Writer-Director Sprott Woods was born in Murrieta, California. During his early youth, Sprott frequented film sets like Frasier (1993), HBO's Carnivàle (2003), and American Wedding (2003). He began writing screenplays at 13, directed some short films and a one-act play at the local college before graduating high school to attend USC Film. He writes comedies and thrillers
Sprott's grandfather Blythe, who went by the stage name Dan Edwards, hosted The Cactus Dan Show in Detroit, Michigan from 1953-1958 on WWJ-TV. Blythe later received his Ph.D. and became a professor for Cal State LA.
