Hot off the heels of the announcement of his first ever headlining performance under his alter ego DJ Hanzel, Dillon Francis has revealed that he has a song coming up with rapper G-Eazy. The two musicians have actually been teasing a collab for about three years now, ever since a fan suggested in 2013 that they team up on a track. Now it looks like the two have finally managed to score some studio time together, and we couldn’t be more excited to see what they cook up.
@Dillonfrancis @Matt_Noblittt very hella necessary tho

G-Eazy took to Twitter over the weekend to reveal that he and Dillon Francis were finally in the studio working together, causing anticipation over their upcoming effort to go through the roof. It’s still too early for a release date, but it goes without saying that this one will be huge when it drops.

While Dillon Francis recently announced that he’s working on an album that will see him further his pop aims from tracks like “Anywhere” with Will Heard, the producer has some other big news up his sleeves. By this point, most fans are aware of Francis’ hilarious alter ego DJ Hanzel, and he’s just revealed that the deep house disk jockey will be holding down his own headlining show in the near future.
The announcement is big news for Francis. While DJ Hanzel has made appearances at festivals and concerts in the past, the upcoming gig will represent his first headlining performance under that moniker. On December 22, DJ Hanzel will drop his first solo performance at Exchange La. Appropriately titled One Deeper, the show is set to feature Phantoms as a special guest.

In a recent interview with Triple J, Dillon Francis has revealed that he’s working on a new album. It will serve as the producer’s first full length studio effort since 2014’s Make Friends Not Money and the follow up to his This Mixtape Is Fire Ep from last year.
Speaking with the Australian radio station, Francis offered up a few details about the forthcoming record, stating “right now yeah, I’m working on an album. Or I guess it’s like an LP, like seven to eight songs I think.” He expanded on his vision for the LP, revealing that he hopes to make something more cohesive than his last full length effort.
For the LP/Album I want to make, I actually want to work more with Latin artists and do more stuff that’s very Spanglish, Moombahton style. I just really want to make something that’s cohesive,...

Dillon Francis confounded expectations last month with the release of his collaboration with British singer songwriter Will Heard, eschewing his usual dance music madness for a more refined radio friendly sound. With some excellent topline efforts courtesy of Heard and the sort of pop meets tropical vibe we’ve heard from other mainstream producers like Calvin Harris and Major Lazer, “Anywhere” ranks among Francis’ most accessible work.
This week, the producer dropped a surreal music video for the collaborative single, offering up a strange visual concept that sees Edm’s funnyman being sewn into some bizarre clothing and worn by various models during a photoshoot. It doesn’t exactly suit the theme of the song well, but this is Dillon Francis we’re talking about here and it’s definitely an entertaining approach. The whole video features markedly high production values and a vibrant color scheme, which just makes the...

Just a week after the release of his new “Need You” remix with Drezo, Dillon Francis is back with a new single titled “Anywhere,” this time teaming up with UK vocalist Will Heard to deliver a pop friendly dance tune with plenty of radio potential. Francis’ latest offering follows in vein with his recent Jake Miller collaboration from last month that saw him breaking into a more accessible sound palette.
Follow in vein with fellow hitmakers Diplo and Calvin Harris, Dillon Francis delivers his most mainstream production yet on “Anywhere” and we won’t be surprised to see it hitting the charts hard in the coming months. The new tune opens with a catchy chord progression and a pounding kick drum, setting an upbeat vibe that runs throughout the song. Will Heard’s distinctive vocals serve as a highlight on “Anywhere,” moving into summery choruses with splashy synths and uplifting rhythms.

Ahead of his debut album and signature festival, Kygo has released another taste of what the Cloud Nine LP has in store.
Constructed around an evocative chorus, the track’s thickened ambiance calls to mind imagery of an abandoned cathedral, and there’s a dampness in the space between frequencies. Percussion is uncharacteristically cold against the track’s high reverb atmosphere, and there’s even a bit of pizzicato to complement James Vincent McMorrow’s scampering vocals.
Most notably, however, is the absence of Kygo’s trademark tropical modulations. It’s quite apparent that “I’m In Love” is drawn from a much deeper well than previous singles, and we’re frothing at what else the 24-year-old Norwegian has prepared for the album.
“I’m In Love” is the last release before Kygo‘s Cloud Nine becomes available in full on May 13th. While we’re having trouble waiting for the disc to drop,...
