After last night's final performances, Team Usher's Josh Kaufman was declared the winner of season 6 of The Voice, beating out Team Adam Levine's Christina Grimmie and Team Blake Shelton's Jake Worthington.
At the top of the show, Carson Daly announced that there was a glitch with the iTunes charts. Noticably missing from the Top 10 yesterday was Josh Kaufman’s cover of Adele’s “Set Fire to the Rain.” To ensure fairness, all of the iTunes downloads that were supposed to count as votes for the finalists were taken out of the final tally – meaning only online voting, calls, etc. counted as votes. According to Carson, taking the iTunes downloads out of the final tally did not affect the outcome. In other news, Adam publicly announced that he would sign Christina Grimmie to his record label after the show.

The Voice's top 12 performed in the first live episode of the season, with Josh Kaufman delivering a scene stealing performance and Kristen Merlin singing through a microphone malfunction.
Top 12 Perform Live
Bria Kelly from Team Usher started it off with Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep” with a little rock twist. For those who have waited until the live rounds to begin watching, Bria made a splash last week, with all the coaches declaring her the one to beat. Her vocals and her rocker rasp are all favorites of the judges. Her take on “Rolling In The Deep” was different enough from Adele’s that she didn’t have to live up to the all around adored singer. The only downside to the performance was her guitar, which she carried around for the entire performance and only played it for the last few bars. It looked more like a prop than anything else,...

Usher picked his top three to move on to the live shows in the final episode of the Playoffs on The Voice.
Tj Wilkins was up first, singing “Tell Me Somethin’ Good” by Chaka Khan & Rufus. Tj is a soul singer to his core, and the song shows off his strengths. Adam Levine compliments Tj for his ability to entertain, even while giving a somewhat subdued performance, and Shakira notes that the high note he hit at the end was the perfect trick to finish off the performance.
Melissa Jimenez decided to sing “Halo” by Beyoncé, a song choice that is certainly a risk for Melissa. In rehearsals, Melissa says she wants to “strip down” the track, hoping to let her vocals shine. Unfortunately for Melissa, she doesn’t have the power that Beyoncé has, though she nails the high notes towards the end of her performance. Adam and Shakira...

The Voice coaches Shakira and Adam Levine had to eliminate two members of their own teams to narrow down their contestants to a top three in this week’s Playoff rounds.
Team Shakira: Dani Moz, Tess Boyer, Kristen Merlin
Kristen Merlin, who has had minimal screen time so far, started things off strongly with the country rock song “Two Black Cadillacs.” Adam and country authority Blake Shelton declare Kristen a force to be reckoned with, and Blake praises her country prowess, saying it was as good as any live performance could be.
Deja Hall, one of the youngest contestants of the season, decided to sing “Battlefield” by Jordin Sparks. Hall is solid, and the coaches applaud her for her increased confidence onstage, but her performance fails to inspire any gushing.
Next up, former NFL cheerleader Tess Boyer performed Christina Perri’s “Human.” Tess blew the coaches away with her strong performance,...

Blake Shelton typically exudes coolness under pressure. But The Voice coach admitted he wasn't feeling so self-assured Tuesday night as he was forced to send home two singers on the first night of the playoff rounds. The country star found himself in the hot seat as he had to make the "toughest decision in six seasons" on the show. Philadelphia college student Audra McLaughlin kicked things off with a powerful version of "A Broken Wing" by Martina McBride. "From the moment you introduced yourself to the world we all recognized you had a very powerful voice," Usher said. "It's almost...

Blake Shelton narrowed his team down to the top 3 artists who will perform in the live rounds of The Voice: Audra McLaughlin, Sisaundra Lewis and Jake Worthington.
The Voice finally reached the Playoffs after weeks of Blind Auditions. As Carson Daly explained at the beginning of the episode, during the Playoffs each artist will get to choose their song to perform for their coaches in the hopes of making it to the live rounds, where their fates will no longer be decided by their coaches but by American voters.
Audra McLaughlin was first up, singing Martina McBride’s “A Broken Wing.” The judges loved her performance, and Adam Levine even admitted she could be one to beat, calling her “spectacular.”
Following Audra’s powerhouse performance was Ryan Whyte Maloney, taking on Shinedown’s “Second Chance.” Usher gives Ryan encouraging feedback, comparing him to Adam Levine. Shakira is a little less enthusiastic,...

For the first night of the playoffs on "The Voice," Blake Shelton was the only one of the four coaches to showcase his team. And he was forced to boot out two of his five remaining artists Tuesday. There are now no more duo battles or saving steals from the coaches. It is strictly solo performances designed to impress their own coach. -Break- Audra McLaughlin began the evening with a rousing version of the Martina McBride country hit "A Broken Wing." Next up, Ryan Whyte Maloney rocked the crowd with Shinedown's "Second Chance." Zedd's "Clarity" was the song selection of Madilyn Paige, who was stolen by Shelton just the night before to join his team. Jake Worthington even impressed the other coaches with his country foot-stomper "Anywhere With You" by Jake Owen. And finally, Sisaundra Lewis was the overwhelming favorite of everybody with the Billy Joel classic "New Yo...

If you’ve stuck with the sixth season of The Voice, you may be incredibly relieved to know that we’ve finally arrived at the Top 20, narrowing down some less-than-stellar talent to the best of the best. Or, most of the best. In truth, there are still some stragglers who have yet to prove themselves, but the playoff rounds (beginning April 8) should weed out the less impressive folks and leave us with a pretty nifty Top 12, worthy of performing in front of the voting public.
Before the next round begins, here’s the breakdown for this season’s first power list.

The final night of the battle rounds concluded Monday on season 6 of The Voice with some artists stepping out of their comfort zones to show off different sides of their vocal personalities. Florida bartender Jake Barker, 28, showed off a formidable falsetto as he took on Usher's "Climax" in a sexy duet with Georgia's Brittnee Camelle, 23. The singers turned up the heat for Adam Levine, who had stolen both artists from Usher. "I really didn't expect that from you," Shakira said of Barker's trills and runs. Levine agreed, noting Barker's inexperience. "It kind of blows me away," he said as he picked Barker.

The Voice season 6 was finally narrowed down to the top 20 on Monday night, with the last night of the second round of battles, and marking the end of the pre-recorded performances.
'The Voice' Recap: Final Battles Of Season 6
To kick it off, Clarissa Serna and Dani Moz of Team Shakira had to battle it out with either “Perfect” by Pink, “The Edge of Glory” by Lady Gaga or Kelly Clarkson’s “Catch My Breath.” The girls go with “Perfect,” and, though they appear evenly matched in rehearsals, during the battle Dani steals the spotlight. The judges are pretty unanimous in their support of Dani, and Shakira sent Clarissa home.
Team Adam Levine members Dawn & Hawkes were next, battling it out against Kat Perkins with KT Turnstall’s “Suddenly I See.” It’s tough for Kat to go up against a duo, especially with such an underwhelming battle song.

Time to finish up the final battles of Round 1 on "The Voice" Season 6, with Usher as the only judge with a steal to use.
Battle 1: Cary Laine vs. Sam Behymer (Team Adam)
Song: "Give Me Love" by Ed Sheeran
Sam's voice better for this song, Cary would have been more suited to a country song, maybe, but they both have a couple pitch issues here and there. The part where they sing together in harmony is nice, but this was not the most outstanding battle. Neither biffed it, but neither really shined brightly either. We would pick Sam but that's only a matter of taste, this one really is a toss-up.
Winner: Adam chooses Sam and Usher does not steal Cary, which is not a huge surprise.
Battle 2: Noah Lis vs. Kaleigh Glanton (Team Blake)
Song: "Everything" by Michael Buble
This should be right in Noah's wheelhouse as a jazz singer,...

Blake Shelton used up his last steal to snag Tess Boyer from Team Usher, and Madilyn Paige and Tanner James performed a sweet duet in the third part of the battle rounds of The Voice.
The third night of battle rounds began with Team Adam Levine's Austin Ellis and Josh Kaufman singing Pharrell’s Oscar-winning song “Happy.” The singers both delivered, and seemed to genuinely enjoy performing together. Blake goes for Josh, but Usher and Shakira are more hesitant to call a winner. Usher said that, while he thinks Josh won the battle, Austin is a “caged beast.” In the end, Adam Levine went with Josh, and Austin went home.
Blake Shelton was the next coach to find himself in the hot seat. He paired country duo Alaska & Madi against Audra McLaughlin. The country crooners sung Linda Ronstadt’s “When Will I Be Loved” and Alaska & Madi brought the...

Battle 1: Austin Ellis vs. Josh Kaufman (Team Levine)
Song: "Happy" by Pharrell
Both men sound nice on this song, but it seems to suit Austin's voice just a little more, at least at the beginning. He just sounds richer than Josh, though Josh does loosen up as the song goes on, plus his falsetto is nice and he handles the high harmony with aplomb. It's a tough one and a great battle to kick off the episode. We were Team Austin at first, but by the end, we were Team Josh, so it's a hard choice. But...
