Book adaptations have given us some of the most beloved movies and TV shows of all time, and the Amazon Prime Video series "Daisy Jones & The Six" has become just that for many of its fans. The show is based on the hit novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid, which follows the titular rock band, a fictional group inspired by some of music's icons. The series released its final season one episodes on March 24, and readers will probably be surprised by how much the show has changed from the book that inspired it. The main story is still intact, following the rise and fall of Billy Dunne (Sam Claflin), Daisy Jones (Riley Keough), Camila Dunne (Camila Morrone), Graham Dunne (Will Harrison), Karen Sirko (Suki Waterhouse), and company. But there are big differences to how they get to the top, how things fall apart, and where they end up landing. Reid...

Daisy Jones & the Six is a new series airing on Amazon Prime Video. The 1970s soft rock mockumentary presents the titular band as if they were a real Fleetwood Mac-esque project. And yes, that means the series is stacked with all the nearly unbelievable romantic drama that comparison entails.
But not all of Daisy Jones is simply a retelling of the creation of an album like Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours. There’s an original story weaved around that inspiration, pulling from other famous musicians from the era. Actor Sebastian Chacon adds to the color of the series by taking his inspiration from a genre outside of rock entirely.

Sam Claflin is the first to admit that when he got the part of Billy Dunne, the co-lead singer of a world-famous 1970s rock band in ”Daisy Jones & the Six”, he was no musician.
Claflin was the last person cast. His co-stars had already begun rehearsing at a band camp where the actors learned to play their designated instruments and perform original songs written for the show.
“They said, ‘Ok, there’s about 15 songs you’re going to need to learn. Oh, and can you play guitar?’” Claflin recounted. “I didn’t play guitar and I barely had sung. I never recorded anything. It was quite an immediate shock of terror and fear and pressure.”

Amazon Prime Video's miniseries "Daisy Jones & The Six" is already one of the most-anticipated TV shows of the year, not to mention one of the buzziest book-to-screen adaptations. Based on a bestselling novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid, the book traces the evolution of a fictional 1970s rock band (loosely based on Fleetwood Mac) from their earliest beginnings to their meteoric rise and all the drama along the way.
Like any adaptation, the TV version could veer a little bit - or a lot - from the book's storyline, of course. But if you're curious about what to expect before pressing play, we've got a full, spoiler-packed summary of the book right here.
"Behind the Music" Framing Device
"Daisy Jones & The Six" is framed as a transcript of a behind-the-scenes oral history, similar to MTV's iconic "Behind the Music" docuseries. The focus of the fictional documentary is a...

Based on Taylor Jenkins Reid's bestselling novel of the same name, Daisy Jones & The Six follows the roots and rise of a '70s band.
It's clearly an homage to Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham's tumultuous relationship, with Riley Keough and Sam Claflin playing their roles as Margaret "Daisy" Jones and Billy Dunne.
But aside from the musical influence and romantic entanglements and the era, Daisy Jones & The Six is an original, well-plotted story that has all the features of a rock documentary, including catchy music that will stay with you once the series ends.
Billy Dunne and his brother Graham (Will Harrison) start a band called The Dunne Brothers in their hometown of Pittsburgh with their best friends Eddie Roundtree (Josh Whitehouse) and Warren Rhodes (Sebastian Chacon).
Through a chance encounter with a tour manager played by Timothy Olyphant, the four young men yearn...
