Brad Pitt is known for his work in an array of films, which has established him as one of the best and most high-profile film actors of this generation. From dramas to high-octane action films, he has done it all. With films like Fight Club, Se7en, Fury, Ocean’s film series, and many more. Despite having so many blockbuster titles under his belt, he lacks one film that was portrayed by Glen Powell, which he could have portrayed decades ago.

Hollywood heartthrob Glen Powell and Puerto Rican actress Adria Arjona recently collaborated on their first movie together: A comedy-action masterpiece titled Hit Man. And, unarguably enough, the duo share some undeniable chemistry onscreen that has fans swooning in commendation. In fact, even the intimate scenes they shot together look as though they were real.

But that’s hardly the case when you get to know the behind-the-scenes fiasco, especially for those particular intimate scenes. Why? Well, because what these two fan-favorite actors had to go through just to shoot those scenes must have been nothing short of hell, considering how they were in “so much pain;” learning about which would change your thoughts on those scenes being sexy at all.

With the box office being in dire straits, I feel a little awkward telling you to stay home and watch stuff on Netflix. Anyway, stay home and watch stuff on Netflix!
All kidding aside, summer is bearing down upon us, and that means unbearable, scorching hot temperatures. (Thanks global warming!) So, what better way to burn though your free time than by plopping yourself down in an air-conditioned theater and checking out the latest releases? After a relatively slow start to the year, June looks to turn things up a notch with some notable tentpoles. Tragically, however, you can't spend all of your non-working hours at the multiplex -- not even for the "Lord of the Rings" re-release.

"What's better than this? Glen Powell wearing a bunch of goofy wigs?" That seems to be the question at the heart of "Hit Man," Richard Linklater's extremely breezy comedy about a guy who pretends to murder people. Based on a true story, "Hit Man" coasts on Powell's good looks and charm. With his square jaw and affable manner, it's easy to like Powell, and watching his recent rise to stardom has been fun. Here, he gets his juiciest role to date, and the fact that Powell co-wrote the script with Linklater seems to suggest this is him seizing his big moment; his chance to show the world what he can do. "Not only am I a handsome leading man," Powell is ready to proclaim here, "but I can also do silly voices!" It's fun, it's charming, it's a little too slight for its own good. By the time the end credits rolled,...

Adria Arjona and Glen Powell may have some very steamy scenes in “Hit Man,” but filming them was anything but sexy.
It all went wrong when they were shooting in a bathtub and someone added Dawn dish washing soap to the water. “That strips you of all your oils of your skin,” Arjona says on this week’s episode of the “Just for Variety” podcast. “That’s used for baby ducks when there’s an oil spill for God’s sake. We soaked in this bathtub for an hour and I get out of the tub and all of a sudden I dry myself and I can’t bend my knees because I have no oils.”

In the new Netflix film Hit Man, Glen Powell plays Gary Johnson, a mild-mannered college professor who has a mind for electronics. He occasionally helps out the local police department by recording sting operations on people trying to hire a hitman. When he’s forced into pretending to be one, he finds that he’s got quite a knack for it.
When he meets a young woman named Madison (Adria Arjona) who tries to hire his hit man alter ego, it sets up a series of events that will put lives in danger. Directed by Richard Linklater and written by Linklater and Powell, Hit Man is based on the Texas Monthly article by Skip Hollandsworth about a real-life person who had a similar double life.

It’s taken a while for Glen Powell to truly step into the spotlight. After popping up in the likes of Hidden Figures, Set It Up and Everybody Wants Some!! (the last his first collaboration with Richard Linklater), it was 2022’s Top Gun: Maverick that saw him really take flight, giving an unforgettably hissable-yet-heroic performance as Lt Jake ‘Hangman’ Seresin. Major turns have come since — box-office-busting romcom Anyone But You and another aviation adventure, Devotion — but it is with Hit Man that Powell announces himself as a movie star and a filmmaking force to be reckoned with.
Inspired by the true story of teacher-turned-pretend-assassin Gary Johnson (as reported by journalist Skip Hollandsworth in a 2001 article for Texas Monthly), Hit Man sees Powell re-team with Linklater, this time on a deeper creative level as co-writer. And this trick has something to do with how he and Sydney Sweeney boosted their sleeper hit together from December last year.

Director Richard Linklater rues that Hollywood has taken to creating sexless characters and superheroes without genitalia.

Glen Powell might just be a perfect man — at least, that’s how his former castmates and collaborators describe the Top Gun: Maverick actor.
Powell received lavish praise while attending his Texas Hall of Fame induction hosted by the Austin Film Society on Thursday night, an event timed to the upcoming release of the actor’s Netflix movie Hit Man, which reunites Powell and his Everybody Wants Some!! writer-director Richard Linklater.
The event at Robert Rodriguez’s Troublemaker Studios included speeches from Rodriguez (who first cast Powell in Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over), Linklater, Tom Cruise (previously taped) and his Hit Man co-stars Adria Arjona, Retta and Sanjay Rao.

Glen Powell remained the king of grassroots publicity at an Austin, Texas, screening of his new Netflix movie, Richard Linklater’s “Hit Man.” The leading man hit the red carpet at the event accompanied by his family, but his mother and father decided to troll their son with signs directed at the press line that read: “Stop trying to make Glen Powell happen” and “It’s never gonna happen.”
It appears Powell’s parents have been paying attention to all the press attention their son has been getting over the last few years. Every time Powell appears in a movie, be it Netflix’s “Set It Up” or Tom Cruise’s blockbuster “Top: Gun Maverick” or Sony’s rom-com “Anyone But You” with Sydney Sweeney, the press can’t help but say he’s got bona fide star power and is the next big thing. The Hit Man star takes aim as her career levels up
Adria Arjona knows just how scary it can be to meet your heroes. One of her all-time favourite movies is School Of Rock, and when she first met Richard Linklater, not even the relative safety of a Zoom call could save her. “My hands were sweaty,” she admits to Empire. “I was really trying to play it cool and that lasted for about ten minutes.”
After a series of supporting turns in genre fare, crime dramas (True Detective), and recently as the forthright Bix in Andor, the 31-year-old actor is stepping into fresh territory with Linklater’s romcom HitMan. Alongside Glen Powell, she stars as Madison, a housewife with a controlling husband who falls for the contract killer (Powell) she hires to take him out. The only problem: her new boyfriend is actually working undercover for the police as a fake hitman.

Plot: A mild-mannered psychology professor (Glen Powell) interested in electronics takes a sideline bugging undercover cops in sting operations, specializing in setting up phony hits. When the usual undercover guy is suspended, he’s enlisted to pose as a hitman. He turns out to be a natural at undercover work, with the police using him to entrap people taking out contracts. Things get complicated when he falls for an abused wife (Adria Arjona) wanting to take out her husband.
Review: Richard Linklater’s Hit Man is the movie where Glen Powell finally becomes a legit star. Granted, there was little to no doubt remaining in anyone’s head after his breakout turn in Top Gun: Maverick, but in Hit Man, his charisma is so white hot and old-school in that true movie star way that he should rocket to the top of everyone’s young leading man list. Fake identities, false pretenses, and romance under potentially deadly (and illegal) circumstances, Netflix's upcoming release is going to be a good one, and it's already got the ratings to prove it.
Inspired by the true story of a real, fake hitman
Adapted from an unbelievable true story, this action-comedy chronicles the chaotic undercover life of Gary Johnson, a soft-spoken, geeky professor who takes on multiple hitman identities to help the police catch those who try to hire him. Glen Powell brings the character and his many alter egos to life in a hilarious and entertaining way, leading the story as the unassuming undercover hero until he meets his match.
They say you should never mix your business and personal lives, and the two become uncontrollably blurred when Johnson begins to fall for Adria Arjona's character, who seeks his fake services in Hit Man.

In what will surely come as a huge shock to the general public and cause no small number of monocles to pop out, Amazon MGM Studios has elected to retitle Zoë Kravitz's feature directing debut, which was previously going under the not-at-all provocative moniker "Pussy Island." Kravitz's film will instead be released as "Blink Twice," which for me conjures memories of David Tennant's 10th Doctor desperately warning Carey Mulligan not to blink around the Weeping Angels in the classic modern "Doctor Who" episode "Blink."
That association isn't entirely inappropriate, either. "Blink Twice," like "Blink," is a potpourri of horror, mystery-thriller, and humor with an English actor at its core. In this case, it's Naomi Ackie of "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker," "Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody," and "Master of None" season 3 fame starring as a young woman who accompanies a tech billionaire -- played by Kravitz's current real-life significant other,...

By now, movies should surely have taught us all that going to remote tropical paradises with mysterious billionaires should be right up there on the travel danger list with, say, flying Ryanair. Yet still people keep accepting those invitations. And we suppose when the person doing the asking is Channing Tatum in full Chanrisma mode, it's hard to turn it down, but Naomi Ackie finds that out to her cost in the first trailer for Blink Twice, which you can find below…
With Zoë Kravitz making her directorial debut here, the film finds Ackie as cocktail waitress Frida, who meets tech billionaire Slater King (Tatum). There's an instant connection and soon he's whisking her and her best pal Jess (Alia Shawkat) away to his private island to party with his loopy trustafarian friends.
Initially, it all seems wonderful — sun soaked days, party-filled nights. But then strange things start to happen.

Look no further than the first trailer for Zoë Kravitz’s Blink Twice, which boasts a stronger ensemble than your average directing debut: Channing Tatum, Simon Rex, Adria Arjona, Haley Joel Osment, Alia Shawkat, Christian Slater, Geena Davis, and a last-second appearance from Kyle MacLachlan. The cast is led by Naomi Ackie, and ahead of an August 23 release there’s a first, LCD Soundsystem-punctuated trailer that suggests she did well hiring Adam Newport-Berra.
Here’s the official synopsis: “When tech billionaire Slater King (Tatum) meets cocktail waitress Frida (Ackie) at his fundraising gala, sparks fly. He invites her to join him and his friends on a dream vacation on his private island. It’s paradise. Wild nights blend into sun soaked days and everyone’s having a great time. No one wants this trip to end, but as strange things start to happen, Frida begins to question her reality.
