James Yan is an Australian Media Composer and Orchestrator based in London.
He has contributed scores to a variety of short films, documentaries, web series and animations. He received the Best Composer award at the 22nd SFS film festival and the AFTRS academic prize for music scoring for the screen. He was a finalist in both the 2018 Oticons International Film Music Competition and the FMF Young Talent Awards.
A graduate of the Royal College of Music's prestigious Composition for Screen course, he has also contributed music to a variety of UK and Australian based Production Music companies, wherein his music has been featured on the BBC, Big Ten Network, Eurosport, PBS, CNN, ESPN, Discovery, the NBA and the NFL's 'All Access' among others.
In addition to his work as a composer, he has also worked as orchestrator on a variety of Films, TV Shows and Video Games, including Marvel's Guardians of The Galaxy for Richard Jacques, Black Adam for Lorne Balfe and Call of Duty Mobile for Audiomachine.
