- Director
Award-winning composer, producer, & pianist Trevor Kowalski draws from nostalgia, family, childhood and romantic memories, nature, and technology to set the backdrop for his most heart-felt pieces. His music has been streamed over 100 million times, and been used in videos and films seen over 1 billion times. Drama, adventurous sound-design, and striking emotion run through his soundtracks.
Influences include John Barry, Sergei Rachmaninoff, and John Adams, as well as Mychael Danna, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Robert Glasper, and Jessica Curry.
Trevor's young Piano Themes (2013) led to more mature projects; the #1 mobile game in India Bombarika (Original Soundtrack) and his honored London production of Antigone (Original Music from the Bloomsbury Theatre Production), among others: 2nd-place Game of The Year (IN) Cubots: The Origins (Original Soundtrack), Annalise Lamberty's Honey and Jerome Forever! (Original Soundtrack), and Lior Schinagel's Love Love (Original Soundtrack). Select concert works "Three Themes on Common Tones", "Certain Paths", and "Zastój" have been well-received. Trevor's "windowpane" EPs (Daydream In Silver, Luminescence...) marked a dive into atmosphere and memories that he has continued since 2018. He has composed for New York's senate-awarded DON'T WAIT ® to Unmake a Bully series. In 2021, Trevor began collaborating with award-winning director Alexis Anoruk Sallee on multiple film soundtracks, notably "Dear Kin" (2021) premiering at the Anchorage Museum, and "Celebrating Our Beauty" (2021) commissioned by MTV for Native Heritage Month.
From the foothills of the Adirondack mountains in New York state, Trevor studied at Boston University, The Royal College of Music London, and New York University (and apprenticed at the University of Southern California). He was the first freshman ever to win BU's Composition Contest.
