After last night's final performances, Team Usher's Josh Kaufman was declared the winner of season 6 of The Voice, beating out Team Adam Levine's Christina Grimmie and Team Blake Shelton's Jake Worthington.
At the top of the show, Carson Daly announced that there was a glitch with the iTunes charts. Noticably missing from the Top 10 yesterday was Josh Kaufman’s cover of Adele’s “Set Fire to the Rain.” To ensure fairness, all of the iTunes downloads that were supposed to count as votes for the finalists were taken out of the final tally – meaning only online voting, calls, etc. counted as votes. According to Carson, taking the iTunes downloads out of the final tally did not affect the outcome. In other news, Adam publicly announced that he would sign Christina Grimmie to his record label after the show.

It takes a lot of musical skill to draw Usher's envy, but South Carolina artist Delvin Choice did just that Monday as the second night of playoff rounds continued on The Voice.
Singing Al Green's soul classic "Let's Stay Together," Choice showed range and ease as the Team Adam singer effortlessly performed shimmering vocal runs, turning up the heat for his competitors in a major way.
"I am jealous," Usher, himself a master of the falsetto, said of Choice, who auditioned in season 5 but failed to turn any chairs. This time, however, Choice was back with force, creating a...

Being a male singer on Monday's two hours of "The Voice" playoffs was not a good thing. Only one man survived out of the 10 performances featured. That fact doesn't only apply to the competitors. Shakira's team of five was much better across the board than the one put forth by coach Adam Levine. -Break- Subscribe to Gold Derby's YouTube Channel The first hour of Monday's show was completely devoted to Shakira's remaining contenders. Kristen Merlin opened the program with a rowdy rendition of Carrie Underwood's "Two Black Cadillacs." Up next was Deja Hall with her stirring "Battlefield" from Jordin Sparks. "Human" by Christina Perri was the song selection for Tess Boyer. The fourth performance was from Patrick Thomson, who sang "Trouble" by Ray Lamontagne. And finally, Dani Moz even got a standing ovation from her coach with the Lady Gaga tune &...

The Voice coaches Shakira and Adam Levine had to eliminate two members of their own teams to narrow down their contestants to a top three in this week’s Playoff rounds.
Team Shakira: Dani Moz, Tess Boyer, Kristen Merlin
Kristen Merlin, who has had minimal screen time so far, started things off strongly with the country rock song “Two Black Cadillacs.” Adam and country authority Blake Shelton declare Kristen a force to be reckoned with, and Blake praises her country prowess, saying it was as good as any live performance could be.
Deja Hall, one of the youngest contestants of the season, decided to sing “Battlefield” by Jordin Sparks. Hall is solid, and the coaches applaud her for her increased confidence onstage, but her performance fails to inspire any gushing.
Next up, former NFL cheerleader Tess Boyer performed Christina Perri’s “Human.” Tess blew the coaches away with her strong performance,...

If you’ve stuck with the sixth season of The Voice, you may be incredibly relieved to know that we’ve finally arrived at the Top 20, narrowing down some less-than-stellar talent to the best of the best. Or, most of the best. In truth, there are still some stragglers who have yet to prove themselves, but the playoff rounds (beginning April 8) should weed out the less impressive folks and leave us with a pretty nifty Top 12, worthy of performing in front of the voting public.
Before the next round begins, here’s the breakdown for this season’s first power list.

The Voice season 6 was finally narrowed down to the top 20 on Monday night, with the last night of the second round of battles, and marking the end of the pre-recorded performances.
'The Voice' Recap: Final Battles Of Season 6
To kick it off, Clarissa Serna and Dani Moz of Team Shakira had to battle it out with either “Perfect” by Pink, “The Edge of Glory” by Lady Gaga or Kelly Clarkson’s “Catch My Breath.” The girls go with “Perfect,” and, though they appear evenly matched in rehearsals, during the battle Dani steals the spotlight. The judges are pretty unanimous in their support of Dani, and Shakira sent Clarissa home.
Team Adam Levine members Dawn & Hawkes were next, battling it out against Kat Perkins with KT Turnstall’s “Suddenly I See.” It’s tough for Kat to go up against a duo, especially with such an underwhelming battle song.

She might be from another galaxy, but Team Blake's Sisaundra Lewis proved she's got the "sick, sick, sick" talent to earn her an extended stay.
The Voice's second round of battles continued Tuesday with a masterful performance by Lewis, a former vocal director for Céline Dion (yes, really), and Biff Gore, a father of six coach Blake Shelton stole from Team Usher.
The duo's showstopping rendition of James Brown's "It's a Man's, Man's, Man's World" brought all four coaches to their feet – and they became effusive with their praise.

The second round of battles for NBC's "The Voice" delivered fierce performances from the remaining competitors. For this week's Monday and Tuesday shows, some even surprised the coaches with new-found range and ability. Chris Martin of popular rock/pop band Coldplay joined the regular all-star lineup of Adam Levine, Shakira, Blake Shelton, and Usher as a special advisor to the contenders. He mainly offered suggestions for better on-stage presence and movements to wow the audience. -Break- The best showdown of this week was "one in a trillion" vocalist Sisaundra Lewis defeating Biff Gore for Team Blake. They performed the James Brown classic "It's a Man's Man's Man's World" Tuesday to a big reaction from the crowd and other judges. Also on Tuesday's episode: Deja Hall got Shakira's vote over Ddendyl with the tune "Say Something" from A Great Big World. With the D...

The Battles Round 2 continue on "The Voice" Tuesday (April 1), with only one steal left going into the final episode Battles next week.
Battle 1: Biff Gore vs. Sisaundra Lewis (Team Blake)
Song: "It's a Man's Man's Man's World" by James Brown
Blake was correct when he said Biff and Sisaundra occupy the same lane of that soulful R&B singer. They're both very good, though I'm not crazy about all of their affectations while singing -- please, all singers, please stop acting out the lyrics. But I'm giving the edge to Sisaundra. The way she made those octave-climbing jumps on "ma-ah-ah-ah-an" at the very end, that was awesome. Biff is very good, but Sisaundra is incredible.
Winner: Blake chooses Sisaundra and no one steals Biff. The only coaches with steals left are Adam and Blake, so obviously only Adam could steal Biff.

Time to finish up the final battles of Round 1 on "The Voice" Season 6, with Usher as the only judge with a steal to use.
Battle 1: Cary Laine vs. Sam Behymer (Team Adam)
Song: "Give Me Love" by Ed Sheeran
Sam's voice better for this song, Cary would have been more suited to a country song, maybe, but they both have a couple pitch issues here and there. The part where they sing together in harmony is nice, but this was not the most outstanding battle. Neither biffed it, but neither really shined brightly either. We would pick Sam but that's only a matter of taste, this one really is a toss-up.
Winner: Adam chooses Sam and Usher does not steal Cary, which is not a huge surprise.
Battle 2: Noah Lis vs. Kaleigh Glanton (Team Blake)
Song: "Everything" by Michael Buble
This should be right in Noah's wheelhouse as a jazz singer,...

Blake Shelton used up his last steal to snag Tess Boyer from Team Usher, and Madilyn Paige and Tanner James performed a sweet duet in the third part of the battle rounds of The Voice.
The third night of battle rounds began with Team Adam Levine's Austin Ellis and Josh Kaufman singing Pharrell’s Oscar-winning song “Happy.” The singers both delivered, and seemed to genuinely enjoy performing together. Blake goes for Josh, but Usher and Shakira are more hesitant to call a winner. Usher said that, while he thinks Josh won the battle, Austin is a “caged beast.” In the end, Adam Levine went with Josh, and Austin went home.
Blake Shelton was the next coach to find himself in the hot seat. He paired country duo Alaska & Madi against Audra McLaughlin. The country crooners sung Linda Ronstadt’s “When Will I Be Loved” and Alaska & Madi brought the...

Battle 1: Austin Ellis vs. Josh Kaufman (Team Levine)
Song: "Happy" by Pharrell
Both men sound nice on this song, but it seems to suit Austin's voice just a little more, at least at the beginning. He just sounds richer than Josh, though Josh does loosen up as the song goes on, plus his falsetto is nice and he handles the high harmony with aplomb. It's a tough one and a great battle to kick off the episode. We were Team Austin at first, but by the end, we were Team Josh, so it's a hard choice. But...

The Voice finally began the competition portion of the show with the first episode of Battle Rounds, with Shakira stealing Patrick Thomson and Adam Levine stealing Jake Barker.
Coaches Usher and Blake Shelton both had two battles on Monday night, meaning they let go of two of their artists, and Adam and Shakira only let go of one each.
First up in Team Usher were Biff Gore and Tj Wilkins. The R&B singers battled with The Temptations’ classic “Ain’t Too Proud To Beg,” and Usher instructs them to try to sing their hearts out to beg for Shakira’s attention. Both men went into the ring with their A game, dancing and delivering well-rounded entertainment. In the end, Usher decided to keep Tj on his team, leaving Biff free to steal or free to go home.
