Chris Lark, one of the producer's who commissioned Ciara McAvoy to produce concept art for the Captain Britain TV show has finally explained what exactly is happening with the project. Apparently, Lark's production company, Cool Mint Productions, is putting together a highlight reel as part of a pitch to Marvel. Here's what Lark stated, [via Twitter]--- "Ladies & Gentlemen I'm here to confirm that I and my co-prod Eleni Larchanidou are working on a Highlight Reel for a TV series based on the Marvel Comics character #CaptainBritain for 2017. Right now we are in very early stages of development for this idea and working on things like the budget for this Reel to take to Marvel for 2017 with hopes of them helping us with the series. Thank you so much for your interest in #CaptainBritain and expect more news later this year and early in 2017. Thanks so much also to @CiaraMcAvoy1 for her...

This bit of info kind of took me by surprise, but it appears that another big name in the Marvel universe will be getting his own TV show, if you believe the rumors.
Poster artist Ciara McAvoy recently sent out tweet that dropped an information bombshell:
For my 1000th Tweet: Who will be playing Brian Braddock in the upcoming tv series #CaptainBritain?#Marvel Stay tune! pic.twitter.com/e0gbXKjdav
— Ciara McAvoy (@CiaraMcAvoy1) March 19, 2016
Followed by this one:
I can't reveal anything yet but hopefully I'll be able to soon. Waiting for the go ahead from the co-producer
— Ciara McAvoy (@CiaraMcAvoy1) March 22, 2016
She sounds pretty confident in her info, and if she is to be believed, Marvel is looking to expand their television properties in an awesome way.
Captain Britain, aka Brian Braddock, is one of my favorite characters in the Marvel Universe. He was originally intended to be Captain America’s British equivalent.

Yesterday, poster artist Ciara McAvoy sent out a Tweet indicating that Marvel are in the process of casting Captain Britain for a new TV show. Created in 1976, the character is far from one of the comic book publisher’s most popular heroes, but a live-action adaptation has the potential to be pretty interesting.
After all, his origin story is tied into the mythology surrounding Merlin and his powers let him travel between alternate dimensions. As a result, he would make for an exciting new addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (though, as the brother of X-Men member Psylocke, it’s unclear whether he may have been sold to Fox as part of those rights).

Sadly, as fun as Captain Britain has the potential to be, the show is not happening. Despite McAvoy’s claims, TV Line states that, “well-placed sources” assure them “that the rumor is not true.

Yesterday, a Tweet sent out by poster artist Ciara McAvoy seemed to reveal that Marvel (or Fox depending on whether or not Captain Britain was lumped in with the X-Men rights; he does after all have ties to those characters) are developing a TV series featuring one of the UK's few superheroes. Taking into account all of the mythological aspects of the character's history and the fact that he's been known to travel between dimensions as part of the Captain Britain Corps, there's no denying that this is an adaptation which has a ton of potential. There's just one problem. It's not happening! According to TV Line, "Well-placed sources, however, assure TVLine that the rumor is 'not true.'" This isn't the first time we've seen a denial like this of course, but as much as I'd like to see Captain Britain on the big or small screen, it's hard...

It sounds like Marvel's Captain Britain might be heading to the small screen, based on a recent tweet by Ciara McAvoy, a movie poster artist. At this point it's a given that after the success of Daredevil and Jessica Jones, Marvel has some more TV series in the pipeline that we haven't heard about yet. There have been rumors of Moon Knight, a solo Punisher series and more - but could Captain Britain be among them? The following Tweet from poster artist Ciara McAvoy (via McU Exchange) certainly suggests as much. Obviously that's not a whole lot top go on, but when quizzed about the Tweet here's what McAvoy had to say: "I am being paid to do the promo poster so yes I’d say this is really happening. It might take a while before the announcement (either early 2017 or late 2016) They’re making a sizzle reel and it’s gonna be awesome. I can’t reveal anything yet but hopefully I’ll be able to soon. Influenced by legendary names in the movie poster trade such as Amsel, Drew Struzan, John Alvin, the brothers Hildebrandt, and Tom Jung, artist Ciara McAvoy works almost exclusively in oils for her much sought-after movie posters. However, she has built a broad repertoire of skills in other media (acrylic, watercolor, graphite, charcoal, and pastels) as well as storyboarding, animation, character design, and matte painting. She studied at L'École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, where she obtained her Diplôme Supérieur d'Art Plastique (D.S.A.P). Later, she expanded her artistic skill set to include costume design and historical fashion, which now play an integral supporting role in her posters and illustrations. She describes her modus operandi as “photorealism applied to movie posters.”
Her most recent work is the poster for Paul McGuigan’s Victor Frankenstein, set for release in November. The trailer for the film, which...

Sweet Painting Lady: Ciara McAvoy Resurrects the Art of the Movie Poster
By Alex Simon
“Art is not just a part of my life. It Is my life. It gives me breath. We are eternally entwined.” This is the mantra of Scottish artist Ciara McAvoy, a painter renowned for her stunning oil work, which the Glasgow-born artist has used to create some of the most iconic movie posters in modern times. Inspired by her French grandfather, a pre-ww II portraitist who gained fame at Montmartre, McAvoy’s interest in drawing and painting film-related subjects began after her first viewing of Star Wars as a child.
“I started drawing at eight and painted and sold my first oil, entitled Cops, when I was only twelve years old, so I guess I can say that I was born to be an artist," McAvoy recalled in a 2014 interview with David Bateman of Stv Glasgow.
