It was the steal that stole the show.
Usher was the only coach to have an unused steal heading into the final night of the round 1 battles on The Voice Tuesday, and he used it to maximum dramatic effect in the final moments of the show.
The Grammy-winning singer pressed his button at the last possible moment to save Alaskan powerhouse Cierra Mickens, who began to walk off the stage in defeat after losing to Idaho session singer Emily B.
The two women delivered a flawed but fierce version of Sara Bareilles's "Brave" that left coach Shakira with a difficult decision.

The Voice battle rounds continued with Usher using his last steal to take Cierra Mickens from Team Shakira.
First to find out their fate were Cary Laine and Sam Behymer from Team Adam Levine. Cary and Sam were tasked with performing “Give Me Love” by Ed Sheeran, and both sang well, separately and together. Adam ends up picking Sam as the winner, saying that he likes the quirks in her voice and can see her giving more special performances in the future.
Kaleigh Glanton and Noah Lis from Team Blake Shelton performed Michael Bublé’s “Everything.” Noah got some tough love during rehearsals from Blake, who thought Noah was completely off in his delivery of the song. Usher felt that Noah’s performance was a bit too showy, but still threw his vote behind Noah, and Carson Daly called the battle “polite.” Blake decided to keep Kaleigh Glanton, sending Noah home.

After a plodding first 45 minutes, Tuesday's episode of "The Voice" will only be remembered for its final moments. Usher jumped in to steal the woman who might be the best artist in the entire competition. The sixth battle of the night featured Emily B. versus Cierra Mickens. They performed the Sara Bareilles hit tune "Brave." Emily certainly gave it her all, and her coach Shakira chose her as the winner. Between her original audition and this effort, Mickens has proven to be one of the most powerful and formidable competitors for this season. It was no surprise that Usher pushed his button and saved her for his team. -Break- Related: Adam, Blake and Shakira run out of steals on Monday's 'The Voice' That wraps up all the steals for this 2014 season. Time to finish up the final battles of Round 1 on "The Voice" Season 6, with Usher as the only judge with a steal to use.
Battle 1: Cary Laine vs. Sam Behymer (Team Adam)
Song: "Give Me Love" by Ed Sheeran
Sam's voice better for this song, Cary would have been more suited to a country song, maybe, but they both have a couple pitch issues here and there. The part where they sing together in harmony is nice, but this was not the most outstanding battle. Neither biffed it, but neither really shined brightly either. We would pick Sam but that's only a matter of taste, this one really is a toss-up.
Winner: Adam chooses Sam and Usher does not steal Cary, which is not a huge surprise.
Battle 2: Noah Lis vs. Kaleigh Glanton (Team Blake)
Song: "Everything" by Michael Buble
This should be right in Noah's wheelhouse as a jazz singer,...

The Voice finally began the competition portion of the show with the first episode of Battle Rounds, with Shakira stealing Patrick Thomson and Adam Levine stealing Jake Barker.
Coaches Usher and Blake Shelton both had two battles on Monday night, meaning they let go of two of their artists, and Adam and Shakira only let go of one each.
First up in Team Usher were Biff Gore and Tj Wilkins. The R&B singers battled with The Temptations’ classic “Ain’t Too Proud To Beg,” and Usher instructs them to try to sing their hearts out to beg for Shakira’s attention. Both men went into the ring with their A game, dancing and delivering well-rounded entertainment. In the end, Usher decided to keep Tj on his team, leaving Biff free to steal or free to go home. Lucky for him, Blake pushed his button, using his first steal of...

The Voice wrapped up the blind auditions, with each coach rounding out their teams with standouts like Brittnee Camelle and Caleb Elder.
At the beginning of the final blind auditions episode, judges Shakira, Usher, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton had 11 team members each, with one spot left.
Joe Trombino, 33, was first up on The Voice stage, singing “Love and Happiness” by Al Green. A dancer – he studied at the famous Laguardia High School – Trombino tried to dazzle with his decent vocals and fun dance moves, but the judges, unable to see his performance, failed to be impressed by his vocals alone and nobody turned their chair for him.
Kaleigh Glanton, 20, had much more luck, getting the four-chair turn-around with her audition of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Have You Ever Seen The Rain.” Glanton is a classic guitarist, who likes to sing and play with her father. She’s also very intense about her CrossFit workouts,...

First up was Kat Perkins, 33, a cowgirl from a small town who has transformed from country crooner to rocker chic. Kat auditioned with Fleetwood Mac’s “Gold Dust Woman,” earning her a three-chair turn-around and standing ovation courtesy of Usher, Shakira and Adam. Kat performed with a slow burn, building up her voice until the end, when she finally got Adam and Shakira to turn. In the end, Adam won...
