Alexander Zverev teamed up with veteran Laura Siegemund and delivered a stunning performance to clinch the 2024 United Cup final for Germany.
Some people might consider doubles boring, but if they ever tell you that, send them the highlights of this match. It was a spectacular match that had everything. There was drama, there were spectacular moments, and some great tennis.
Both teams did their best because it was a crucial match. The winner takes all, and Germany took it all. They're in the final and will play against Poland, which should be a spectacular final.
If we get anything like this tie, then we should be happy. It began with Angelique Kerber beating Ajla Tomljanovic earlier today, which was a minor surprise. Then we saw Alex de Minaur turning around the match against Alexander Zverev, and that was quite a surprise because Zverev was the most valuable player for his country so far.

Alex de Minaur is excited about playing for Australia at the United Cup, but he's not keen to play against his girlfriend, Katie Boulter, at the event.
De Minaur and Boulter are part of the same group at the United Cup, as Australia and Great Britain will play against each other. The event is coming up shortly, beginning on December 29th, with the Australia - Great Britain match actually kicking off the event.
De Minaur will play in singles, as will Boulter, but there is also the mixed doubles match. Boulter will likely play the mixed doubles match, but de Minaur is not particularly keen on playing himself. He mentioned Matthew Ebden as the doubles specialist, which is true, but it would be fun to see Boulter and De Minaur face each other.

The 2023 tennis season is another year in the record books and one in which 111 players added to their net worth by at least $1 million.
For the second consecutive year, Novak Djokovic and Iga Swiatek emerged as the highest earners within their respective tours. It's not a surprise, to say the least, as both players topped the podium by winning the most titles last season. Djokovic won seven, while Swiatek won six.
The Serbian took his career earnings past the $180 million mark after banking an impressive tally of $15,952,044, having played at all four Grand Slam finals and winning three. Swiatek, meanwhile, earned $9,857,686, the bulk of which was garnered at the Wta Finals, where she went undefeated during the week.

Alex de Minaur had the best season of his career, and he's leading the list of Nominees for the prestigious Newcombe Medal.
The Australian Tennis Awards are coming up, and one of them will get the prestigious Newcombe Medal. It's the award reserved for the best player from that country, as recent winners include Ashleigh Barty and Dylan Alcott.
This year's list of candidates includes six names, with de Minaur being the leading one among them. It's not the first time de Minaur has been nominated, and it wouldn't be the first time he won it if he ended up as the winner.
He won the award back in 2018 when he had his breakout, finishing the year as world number 31. This year de Minaur had the best season of his life. He finished with 47 wins and 27 losses.

The first match of the 2023 Davis Cup Finals final was played, and Matteo Arnaldi delivered for Italy, giving Jannik Sinner a championship point after beating Alexei Popyrin.
If Jannik Sinner beats Alex de Minaur, Italy will win the 2023 Davis Cup, which would be a huge achievement for the country, which wasn't considered a tennis powerhouse until a few years ago.
With the rise of Sinner, Matteo Berrettini, and other talents from the country, Italy was expected to win one of these years, and it might happen later today.
A good chunk of that is thanks to Matteo Arnaldi, who delivered a huge point for Italy. Australia has a pretty strong doubles pairing with Matthew Ebden and Max Purcell, so winning the singles was always their best chance to get it done.
Thanks to Arnaldi's win, Sinner has the trophy on his racquet. He's 5-0 all-time against de Minaur, so yeah.

Thanasi Kokkinakis was supposed to be part of the Australian Davis Cup Team at the 2023 Davis Cup Finals, but he won't because of an injury.
Thanasi Kokkinakis endured a really heartbreaking career. After breaking out as a teenager, the Australian kept battling injuries for years. This year was the healthiest he's ever been, and it reflected in his results as he managed to record some important wins.
As such, he was expected to be a vital part of the Australian Davis Cup Team, but that won't be happening as he got injured.
He was in action a few weeks ago back home in Australia, playing some Atp Challenger events, but he twisted his ankle at one of them, forcing him to abandon plans of playing in the Davis Cup. Team Captain Lleyton Hewitt confirmed it.
Well, he got injured. He played a tournament in Sydney a few weeks ago and twisted his ankle.

The 2023 Paris Masters draw revealed something very exciting, and it's a super doubles match featuring Stan Wawrinka , Jannik Sinner , and Novak Djokovic .
Novak Djokovic doesn't really play doubles often, but he will have to play them at the upcoming Davis Cup Final Eight competition. When Serbia's team was announced recently, Djokovic was one of the players on it.
There wasn't any doubles specialist on the team, which means that Djokovic will partner some of his compatriots in an effort to power Serbia to the trophy. Because of that, he's teaming up with fellow Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic to test out the chemistry ahead of that event.
The Paris Masters seems like a perfect place to do so, so that's why it's happening. Now, the draw wasn't very kind to them, as they got a really tough pairing in the opening round, but it's a great matchup.
