"I'm just trying to look after my family..." Film4 out of the UK has debuted another official trailer for the generational crime drama Trespass Against Us, about a family of criminals who end up battling against each other. The indie film stars Michael Fassbender as a man trying desperately to escape the dangerous criminal world presided over by his savage father, played by Brendan Gleeson. The cast also includes Rory Kinnear, Sean Harris, Lyndsey Marshal, Killian Scott and Georgie Smith. This also features a score by The Chemical Brothers, some of which can be heard in the trailer. It seems like a solid crime thriller with some intense dramatic scenes and entertaining action, but it's oddly being released very quietly later this month by A24 in the Us (see the Us trailer here), which makes me a bit concerned. Have a look. Here's the new UK trailer (+ UK poster) for...

Michael Fassbender will soon star in the action adventure film “Assassin’s Creed,” based on the video game by the same name, but he’s already appeared in many films this past year, including “The Light Between the Oceans,” “X-Men: Apocalypse” and then “Trespass Against Us,” a family drama that premiered earlier this year. “Trespass Against Us” follows three generations of the Cutler family who live as outlaws in their own corner of Britain’s richest countryside. Fassbender plays Chad, an heir apparent to his father Colby (Brendan Gleeson), but soon starts looking for another life as his own son Tyson (Georgie Smith) comes of age. It co-stars Sean Harris (“Prometheus”), Lyndsey Marshal (“The Hours”), Rory Kinnear (“Quantum of Solace”) and more. Watch an exclusive clip from the film below.

Brendon Gleeson and Michael Fassbender star, Doctor Who's Adam Smith directors. It's Trespass Against Us...
Does Michael Fassbender sleep? Because he churns out films at a pace that suggests otherwise. And it's not like he's just phoning it in with these performances, either.
The latest Fassbender flick to hit will be Irish family thriller Trespass Against Us, in which Fassbender plays a man caught between his father's wish for him to continue the family outlaw business, and his desire to pass on a different legacy to his young son.
Brendan Gleeson (In Bruges, Calvary) co-stars as Fassbender's character's father and with these two Irish acting powerhouses in one film, Trespass Against Us is already something of a must-see for us.
The film is being helmed by Doctor Who and Skins filmmaker Adam Smith (his Who credits include The Eleventh Hour) and was written by Alastair Siddons.

Blood is a brutal bond. A24 has unveiled a trailer for an indie crime drama from England titled Trespass Against Us, which just premiered at the Toronto Film Festival earlier this month. The film stars Michael Fassbender as a man trying desperately to escape the dangerous criminal world presided over by his savage father, played by Brendan Gleeson. The cast includes Rory Kinnear, Sean Harris, Lyndsey Marshal, Killian Scott and Georgie Smith. Not only does this look like a solid crime thriller with plenty to offer in terms of action and drama, but it also has an "astonishing" score by The Chemical Brothers to top it off. Gleeson, Fassbender and The Chemical Brothers pretty much has me sold no matter what. The car chases look like they might be the best part, but I'm definitely interested in seeing this anyway. Fire this up. Here's the first trailer (+ poster) for Adam Smith's Trespass Against Us,...

A24 has released the trailer for their upcoming crime thriller film, Trespass Against Us, starring Michael Fassbender, Brendan Gleeson, Lyndsey Marshal, and Killian Scott. The film is directed by Adam Smith from a screenplay written by Alastair Siddons.
Trespass Against Us is set across three generations of the Cutler family who live as outlaws in their own anarchic corner of Britain's richest countryside. Chad Cutler (Michael Fassbender) is heir apparent to his bruising criminal father, Colby (Brendan Gleeson) and has been groomed to spend his life hunting, thieving and tormenting the police. But with his own son, Tyson (Georgie Smith) coming of age, Chad soon finds himself locked in a battle with his father for the future of his young family.
When Colby learns of Chad's dreams for another life he sets out to tie his son and grandson into the archaic order that has bound the Cutler family for generations.

I'll see just about anything with Michael Fassbender or Brendan Gleeson in it, so a crime thriller in which they play father and son at odds with each other is a nice little two-for-one. (It also helps that A24, a company I admire and whose tastes tend to align with mine, is distributing the film.) It's called Trespass Against Us, and the first trailer has been released online (via The Film Stage). It's been a while since I've seen a good generational crime movie (The Place Beyond The Pines is the most recent one I can think of off the top of my head), so hopefully this will scratch that itch.
Trespass Against Us is being eyed for a 2017 release.

The film follows three generations of an outlaw family living in Britain’s countryside: patriarch Colby (Gleeson), heir apparent Chad (Fassbender) and young Tyson (Georgie Smith), whose future remains uncertain. “When Colby learns of Chad’s dreams for another life he sets out to tie his son and grandson into the archaic order that has bound the Cutler family for generations,” reads the official synopsis. “He engineers a spectacular piece of criminal business involving a heist, a high-speed car chase and a manhunt, which leaves Chad bruised and bloodied and with his very freedom at stake.

Michael Fassbender‘s family life and life of crime are one in the same in the first trailer for “Trespass Against Us.” The film tells the story of three generations of the Cutler family, who live as modern day outlaws in Britain’s countryside. Chad Cutler (Michael Fassbender) is heir apparent to his criminal father Colby (Brendan Gleeson), and has been groomed to spend his life hunting, thieving and tormenting the police. But with his own son Tyson (Georgie Smith) coming of age, Chad soon finds himself locked in a battle with his father for the future of his family.

With The Light Between Oceans coming and going fairly quickly following its Venice premiere and subsequent theatrical release, Michael Fassbender was also on the fall festival circuit with another film, Trespass Against Us. Coming from commercial and music video helmer Adam Smith, Fassbender stars alongside Brendan Gleeson as a family embroiled in a life of crime. While A24 haven’t set a specific 2017 date yet, they’ve now released the first trailer.
We said in our review, “It’s clear within the first few minutes of first-time director Adam Smith’s Trespass Against Us — as a muddy Subaru races after a bounding rabbit in the U.K. countryside, with a young boy at the wheel — that the film to follow will be a disorienting experience. Indeed, it’s one that plunges the audience into thematically murky waters. Crime thriller or offbeat family drama? Darkly funny or way too dreary? Trespass has all of these elements,...
