Talk to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle? It’s reportedly not going to happen as far as Prince William and Kate Middleton are concerned. Especially as the Princess of Wales, 42, is “at her most vulnerable” battling an undisclosed type of cancer. Ahead, what the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Prince and Princess of Wales “understand” about each other amid their years-long rift.
William and ‘vulnerable’ Kate don’t want to ‘start’ talking to Harry and Meghan during cancer treatment
Four years after leaving royal life for California, Harry and Meghan “understand” where William and Kate stand and vice versa.
“Both sides understand each other’s position clearly now,” a friend of William and Kate’s told The Daily Beast. “William and Catherine felt completely betrayed by Harry’s memoir,” Spare.

Every couple of months in comic book-centric social media circles, someone reposts a comics page in which Deadpool shooting Spider-Man in the head or decapitating an exhausted Bruce Banner. These panels usually spark arguments about whether or not these kills are in character (they aren’t) or if the entire thing is a joke (it is).
Eventually, someone points out that the pages come from Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe, a 2012-2013 miniseries by Cullen Bunn and Dalibor Talajic. The story involves Deadpool’s fourth-wall-breaking powers driving him so mad that he decides to kill all the other Marvel characters because they’re fictional and their lives don’t matter. Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe may have inspired controversy, but it also inspired several sequels, including Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe Again.
From all that we’ve seen so far, Deadpool & Wolverine seems to have little in common with Bunn and Talajic’s take.

The Beatles were the best rock ‘n’ roll band ever, but there was one way in which Michael Jackson surpassed them. The King of Pop was simply a better entertainer than the Fab Four. That is not to say he always made superior music — but the “Thriller” singer had some gifts that The Beatles did not.
1 way Michael Jackson’s era was better than The Beatles’
The Beatles gave the world many of the best and most innovative pop songs of all time, including “Tomorrow Never Knows,” “Strawberry Fields Forever,” and “A Day in the Life.” However, their live performances never quite lived up to the magic they made in the studio. They would play professionally, but they weren’t much for razzle-dazzle. They were a band of their time. The Beatles stopped making music before 1970s acts like David Bowie, Kiss, and Alice Cooper revolutionized live shows and made them more theatrical.

The best pop stars are full of surprises. Beyoncé surprised everyone by releasing her version of The Beatles’ “Blackbird.” Paul McCartney had a strong reaction to the cover on social media. Fascinatingly, the original song was inspired by the Civil Rights Movement.
Paul McCartney said Beyoncé understood the message of The Beatles’ ‘Blackbird’
So many classic artists across genres have put their own spin on Beatles songs. Some of the R&b icons who covered Fab Four tracks include Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, and Prince. Beyoncé added her name to that canon with her cover of “Blackbird,” a folk ditty from The White Album.
In a 2024 Instagram post, Paul himself heaped praise on Queen B’s “Blackbird.” “I am so happy with @beyonce’s version of my song ‘Blackbird,'” he wrote. “I think she does a magnificent version of it and it reinforces the civil rights message...

Jamie Foxx’s favorite Beatles song is from Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. And while hee made a good choice, Foxx associates the tune with an infamous movie. Here’s a look at one of the most widely hated movies of the 1970s and its connection to The Beatles.
Jamie Foxx said all of The Beatles’ songs displayed their ‘incredible talent’
During a 2009 interview with Cleveland.com, Foxx was asked to name the Fab Four tune he likes the most. He chose the title track from Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” is a hard-rock ditty and a far cry from Foxx’s soul/hip-hop style.
“That sticks out because of the movie,” he opined. “Everything they did … incredible talent, man. It’s just amazing how great they were, how they influenced our culture, and how the music still stands up today.

You can discover a lot about a musician by learning their favorite Beatles song. Keith Urban said one of The Beatles’ songs has “an exquisite arrangement.” It makes sense that a country singer would like the tune in question. Sadly, the world at large doesn’t have the opinion taste as Urban.
Keith Urban’s favorite Beatles song is from ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’
During a 2009 interview with Cleveland.com, Urban was asked to pick his favorite Beatles song. He chose “She’s Leaving Home.” “She’s Leaving Home” is a ballad from Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and it’s one of the most ignored songs in the Fab Four’s discography.
“What an exquisite arrangement,” Urban said. “The originality of that band continues to dumbfound me. I don’t know where they were drawing from, but it was such a magnificently original place.

Mario Van Peebles has set his latest film “The Price for Freedom,” which tells the story of civil rights pioneers and NAACP organizers Harry T. and Harriette V. Moore, who were instrumental in advancing the cause for Black voters in Florida.
The Moores’ story is described as “equal parts civil rights history and a personal tale of love, commitment and family,” as it chronicles the activists’ fight for voting rights and the equalization of pay for Black teachers in Florida, as well as their battle against racial violence and lynching.
After opening 64 chapters of the NAACP in the state and registering hundreds of thousands of Black voters, the Moores were murdered on Dec. 25, 1951, when a bomb exploded directly under their bedroom at their home on the outskirts of Mims, Fla.
“It was their attempted defense alongside the young Thurgood Marshall (destined to become the first Black Supreme Court justice) of the ‘Groveland Four,...

Yoko Ono revealed she likes one of The Beatles‘ albums better than Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. She also named her favorite Beatles song, which was a huge hit. Blasphemous though it may seem, John Lennon wasn’t the biggest fan of Sgt. Pepper.
Yoko Ono loves ‘The White Album’ and the message of 1 Beatles song
During a 2016 interview with US Weekly, Yoko discussed her attitude toward two of The Beatles’ albums. “I don’t know if people will hate me for saying this, but I always preferred The White Album to Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” she said. “Don’t get me wrong, I love Pepper’s too.” At this point, plenty of Beatles fans would agree with Yoko’s conclusion.

The Beatles‘ “Yellow Submarine” was unquestionably a highlight of Ringo Starr’s career but he said it wouldn’t have been as popular if its lyrics were slightly different. He thought fans would have been put off if the submarine was “deep purple.” Interestingly, The Beatles’ “Yellow Submarine” originally started with a 30-second intro that was very different from anything in the final version of the song. Ringo said the tune came from a period in the Fab Four’s career where they were heavily influenced by a very 1960s muse: drugs.
Paul McCartney decided The Beatles’ ‘Yellow Submarine’ should focus on the color yellow
During a 2022 interview with USA Today, Ringo discussed his recollections of The Beatles’ “Yellow Submarine” from 1966. “The boys used to write a song for me and they’d present whatever they thought would be good for me,” he said. “They had this song and they decided to liven it up.

When it was released in 2022, The Russo Bros.' spy thriller "The Gray Man," based on the 2009 novel by Mark Greaney, boasted the largest budget of any Netflix film to date, costing the studio about $200 million. "The Gray Man" was a flippant action flick that starred Ryan Gosling as a skilled CIA assassin nicknamed Sierra Six, after the ultra-secret Sierra program that trained him. Sierra Six, on an early mission, learns from the now-independent Sierra Four (Callan Mulvey) that there may be some active corruption or malfeasance in the Sierra program, and goes rogue, searching for the truth. Six's boss Fitzroy (Billy Bob Thornton) hires the kooky, ultra-violent Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans) to track him down. Ana De Armas also appears as a CIA agent named Dani Miranda.

While many covers of The Beatles‘ songs are bland regurgitations, Nancy Sinatra’s version of The Beatles’ “Day Tripper” is almost thought-provoking. Sinatra revealed she wanted her rendition of the tune to sound “girly.” Her cover was part of a larger trend on her debut album.
Nancy Sinatra covered The Beatles’ ‘Day Tripper’ and ‘Run for Your Life’ for her debut
The Beatles’ “Day Tripper” is a song where the Fab Four gleefully take down a girl for being a tease. It’s a bit on the misogynistic side, though it’s far from the most offensive song from The Beatles or their contemporaries. Sinatra covered “Day Tripper” and flipped the genders so she’s taking a man down. It’s a cheeky, empowering song that listeners might expect from the singer behind such hits as “These Boots Are Made for Walkin'” and “How Does That Grab You, Darlin’?”

And that certainly doesn’t exclude those within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as actor Ben Mendelsohn, who plays the Skrull Talos on Disney+ series Secret Invasion – has selected his own pick. And no, it’s not Nick Fury – or even a hero, as Doctor Doom ranked as his #1 Marvel character, having made his first appearance in The Fantastic Four #5.
Speaking with The Wrap, Mendelsohn – who played Talos previously in Captain Marvel and in a Spider-Man: Far From Home cameo – cited exactly why he choose Doctor Doom as the best Marvel creation ever. “Victor von Doom is the greatest single character in the entire MCU, bar none. He’s the first character to ever have a substantive backstory that we could understand and that gives context in both the old traditional Cold War mind of state kind of idea and also...

Only one of Louis Armstrong’s songs hit No. 1 in the United States. It stopped The Beatles‘ “Do You Want to Know a Secret” from becoming a No. 1 hit. Subsequently, Paul McCartney revealed he’s not a big fan of “Do You Want to Know a Secret.”
1 cover by Louis Armstrong outperformed The Beatles’ ‘Do You Want to Know a Secret’
Many of Armstrong’s songs were covers. For example, “When the Saints Go Marching In,” “La Vie en rose,” and “Dream a Little Dream of Me” were all initially by other artists. His hit “Hello, Dolly!” was originally from the Broadway musical of the same name.
The Billboard Book of Number 1 Hits said the latter song topped the Billboard Hot 100. Jazz wasn’t huge in the 1960s, so it’s incredible that Armstrong’s “Hello, Dolly!” performed that well. In addition, the tune blocked The Beatles’ “Do You Want...

Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh star power is on the rise. A commentator says the 58-year-old is among the British royal family’s “new female stars.” The reasons behind it stem from Sophie’s past and her public displays of emotion.
Royals seemingly took Sophie ‘into their hearts’ after the deaths of Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II Meghan Markle, Queen Camilla, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Kate Middleton, and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh | Karwai Tang/WireImage
The royal family undoubtedly changed following the deaths of Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II in 2021 and 2022. Along with King Charles III taking the throne came a reshuffling of royals, including Sophie.
She, and her husband, Prince Edward, were named the Duchess and Duke of Edinburgh, taking over the title from Philip. They’ve also carried out more official engagements, what with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and Prince Andrew no longer being working royals.

I vividly remember the first time I saw a Black woman in a toothpaste ad.
There I sat on our shag carpet, my goldfish behind me and a poster of The Fonz just steps away, taped to my bedroom door. I was watching TV and suddenly a beautiful woman in a short natural filled my screen, her teeth perfect and gleaming. I sat, mesmerized, and watched her shine. When her 30 seconds were up, I raced back to tell my mother: “Mamma, there was a Black woman on TV!”
All Gen X kids timed their day around Saturday morning cartoons, Zoom and Kids Are People Too. After, we rode our bikes till the streetlights came on. For Black Gen X, the jumble of Huffies, Big Wheels and metal skates on someone’s front yard let the little kids know it was time for Fat Albert, What’s Happening! or Good Times.

Shooting Stars is a filmic representation of the life of LeBron James based on the memoir of the same name he co-wrote. It tells the story of James, starting with a brief part of his childhood to the time in high school when, along with his other friends, he rose up the ladder of fame. Starting with a 4:3 aspect ratio and quickly introducing us to the “Fab 4”, as they called themselves, we are pulled into the lives of the four kids with a deep passion for playing basketball. Trained and raised by their coach, Dru Joyce II, who keeps telling them that it’s not important how the game is started but how it is finished, the kids live and breathe basketball. In this context of brotherhood and love for each other, the four grow up to become even better at the games, with James showing an extraordinary skillset that shocks everyone.

Not many actors could claim they had played multiple Marvel characters and Star Wars characters in addition to famous historical figures and the villain in one of the biggest Tollywood hits of all time, but Ray Stevenson was one of them. As first reported by Italian news outlets and later confirmed by The Wrap and Variety, the actor died today at the age of 58. Born in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, Stevenson began acting in film and TV in the '90s. He would go on to become a bigger name thanks to his roles as Titus Pullo in the HBO series "Rome" and as Dagonet, one of Arthur's Knights of the Round Table, in Antoine Fuqua's 2004 period action-adventure movie "King Arthur."
As someone with a knack for playing hard-edged fighters and antiheroes, Stevenson was a natural fit to portray the Marvel comic book vigilante Frank Castle in Lexi Alexander's...

Jimmy Page was never one to let songs stay the same. Led Zeppelin’s founding guitarist always viewed studio versions of the band’s songs as blueprints for live experimentation. He almost never played his solos the same way. That’s why Page’s rarest guitar solo came when he joined forces with The Black Crowes in 1999.
Jimmy Page | Michael Ochs Archives/Getty Images Jimmy Page’s rarest guitar solo was a note-for-note copy of a Yardbirds song
Page’s best guitar solos from Led Zeppelin albums remain among the greatest of the classic rock era. Yet when the band performed live — which they did extensively from 1968 through 1973 — those solos took on new lives as Zep breathed new life into their songs during their concerts.
Long story short — Page almost never played his solos live the same way we heard them on the albums. That changed nearly 20 years after Led Zeppelin called it quits.

A song from The Beatles’ Magical Mystery Tour was originally two different songs, one by John Lennon and the other by Paul McCartney. Subsequently, a sound engineer who worked on the song was enthralled with it. The tune complements some other Fab Four songs very well.
The book All We Are Saying: The Last Major Interview with John Lennon and Yoko Ono features an interview from 1980. In it, he was asked about “Baby, You’re a Rich Man.” “That’s a combination of two separate pieces, Paul’s and mine, put together and forced into one song,” he said.
John gave fans insight into how the song came together. “One half was all mine,” he recalled. “‘How does it feel to be one of the beautiful people, now that you know who you are, da da da da.’ Then Paul comes in with [sings] ‘Baby, you’re a rich man,...

In hindsight, The Beatles could just as easily have been called The Chameleons. They started out by writing short and saccharine pop tunes, went in new directions as they changed their sound, and eventually recorded more complex and layered songs that proved how creative they could be. The longest Beatles songs fully displayed the band’s songwriting prowess and showed how much they developed in just a few years.

The Rolling Stones remain one of the most legendary classic rock bands. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood keep going long after fellow 1960s bands such as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd called it a day. They made several No. 1 hits, but four Rolling Stones albums peaked at No. 2 in the United States.

Before covering the Stones’ albums that peaked at No. 2, we need to acknowledge their slew of hit records. They sent nine albums to the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart in their career.
It’s more than just an impressive number. The Rolling Stones had chart-topping albums across three decades. Sixteen years separated their first Billboard No. 1 (1965’s Out of Our Heads) with their most recent (1981’s Tattoo You).

Right from its inception, the "Scream" franchise was never intended to be merely a great horror movie. Original writer Kevin Williamson always wanted the film to have loftier goals; as he said in a 2021 interview, "'Scream' was a new way of doing a horror film, a deconstruction." Original director Wes Craven almost didn't direct the first "Scream," having already made another meta-deconstruction of the horror genre, 1994's "Wes Craven's New Nightmare," but was convinced to sign on eventually.
In Williamson and Craven's hands, the first four "Scream" films doubled as of-the-moment commentaries on the state of the slasher film and Hollywood trends in general. The first "Scream" established the general "rules" of a slasher, "Scream 2" opined on the increased budgets and mayhem of a sequel, "Scream 3" mused on what makes a good trilogy, and "Scream 4" tackled the then-rampant trend of the "reboot." 2022's "Scream," directed...

The Beatles’ psychedelic pop masterpiece Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band remains an iconic album from the era. Pink Floyd’s debut record, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, is another. Paul McCartney was a guiding force behind Sgt. Pepper’s, including coming up with the title, but he took time to “pass the mantle” to Pink Floyd. McCartney’s prediction about Floyd’s potential (which came with some reassuring words) was 100% right.

The Beatles recorded rock ‘n’ roll hits like “Twist & Shout,” “psychedelic” songs like “Strawberry Fields Forever” and ballads like “Yesterday.” One “Fab Four” member acknowledged their experimentation in other sounds and genres, sharing his thoughts in a 1966 interview.

The couples appeared side-by-side on the grounds of the estate, which served as the late monarch's home for most of the past two years amid the Covid-19 pandemic. At age 13, Ryan Gosling was spreading cheer on “The Mickey Mouse Club.” But something must have snapped in the dozen years between “The Notebook” and “La La Land.” The Canadian heartthrob seems committed to convincing us that he can be a cold-blooded, even-keeled, unsentimental killer. Starting with Nicolas Winding Refn’s “Drive,” followed by the Danish director’s “Only God Forgives” and now playing the title character in the Russo brothers’ “The Gray Man,” an actor who once radiated charisma in “Crazy Stupid Love” has been perfecting an inexpressive cool that borders on nihilism, keeping his pulse stable and poker face fixed as he offs whatever adversaries come his way.
Gosling doesn’t just want to be an action star; he wants to be the Hollywood version of Alain Delon, the handsome French icon who played a sociopath with perfect cheekbones in “Purple Noon” and a hit man with no visible emotions in “Le Samouraï.
