleeping Pills' (2007), horror project 'Caller's Bend' (2008) and comedy 'Pogs' (2010). Although these projects have not been produced, Steve has continued to follow his passion of storytelling throughout his life.
In the fall of 2016, Steve teamed up with his long-time college friend CJ Baker to begin work on the creation of their own video production company. In 2017 they officially started Midnight Playground Productions. With the formation of the new company they have shot and produced several music videos, a spec pilot TV show and much of the principal photography on a feature length documentary.
