Steve Colledge
- Writer
- Assistant
- Manager
Steve Colledge was born in Nottingham in the seventies and growing up on a large council estate surrounded him with real life stories of poverty, bullying, the working class and personal experiences that some may find mentally challenging.
Due to his need for glasses from an early age, Steve was always the easy target for bullies, and without the physique to defend himself, he discovered from an early age that comedy was the way to defend himself from those bigger and stronger than him.
By making people laugh at the expense of the bully, somehow made the bully appear smaller and often defeated without any physical altercation.
Having moved away from Nottingham after following a career in entertainment, Steve quickly changed his use of comedy from a weapon to belittle the thugs, to generalizations and observations which people could relate to.
He had his major break when touring as a technician with Jim Tavare, and writing for The Sketch Show which Jim was appearing in, both as an actor and also a writer.
Steve has toured with many comedians and has worked at The Comedy Store, Jongleurs and the world renowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival, providing technical , tour management and writing skills for many of today's big names.
