Composer for film, media and live performance with experience in a wide range of musical genres. He has produced music for many high profile adverts and television upfronts, as well as TV shows for leading broadcasters such as BBC and NBC.
Graduated in Audio Engineering with honors and with a strong classical academic background from a Major in Music Composition, his introduction to visual media began by working as a Music Editor in a big Television Company (Venevisión). His experience working as a Recording Engineer for symphonic orchestras ("El Sistema") led him to develop a deep knowledge of modern recording techniques, which he uses to produce high quality orchestrated music even in mock-ups made with sample instruments. He studied Orchestration for Film with the renowned Hollywood Orchestrators Scott Smalley (Batman, Mission: Impossible, Starship Troopers) and Robert Drasnin (The Twilight Zone, Cinemania, Lost in Space).
In 2014, Bastidas was one of the 20 composers selected to participate in the annual NYU/ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop held in New York.
He was nominated at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards 2014 in the category "Best Original Score Indie Film/Short" for his work on the film "The Decisive Moment".
Since June 2015 he has been working as a Music Composer and Producer at Chaliwa, Inc., a Music and Sound Production Company.
