The Walking Dead is over, but like the zombies at the heart (er, brains?) of the tale, the franchise lives on.
Clocking in at 11 seasons and 177 episodes all told, the AMC horror drama shuffled off into the afterlife, only to birth a bevy of spinoff shows, most of which center on beloved characters from the original series like the Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) reunion series The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. Beyond those continuing adventures, there are also the spinoffs without too many overt ties to the “flagship” Walking Dead, including the very first of these spinoffs, Fear the Walking Dead (also now in the grave, joined there by the two-seasons-and-out The Walking Dead: World Beyond and single season anthology series Tales of the Walking Dead).

Only two seasons in and "Invincible" has already assembled quite the voice cast. While it relies primarily on name screen actors for the big parts, the show doesn't neglect to invite professional voice actors to the party either. Even the leads offer performances that are a cut above the celebrity voice-acting you see in, for instance, DreamWorks or Illumination animated movies.
It's an easy bet that one can recognize at least some of the voices on "Invincible." Maybe a viewer knows them from watching plenty of American cartoons and hearing their voices over and over again. Or maybe they know the voices from the on-camera work the cast has done but can't place them.
Whatever the case may be, here is a rundown of the actors who've been bringing these comic book characters to life — and how their work on "Invincible" compares to their previous roles.

Steven Yeun, an Oscar, SAG and Emmy nominee most recently seen in the critically acclaimed series Beef, has signed with WME for representation.
He was previously at CAA.
Yeun is perhaps best known for the role of Glenn Rhee for six seasons on AMC’s The Walking Dead, which was at the time one of, if not the biggest, shows on television.
In 2020, Yeun was nominated for Oscar and SAG awards for his performance in Lee Isaac Chung’s drama Minari, released by A24 and on which he also served as an executive producer.
And he most recently starred in and executive produced Netflix’s critically acclaimed drama Beef, which also starred Ali Wong. The series received a sweep of Emmy nominations, with Yeun receiving one for best actor in a limited series and one for exec producing the show via the best limited series category. This article contains spoilers for The Walking Dead: Dead City episode 6.
Dead City’s first season has wrapped, but the saga of Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) won’t end here for fans of The Walking Dead. Indeed, AMC announced during San Diego Comic-Con 2023 that the show had been renewed for a second season.
Maggie and Negan have grown to resemble one another more over time, with Maggie’s slide into “any means necessary” violence countering Negan’s attempts at redemption in whatever form he can get it. This season saw all of their old animosities dragged back into the light but also showed what “a badass team” they can be when working together.
The final episode resolved surprisingly few of the plot elements established in the first episode and instead opted to set up future developments. When we leave Maggie and her son Hershel, their relationship...

AMC’s “The Walking Dead” has crawled back out of its shallow grave following the series finale that aired back in November with “The Walking Dead: Dead City.” The first of many spin-offs on the horizon, “Dead City” follows Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) as they venture into a walker-infested New York City to rescue Maggie and Glenn’s son Hershel who has been kidnapped by a former-Savior.
Set a few years after the flagship series’ strong finale, Maggie and Negan have gone their separate ways since their intensive conversation in the final episode. Maggie continues to float between Hilltop and other adjacent communities. Negan has taken a nomad approach to life, getting into all sorts of trouble around the post-apocalyptic wasteland. After a no-good group of baddies begins demanding resources monthly from one of Maggie’s communities, they take young Hershel as a collateral hostage. Meanwhile,...

The Walking Dead saw many tragic deaths occur as the apocalypse brought about the end of life as we all know it. But, none were more tragic than the death of Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun), a character we had been on this journey with since the first episode. Glenn always represented the good still left in the world and his death was the catalyst for a season-long war that saw the group of survivors become more violent and ruthless than they ever have been. As The Walking Dead went on it always felt like a mistake to kill Glenn off.

Steven Yeun has been wowing fans with his acting abilities since he rose to fame playing Glenn Rhee on "The Walking Dead." He's since gone on to land other big roles, including starring alongside Ali Wong in Netflix's new thriller series "Beef." While some fans know that Yeun has been married to photographer Joana Pak since Dec. 3, 2016, not many are aware that the couple share two children.
Despite the fact that Yeun typically keeps quiet about his family life, he did previously open up about how Pak helps him prepare for some of his roles, including the 2020 film "Minari." In a February 2021 interview with W magazine, Yeun shared: "'Minari' is essentially the story of my wife's family. My wife is Korean but grew up in Arkansas, and her family first made their money by chicken sexing. They gave me some tips on how to work with the chicks.

“What the fuck is happening?”
That was Steven Yeun’s reaction while shooting the cataclysmic climax of “Beef,” which he leads with Ali Wong. The Netflix and A24 dramedy opens plausibly enough with a road-rage scene between Wong’s Amy, an entrepreneur whose easygoing nature masks secret desires, and Yeun’s Danny, a contractor who goes to extremes to obtain what he wants. But that initial conflict drives both to exact bizarre acts of revenge on each other, revealing the darkest corners of their psyches. The result? Chaos. In one scene, Amy masturbates with a gun; in another, Danny urinates all over her bathroom — and that’s just the beginning. Seeded throughout are quiet explorations of the characters’ anger, loneliness and fear.
“Both assume incorrectly that they cannot show their true selves to anyone in their lives,” says Lee Sung Jin, the creator and showrunner of “Beef,” which premieres on...

If you're still bitter about the way Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) went out way back in season seven of "The Walking Dead," you're not alone. In fact, there are loads of people walking around out there who not only miss Glenn, but miss him enough to tell the actor who played the man who killed him about it on the regular. /Film is at the Television Critics Association tour today in Southern California, where Vanessa Armstrong attended a panel featuring Negan actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who spoke about the enduring (and infamous) legacy of his character.
"The great thing about Negan in this role for me is how much he's changed from that day that he walked out of the Rv," Morgan shared. "I didn't think one, that'd I'd still be here and part of this world. But I think Scott [Gimple] and [showrunner Eli Jorné] and the other writers, what they...

Not much is known about the future "phases" in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but all eyes are already fixed on the conclusion to what has been dubbed The Multiverse Saga. While Phase 4 was hit or miss for a lot of fans, the promise of a new crop of heroes (and villains) is enough to keep hype going for Phase 5 and 6. Jaws around the world dropped when Marvel president Kevin Feige announced the two Avengers films that would wrap up this new saga. "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty" and "Avengers: Secret Wars" are both slated to release in 2025. Jonathan Majors' Kang the Conquerer will obviously serve as the big bad behind "The Kang Dynasty," but "Secret Wars" is less certain.
Whether it's based on the 1984 comic of the same name or its 2015 remake, "Secret Wars" will undoubtedly be an event of epic, "Endgame"-level proportions. The first comic storyline brought its heroes...

After 11 seasons and 12 years, present and past cast members of “The Walking Dead” gathered together to celebrate the series finale at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday night. Fans sat on risers yards away from the red carpet, cheering the names of their favorite actors, who spoke to Variety about all they were feeling.
“When we were first doing the pilot, everybody kept saying, ‘This probably won’t go any further, because it’s zombies.’ Everything at that time was vampires,'” said Lennie James, who stars in “The Walking Dead” and spinoff “Fear the Walking Dead” as Morgan Jones. Reflecting on the work of Greg Nicotero, the series’ longtime director and executive producer, and Scott M. Gimple, the franchise’s chief content officer, James added, “What Gimple and Nicotero have done is they’ve made zombie sexy. They’ve made zombie scary. They’ve made zombies interesting.

When you talk to someone about "The Walking Dead," one question inevitably comes up, and no matter the answer it's met with a word or nod of understanding. To an outside observer, it may sound a little bit like we're talking about sobriety. "When did you quit?" "I quit three years ago," or six, or seven. By my calculations, based on the difference between the highest point of the show's ratings and the lowest, there are at least 14 million of us walking around who once watched the apocalyptic drama series live, but stopped tuning in somewhere along the way. Maybe we're the real walking dead, or maybe it's the people who chose to keep trucking through the zombie series that felt like it would never end.

Life is brutal in the zombie apocalypse. AMC’s “The Walking Dead” has killed off dozens of characters over the course of its 11-season run, from series regulars to beloved guest stars. Character deaths can deliver shocking gore (like when Emmy nominee Tyler James Wilson’s Noah has his face ripped apart in a revolving door) or a final heroic moment (as when Tony and Emmy nominee Tovah Feldshuh’s Deanna sacrifices herself while delivering a defiant scream). But the most memorable ends are the ones that rip at the hearts of viewers and leave them in a puddle of tears.
As “The Walking Dead” rockets toward its November 20 series finale, here are the top five most emotional deaths from the past 11 seasons.

Scheduled to debut in April next year, the six-episode first season of Dead City has been shooting in nearby New Jersey for the past several weeks. Friday Night Lights vet Gaius Charles is also in the Dead City cast, as was revealed back in April.
One of at least three Twd spinoffs planned after the mothershow wraps up on November 20 after 11 seasons, Dead City sees Morgan’s once villainous Negan and Cohan’s Maggie in the streets of the now-decimated metropolis.

"The Walking Dead" is known for surprising exits. Yes, the long-running AMC drama is based on the equally long-running Image Comics series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard, so many fans could anticipate what was going to happen in the acclaimed live-action series. But it doesn't make it any less shocking when characters like Glenn Rhee, Beth Greene, and Carl Grimes exit the show in an emotional manner. Death is not the end…at least that seems like it’ll be the case for certain characters in the Walking Dead universe (thank goodness). With the announcement that Tales of the Walking Dead will premiere next summer, we’ve started thinking about which characters we’d like to see featured on the series. The description of the show says Tales could incorporate characters who had met their end in previous seasons, so not being part of the current storylines doesn’t preclude them from showing up—and there are definitely some long-gone characters we’d love to make a return. Here are seven stories we think Tales could tell well. Gene Page/AMC Anything Glenn-Related We know he was a pizza delivery man, so…why not give us a whole episode of Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) delivering pizzas? In all sincerity, it would be wonderful to see Glenn again...

This Walking Dead article contains spoilers.
Now that Maggie’s in charge, Negan’s time is almost up. That much is clear to the man who’s been in villain rehabilitation for the past two seasons when he’s drafted to join a group of Alexandrians on a mission to recover the food and supplies the settlement desperately needs after the war with the Whisperers. The journey back to Maggie’s old settlement involves navigating the dark, walker-infested subway tunnels of a city that Negan knows well, but that’s not the only reason he’s been chosen for the mission.
While Maggie will do anything to protect the rest of her people, Negan knows this is a one-way trip for him. He knows that once he’s served his purpose, Maggie plans to kill him…or better yet, leave him for the walkers to feast on. And when he confronts her about it,...

Characters don’t usually last too long on AMC’s zombie epic The Walking Dead.
Frequent, major character deaths are bound to happen amid a dangerous post-apocalyptic environment rife with ravenous corpses. The culling of cast is also just a fact of life for a physically demanding acting job that requires performers to endure grueling Georgia summers for an indeterminate number of seasons.
At this point in The Walking Dead’s run, the number of significant dead characters are sure to outnumber the living. While frequent casting turnover might be at times difficult to stomach for viewers, it presents a rare opportunity for collectors.
Many major pop culture properties have entered into the collectible trading card game. The Walking Dead, however, is a particularly apt fit. What better way to keep track of the series’ many characters and to memorialize the ones we’ve lost...

Invincible comic writer Robert Kirkman has a gentlemanly agreement with Steven Yeun, who appeared in The Walking Dead for six seasons and now stars as the adapted Invincible’s titular hero.
“Steven and I have a rule that there’s no more popping his eyeballs out. I can live with that – once is enough,” Kirkman tells Den of Geek and other outlets during the series’ press day.
Kirkman’s imagination is as violent as it is vast. Yeun’s character Glenn Rhee on AMC’s The Walking Dead (based on the Kirkman comic of the same name) was a notable unfortunate recipient of that bloodlust when he was beaten to death with a barbed wire baseball bat in the show’s seventh season.
Now Yeun is providing his voice to Mark Grayson a.k.a. Invincible – the super-powered high schooler at the center of Amazon Prime’s adaptation of Kirkman’s comic.

“We’ve always on the show had certain episodes within a season that might be really, really tight where it’s really only dealing with a couple people or a few people or a few people and telling a kind of singular story,” says The Walking Dead showrunner Angela Kang as the zombie apocalypse series returns with its Season 10C debut and an extra six episodes. “So these are kind of fun for us as writers to work on because it gives us a chance to really give those actors lots of material to play, the EP adds. “It gives us a chance to, sit in moments a little more than we might.”

Amazon Prime Video continues its splash into adult animated series with “Invincible,” created by Robert Kirkman, the co-creator of “The Walking Dead.” Based on the Skybound/Image comic of the same name by Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, “Invincible” is an hour-long episodic series that centers on 17-year-old Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun), who’s just like every other guy his age — except for the fact that his father is only the most powerful superhero on the planet, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons). But as Mark develops powers of his own, he discovers that his father’s legacy may not be as heroic as it seems. Watch the latest trailer below.

Over the last couple of national election cycles, a topic of much discussion and often heated debate has been immigration. In light of the impassionate rhetoric, many have neglected the human, personal side of the issue. it’s sometimes called the “immigrant experience”, the old “planting roots in rich new soil” idea that’s been around since our country (and a big reason the USA began in the first place) started. The movies have mined this topic many times during its century or so, from America America to Moscow On The Hudson. Now audiences will be treated to another family’s fable, told from an often neglected culture’s perspective, and set in the fairly recent past for just a seasoning of nostalgia. And it’s mainly told from a child’s perspective as he adjusts to his new home while trying to cling to his own land, part of which is another arrival,...

During their conversation for Variety’s Actors on Actors series, presented by Amazon Studios, Steven Yeun and Riz Ahmed talked intensely about such topics as the immigrant experience as reflected in “Minari,” how Ahmed learned sign language for “Sound of Metal” and the idea of “code switching” — how, as actors of Asian descent, they’ve been subjected to prejudice, both in the larger world and in the entertainment industry.
“It helps you to survive,” Ahmed said of code switching. “It helped you become an actor with the tremendous range that you have, because you have to be the Korean version of yourself for home and the American version of yourself for high school.”
Ahmed asked about how Yeun’s experience on the hugely successful horror drama “The Walking Dead” factored in the discussion, to which Yeun replied, “Dude, thanks for asking this.”

The zombie apocalypse that took hold of TV in 2010 was very, very good for Steven Yeun.
To say that “The Walking Dead” was Yeun’s breakout role would be an understatement so powerful it could reanimate a corpse.
Yeun had a handful of onscreen credits to his name before he was cast in the AMC series in the role of Glenn Rhee. The character immediately proved to be pivotal to the series, as he was the one who initially rescued Andrew Lincoln’s Rick Grimes from zombies in the show’s second episode, which made the character part of the group that formed the core of the series.
Though Glenn was just a pizza delivery guy prior to the events of the series, he quickly became a fan favorite after he demonstrated a willingness to risk his life to protect others. It also did not hurt he got to star...

The Walking Dead may be ending with its upcoming 11th season, but many of the characters will live on. Fear The Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: World Beyond are both producing new runs, and Daryl and Carol will be returning in their own spinoff show once the main Twd series ends.
While all of these projects are exciting, none are as mysterious as Tales Of The Walking Dead. This anthology program is said to follow old and new characters alike across different forms of media, ranging from live action episodes to animation to even musicals. The possibilities are potentially endless. That being said, it seems that we now know of at least one familiar face who’ll be back.
Fans may have been hoping to see the return of favorites such as Glenn Rhee or Abraham Ford, and although we shouldn’t rule out appearances for either of those characters just yet,...

The Walking Dead is set to expand in some major new ways in the near future. We’ve got spinoff World Beyond coming this October, and then those Andrew Lincoln movies will likely kick off next year. We know there are various other projects in the works, too. And just recently, chief content officer Scott M. Gimple revealed that many of these will be prequels, focusing on long-gone characters from the franchise in the early days of the apocalypse.
This exciting revelation was made during the Twd presentation at Comic-Con@Home a couple of weekends ago, where Gimple teased a bunch of short-form spinoffs featuring familiar, fan-favorite characters.
“I will say, we’re working on things where we are looking at past characters,” Gimple said. “Maybe not a whole series, but we’re looking at things where we can take a peek at — maybe not pre-apocalypse — but early in the apocalypse.

The Walking Dead season 10B got a new trailer this weekend and it features a bunch of interesting teases for what’s to come when the post-apocalyptic drama returns in less than a month. One of these is a brief shot that shows a hand rising up out of their grave within the Alexandria safezone. This tells us that a former Alexandrian might not have been as dead as everyone thought when they went into the ground.
So, does this mean a major character is returning, at least in walker form? That’s what Twd fans are hoping for. The show’s Twitter account has been hyping up the mystery, leaving viewers to voice their own wishes for whose hand that might be. And three names, in particular, have been suggested a lot.
