Zach Fineblum, originally from Baltimore, began his career in storytelling as a classically trained actor and musical performer. He graduated from the prestigious University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theatre BFA Actor Training Program where he studied under the distinguished teacher and director Kenneth Washington. After moving to New York City, Zach worked consistently at theaters across New York and the country, including The Guthrie Theatre, Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, and The Cherry Pit, among others. He originated the role of 'Leonard' in the La Jolla Playhouse's production of Chasing the Song, an original musical from the creative team behind the TONY award-winning Memphis. And he played a recurring role, 'Daniel Schlegel', in the period drama Granite Flats alongside Parker Posey and Christopher Lloyd. As a songwriter, his folk-rock EP entitled Astoria (recorded under the name Zach Henry) can be heard on all major music streaming services.
After deciding he wanted to have more creative agency in his career, Zach decided to pursue an MFA in cinema arts at The Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema where he nurtured a specific interest in creative producing and development. He has produced 4 short films helmed by international directors, and is currently in production on a new short written and directed by former Sundance fellow Jodi Gibson which will shoot in the fall of 2023. Red Gloves, an homage to late '70s Italian slashers and collaboration with writer/director Santiago Saba Salem, won the Audience Award for Best Short Film at the Popcorn Frights Film Festival and is a 2023 Official Selection of A Night of Horror International Film Festival and Brooklyn Horror Film Festival.
Zach, former assistant to producer/manager Brian Medavoy of More Medavoy Management, lives in Brooklyn as an independent creative producer, actor, and singer-songwriter. His creative sensibilities and background as an actor have equipped him with strong expressive instincts and an intuitive understanding of story and character, giving him a unique perspective on and passion for telling stories through a variety of mediums. Zach is always looking to engage with new projects, especially ones that tell diverse stories of hope and determination in the face of great struggle.
